I found these strings in apt-all. They are translated but in update-manager
they aren't translated.

String "Checking for updates" in Update center is not translated and is not
marked as translatable in Launchpad.

I grepped this string and found it here:

But when I searched this string in update-notifier and update-manager in

So UI is not completely translated and we can't check the correctnes.
Maybe this is a bug?

In Language Selector selected Russian.
Also all these files I have but the folder is
/usr/share/locale-langpack/ru/LC_MESSAGES/

These files have the translated strings which I see untranslated in Unity.
It seems a bug.
Some strings in Unity shows translated, some not.

This package does not present in Launchpad. So these strings aren't
translatible in Russian in Ubuntu 19.04 and higher.

How we can solve it?

It seems this is a bug of translation. Because both strings are translated
but not showing in Russian in 19.04. The latest translation was in June,
but didn't arrived in 19.04

Should I create a bug report?

Untranslated strings in grub menu

Some time ago grub was translated.
But recently some strings that were translated before in 19.10 become
untranslated in 20.04: "Additional parameters for Ubuntu" etc.
Where I can find them in launchpad? I haven't found them in grub

Broken grub translation

Yes, but bug still exist and grub translation is broken.
Who can help with this problem? We haven't much time for fixing translation
if where are errors etc.
Also untranslated grub is the first thing average user will see. And it can
be the first bad impression from OS.

ubuntu-release-upgrader package translation is broken

Hi, Sebastien!

It seems ubuntu-release-upgrader package translation is broken too.
I checked for Russian only. Don't know about other languages.

When I was doing partial upgrade of 20.04 I saw many strings not translated.
I found them in ubuntu-release-upgrader translation. They were translated
in 2012 but now they show untranslated in interface!

"Do you want to start the upgrade?"
"To prevent data loss close all open applications and documents."
"%d packages are going to be removed."
"You have to download a total of %s."

I tried 2 times to download PO file, but launchpad didn't send me the link
to the email.

I changed some translations in package. Also I downloaded PO from launchpad
to check for broken file. Unfortunately I haven't found any errors in it.
It opens fine.

These strings were translated in 2012 but now they are shown as
untranslated in application. Where are a lot of untranslated strings. I
listed only some of them.

I found similar problem in update-manager.
They both have broken output in embedded terminal windows during update!

Untranslatable strings in grub menu bug

Hello, Sebastian!

I filed a bug about untranslatable strings in grub menu: "Memory test" and
"recovery mode".

These strings are totally untranslatable because they were not exported for
translation in Launchpad.

I searched them in launchpad grub translation and didn't found. After that
I searched in Ubuntu 20.04 Beta disc. See my results for Ubuntu Beta:

/mnt/cdrom/isolinux/bootlogo
/mnt/cdrom/isolinux/en.hlp
/mnt/cdrom/isolinux/f3.txt
grep: предупреждение: /mnt/cdrom/ubuntu: каталоги рекурсивно зациклены

igor@igor-SVF15A1S9RB:~$ grep -Ril "recovery mode" /mnt/cdrom
/mnt/cdrom/casper/initrd

Yuri Chornoivan also make some investigation:
1. "Memory test" is from Debian patch to memtest86+ package

Can be translated via Debian bug reporting system, but got lost somehow.

2. "recovery mode" is from Ubuntu patch to grub2

It's in /debian/patches/mkconfig-recovery-title.patch

Where is string Filesystem after mounting disk

Hello!

I found that after mounting disk the string "Filesystem DISK_LABEL" in
Nautilus is untranslated in Russian. Do you know in which package this
string is?

Also description of Firefox shortcut in Gnome panel is untranslated
about 1 year.
Could you help?

Russian.
It is translated long ago but not in menu.

Now sound applet is OK.
Mail applet has no translation.
Also computer-janitor and Broadcast Preferences have not Russian
translation.

directories names for Russian.
Translation was changed a long ago but didn't update in maverick RC.
