The bug is fixed in http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/current/. However notice there is no 32-bit kernel version. One-shot fix is: *sudo intel_reg_write 0x9404 0x1800* which remove pixel flickering for my purpose. 2011/11/18 bugbot <856...@bugs.launchpad.net> > We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response > from the original reporter. You have been subscribed to a public bug: After updating to kernel 3.0.0.0-13 (after the reboot), the Unity plugin on Compiz Config was unchecked and the Unity launcher lost the tweaks made. Trying to check the plugin I have the error message: "Some key and edge bindings of Plugin Ubuntu Unity Plugin conflict with other plugins. Do you want to resolve these conflicts? [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 882710] Re: Dual monitors randomly black out, might be linked to switching workspaces
Ah, Bug Control have arrived :-D I have suspicions about it being related to certain monitor sizes, he says that he doesn't get it with just his vga screen, but with just one DVI screen he does. I doubt it is DVI specific, but it could be to do with screen sizes. A DVI-VGA adaptor would settle this. And I also think it's twinview specific. Despite the failures of the separate X screen setup, it didn't black out, although there are trigger problems with this. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 787587] Re: Cannot change screen resolution on Dell Duo in Natty
Hello all, There are two bugs here: 1) 1024x576 resolution is not selectable by default in gnome display properties. This is coming from the EDID for the display. Unfortunately there is no way to fix this directly and will have to be worked around, possibly by issuing the commands in comment #4 on boot. 2) Setting the display to 1024x576 results in a black screen. This is the main bug that should be fixed. According to the description, this worked in Natty, so it sounds like this is a regression and once we figure out what component is responsible for the problem we may be able to bisect and fix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/787587 Title: Cannot change screen resolution on Dell Duo in Natty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/787587/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 851947] Re: /usr/lib32/libGL.so.1 prevents Doom 3 from starting
The Bug#852873 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ia32-libs/+bug/852873) is set to be duplicate of this bug. But the solution written here to delete /usr/lib32/libGL.so.1 results on my Kubuntu x64 with error saying there's not this file when i try to run wine 3d games. The working solution is from 852873 bug to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH (in my case it is for example command in shell: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib32/nvidia-current wine wow.exe) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/851947 Title: /usr/lib32/libGL.so.1 prevents Doom 3 from starting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ia32-libs/+bug/851947/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 92599] Re: Incorrect (low/stuttering) refresh rate with NVIDIA driver
The compiz fix for bug 880707 is the change that I think might solve (hide) this bug. I am getting a new Nvidia card today so I can retest this. However the current proposed fix for bug 880707 is much too complex and risky to put in updates right now. It needs much more testing. Also, the compiz administrator wants to completely rewrite it according to my emails this morning. So much more work and debate yet. In the best case, when we agree on the final compiz fix for bug 880707 (not the unity fix), then I'll put it in my PPA for all 11.10 users to try. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92599 Title: Incorrect (low/stuttering) refresh rate with NVIDIA driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/92599/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 893431] [NEW] Random Display Freeze, Multiple Times a Day
Public bug reported: I was running 10.04, but did a clean install of 11.10, and I get complete freezes on a regular basis. Before this, 10.04 was incredibly stable. I can't use the keyboard, and the mouse pointer does not move. Easy way to reproduce, I have a skype conversation, and then move a window. That tends to do it quite easily. I've noticed if I'm listening to music, the music does keep playing, so it's not a kernel panic. I upgraded to the latest nvidia driver (285.05.09) in an attempt to fix the issue, but just had a freeze, so that wasn't it. I also note that since I upgraded, my fans run a lot, as it looks like my nvidia card is doing a lot of work with Unity, even when I'm not actively using it. It never did this under 10.04 (and I use to have a lot of Compiz effects running). Next time it freezes, I'll be sure to ssh in and get a tail of the dmesg. Let me know what I can do to help.
