[Bug 173524] Re: ispell does not work in emacs22
I have found a way to reproduce this bug, install any package that pulls in ispell, and /usr/lib/ispell/ becomes populated. This breaks the call from emacs to aspell for some reason, and ispell gets used instead. Now since there is no english ispell dictionary installed, spell checking stops working (at least partly). See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dictionaries-common/+bug/179523 A temporary fix for the problem is to run sudo apt-get autoremove ispell This will however break other dependencies. To get spell checking working in emacs for your native language run sudo apt-get install aspell-ru I noticed that installing language-support-sv adds ispell-sv instead of aspell-sv as it should have. -- ispell does not work in emacs22 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 140554] Re: X crashes gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0
Same problem for me, but with a twist. I get gdm_slave_xioerror_handler: Fatal X error - Restarting :0 as the only message in syslog. It happens at night a few hours after I stop using the machine, but only on nights when I leave firefox running. The machine is a brand new Dell XPS M1330 with an external monitor connected running the binary nvidia drivers and ubuntu 7.10. [Bug 1651216] Re: Lubuntu 16.10 64bit installation crash at partition step
I actually succeeded in performing the installation, with the media I had. I already check the integrity of the iso I downloaded and it was OK. The onlly thing I changed in the way of installing is that I used gparted prior to launching the installation to erase all partition I could have on my disk. (booting on the Live CD) Then the installation occured without any issue. What may caused the problem is that the 1st partition was actually a "backup" one, used by the manufacturer ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1651216 Title: Lubuntu 16.10 64bit installation crash at partition step To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1651216/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

#24 worked for me BUT with the addition of removing leftover lock files first: sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock Dangerous if anything apt related still running - but I think a lot of people will CTRL-C their way out of "apt-get update" of somehow try to kill a hung update-manager. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1579712 Title: Refresh hangs indefinitely, appstreamcli using 100% CPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appstream/+bug/1579712/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1545776] Re: 14.04 kernel does not log exec properly and aa-logprof fails
On Ubuntu 15.10 (4.2.0-16-generic) aa-genprof creates a similarly broken profile. On Ubuntu 16.04 beta 2 (4.4.0-15-generic) the "name" field is now present in syslog when operation="exec" and aa-genprof gives /usr/bin/find cx permission and creates a child profile. Running the profile in enforce mode is successful. Any chance whatever was done to fix it in the kernel can be backported to 14.04 and 12.04 since most users will probably be stuck with those versions for a long time to come? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1545776 Title: 14.04 kernel does not log exec properly and aa-logprof fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor/+bug/1545776/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
