[Bug 240138] Re: Flash doesn't work in FF3 since Update to Ubuntu 8.04

2009-03-09 Thread JJ
I can report that this is no longer an issue for me, using:
  - GStreamer Core Library version 0.10.21
  - flashplugin-nonfree 10.0.22.87ubuntu1~intrepid1
on Intreipid with a 2.6.27-13-generic kernel. It appears to be fixed.

[Bug 240138] Re: Flash doesn't work in FF3 since Update to Ubuntu 8.04

2008-10-16 Thread JJ
Once playing a flash SWF, all gstreamer stops working (Totem, Rhythmbox,
etc). Conversely, flash movies start but do not play when a gstreamer
application is running. My sound card is Intel, and I'm using ALSA. This
is pretty serious - it's unrealistic to expect people to either surf the
web OR listen to music; but not both.

[Bug 85969] Re: Java Docs Package Won't Install

2008-10-29 Thread JJ
I acccidentally reported this last night, but that's because Synaptic
actually crashed which led to this bug being reported. When I tried
again, I followed the instructions for downloading the JDK docs from
Sun's website and copying them to the /tmp folder and it worked without
a problem.

Would be nice if we didn't have to take this step though.

[Bug 237818] [NEW] wine abc.com video strange graphics mode

2008-06-05 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wine

After following instructions in the forums per this thread's
instructions, I attempted to watch tv shows on abc.com through wine +
firefox + adobe flash. Everything works fine through the commercials,
right up to the point where the show video starts. At this point the
video flips into a weird color scheme with lots of interesting colors,
but not correct ones. The video itself also appears to be heavily
pixelated. Even after closing wine, this graphics mode persists until
the xserver is restarted with Ctrl+ Alt + Backspace.

Another thought is that I have not been able to find this bug reported
anywhere else except at the very end of the thread I followed directions
from, leading me to believe that possibly a recent change is responsible
for this bug... but I don't have any real evidence to support that.

I saw the exact same issue with both the open source and proprietary ATI
drivers for my A215-S4807 Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Release: 8.04 -- Desktop

debugging help, just point me in the direction of useful information to
collect.

[Bug 325973] [NEW] "Starting File Manager" Windows open uncontrollably

2009-02-05 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

When "Show Desktop" is disabled from gconf-editor, windows saying
"Starting File Manager" replicate until the computer fails to respond.

Using the path in gconf-editor: apps->nautilus->preferences, disabling
show desktop for an effect crashes my computer.

I turned off show desktop to show a different wallpaper on every workspace, and
windows keep appearing. This process does not show up under the Systems
Monitor.
I think is it worthwhile to note that when I open my flashdrive, this problem
does not happen.

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 Alpha release 3.

There is no "report a Problem" window due to the unresponsive nature of my
system.
I installed ccsm through the add/remove programs feature, and aside from
updates, I have only installed ubuntu restricted extras, ccsm, wine, and my
theme (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Slickness+Black?content=73210)

Included with the report I have attached my settings for compizfuzion.

the windows.

[Bug 9208] Re: Samba upgrade failure due to broken rc.d symlinks

2006-07-13 Thread JJ
I had an almost idendical problem on 6.06 LTS, but the broken links were

/etc/rc2.d/S91samba -> /samba
/etc/rc3.d/S91samba -> /samba

Obviously, there's no 'samba' in the root folder, so I just deleted
these dud links, ran "apt-get upgrade -f" and it seemed to resolve
itself.

Maybe one of the recent packages was dodgy.

[Bug 54526] Mounting remote Samba shares does not work correctly

2006-07-30 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-desktop

In attempting to mount Samba shares on a remote system, I came across
two issues. Note I was using System Settings | System Administration |
Disk & Filesystems, using Administrator mode, clicked on New, set Type
to Windows File Sharing, etc. The two issues were as follows:

1) Kubuntu (and possibly also Ubuntu) do not automatically install smbfs
during initial setup, and until smbfs is installed, you get confusing
error messages while trying to mount your shares. So perhaps smbfs
should be installed as part of a default Kubuntu/Ubuntu installation, or
at very least the error message should mention that smbfs needs to be
installed.

2) If the share you are trying to mount has a space in the name (e.g.
Disk 1), the configuration dialog attempts to convert it to a
hexadecimal value, %20. But that will not work in fstab. Instead,
fstab wants to see an octal (!) value, in the form \040 - so, attempting
to mount a share with a space in the name will always fail for most
users unless they figure out what the problem is and manually edit
fstab, changing the %20 to \040

A third, minor issue is that by default it sets the 'Files belong to
user/group' settings to root. But it doesn't work (for writing to the
remote share in particular) unless you set these to the value of the
user (since you cannot log in as root).

[Bug 103378] Re: impossible mount floppy device in /media

2007-10-25 Thread JJ
Dudes, I really couldn't find in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuKDEMedia any
reason (I supose that there were good ones) to not use media:/ (maybe I did a
poor reading). Could anyone explain it? I really saw were lots of complaints
(the problems dealed in this bug) about the (weak) workaround of /media/, what
I saw corrected in Gutsy by using, for my surprise (and as mlaverdiere wrote
before), system:/media - ! - ...
Well, I thought that it was pretty different (better) than media:/ but (again,
maybe I did poor testing but ...) it works (and looks) exactly alike! ... Can
anyone see any difference?
I really don't get (I know that, as I said, in this case specifically, the
current solution acts just like what we were proposing - unless I'm wrong - but
I, at least, would like to understand) why not to use the corresponding
kioslave to everything ...
I'm sorry but, honestly, without a good reason, it gives me the impression of
kid stuff, you know (like "what we did was not good but we'll not use an old
behaviour either")? ... This is why I'm intrigued about this (maybe small)
issue ... I can't (and refuse to) be believe in this impression ... I don't
think it'd be a big deal to go back to a (working) previous behaviour. I hope
I'm wrong about this impression ...

[Bug 217770] [NEW] Kubuntu-KDE4 Hardy Beta LiveCD install crashes session

2008-04-15 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Downloaded the latest kubuntu-kde4 i386 beta livecd from kubuntu
website.

Despite of running whatever boot option from which you may install the
system, either to directly install or to run livecd session and then
install, installation crashes the session after choosing keyboard
layout. It just starts (or restarts) kde4 session all over.

It only happens if, on CD boot, I choose my language (Portuguese-Brazil
- don't know about other languages).

If I leave in default, English, it works ok, even if, at the first step
of installation, I then choose my language. Through this way, everything
gets installed as should, including the download of support for my
language, what is set nicely after installation.

[Bug 99073] Re: There's no alias field for jabber accounts in kopete

2008-04-16 Thread JJ
I took a while to test it again (and tested a bit quickly at the
kubuntu-kde4 beta version - I believe it's the latest release of kopete,
at least, for kde4.0.x) and, really the *only* way to enter an alias for
*one* jabber account is to do it for an identity.

Well, I don't know about you but, if not a bug, it's a really weird
situation (and unnatural behaviour):

* Imagine if you have several accounts into the default identity and
want one jabber account to have a different alias. You would expect just
to edit a field but you gotta create another identity and gain one extra
thing to manage (and get lost into, 'cause now you have 2 identities -
at least one, undesired - , and, to make them to have the same data
(like picture, for example), you have to duplicate these data every time
you change them). And, look, you only wanted to use a different alias!
Not have to manage another identity!

* I'm not gonna take your time driving you through thinking if you have
a (or maybe 2) Google Talk (jabber) account(s), another jabber one from
your job (like I have), and a ICQ's, and a Yahoo!'s (and, who knows,
more ;-) ) ... How many identities would you have to manage! And they'd
only be different by the alias ... The option would not to make use of
identities and set these data at the accounts directly but you can't
'cause they don't have appropriate fields for them (well, jabber
accounts - I think MSN's - and maybe others - do).

* I once changed the alias from my job's jabber account through PSI
(which I used there for a while), but I couldn't change it again through
kopete (which is far better in everything else) without changing the
whole identity.

BTW, by the same logic, having a picture field for jabber accounts
doesn't look so bad (and unneeded), does it? ;-)

The thing is, IMHO, an identity should have what you want to be global
and you expect to be able to change only specific data into accounts.
*That* is to make having identities an useful feature! It's something I
(and probably everybody) would want to use!

Ok, I'm sorry but, if that's the intention of identities, that sounds
like a bug to me, as you have no way to change specific alias (or
picture) for the accounts you want to.

[Bug 217770] Re: Kubuntu-KDE4 Hardy Beta LiveCD install crashes session

2008-04-16 Thread JJ
Just tested and it nicely went ok. I went 'till the last step (when it
displays to you all data you set before actually perform installation)
but, however, I didn't finished the whole installation 'cause, first, it
passed correctly through keyboard layout (which is the point here) and,
second, I just installed my system ;-) and I think language wouldn't
interfere in the installation itself. Would it? Is this test needed?

Well, the only strange thing was the window's title: "Instalar #-#-#-#-#
pt_BR.po (debian-installer) #-#-#-#-# Instalar". I don't know if it's a
problem with pt-br translation or ubiquity.

[Bug 218636] [NEW] Kubuntu-kde4 desktop's installer (hardy, daily-live from 2008-04-16) with weird window title (in my language, at least)

2008-04-17 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Tested Kubuntu-KDE4 Daily Live (i386 Desktop LiveCD) yesterday
(2008-04-16). I was testing the installer against another problem a got
from it in my language (fixed).

On boot, when language options are presented, I chose Brazilian
Portuguese and moved on. Well, the installer was presenting a weird
window title: "Instalar #-#-#-#-# pt_BR.po (debian-installer) #-#-#-#-#

I don't know if it's a problem with pt-br translation only (maybe the
translation string) or ubiquity itself, 'cause I couldn't have time to
test it on another language.

[Bug 99834] Re: QT 4 applications are not getting feisty default styles and widgets

2008-03-27 Thread JJ
I think the major problem is that Kubuntu-KDE4 would present that theme

freshness of KDE4 ... So, if I'm right, I guess it's a dead end and,
then, the bug would (or should) be closed.

2008-03-28 Thread JJ
I guess it's ok. So this bug would be about the missing of kde4-style-
qtcurve installed by default for Kubuntu-KDE3 and would be solved by
having it. It also wouldn't affect Kubuntu-KDE4 if we don't get kde4
-style-qtcurve pre-installed there, and so it could freely use Oxygen,

[Bug 37784] Re: sky2 ethernet driver is freezing on big upload

2007-06-21 Thread JJ
What versions of the driver have you tried? I had this exact same bug
back in breezy / dapper flight 6. I have the same onboard NIC you have
as well. While I can't say I'm 100% positive that the bug is fixed I was
90% sure that it was fixed since I use some very graphics intensive
XWindows apps on my campus...usually spikeing traffic to 10+mbs...and
these were the same apps that were causing me trouble in the first
place. I am absolutely positive I don't have anything current, but I
know there was a similar bug in the windows driver for this card,
involving a buffer that was defaulted to have its value set too low. I
pointed this out a year or two ago, and the bug appeared to go away
after someone backported a driver to the current ubuntu version of the
kernel. I'll try to get both the link to the issue with the Windows
driver, and my current version of the kernel + driver as soon as I can,
but I'm at work without the computer in question.

[Bug 107595] Re: Windows icons (icon on titlebar) get resized on maximizing/restoring windows on Kubuntu

2007-05-28 Thread JJ
Apparently, this problem is about the default window decoration,
Crystal. I changed the window decoration to Plastik and to Polyester, to
test, and the icon was still the same size (the bigger one - when with
Crystal), window maximized or normal. The bug got back there when I
changed back to Crystal.

[Bug 107142] Re: Kubuntu Feisty logo's outer glow on login and kde loading screens are making it look blurred.

2007-05-31 Thread JJ
I decided to close this bug myself in detriment of so much work in many
others, since it may not be as important as many of them (well, it
didn't receive - probably, fairly - as much attention), and perhaps
doubtable (but it would bring, at least, some interesting point of views

[Bug 103378] Re: impossible mount floppy device in /media

2007-04-19 Thread JJ
Well, I tested placing it on
/usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde-profile/default/share/apps/systemview/media.desktop
an it works but it'll only keep the original System menu order if you also
copy /usr/share/apps/systemview/home.desktop there, 'cause
/.../kubuntu-default-settings/.../systemview looks like preceding the list of
item from /usr/share/apps/systemview and Storage Media starts appearing on
first place, before all other items. Copying home.desktop there made it get
first place again, putting Storage Media back to second place.
So, I'm not the most qualified to tell where's the best place to put his file
(/.../kubuntu-default-settings/.../systemview or /usr/share/apps/systemview/)
once I don't know the benefits or not of each of them.
I sent the wrong file before (a previous version), then I replaced it here now.
Please notice that it's owner and group are set to rot and, if it will be
released w/ feisty or if someone will use it, please change it's owner and
group to the necessary ones (if needed).

[Bug 108236] KSnapshot keeps file name on it's titlebar fater saving the snapshot

2007-04-20 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ksnapshot

After saving a snapshot, the file name hangs on titlebar, even if you take
another snapshot by clicking New Snapshot, or close KSnapshot and call it
again, or just start another instance of it.
Well, it's handy to make you know if you saved the snapshot which thumbnail
your seeing on KSnapshot and, if so, the file name, so I don't think it should
be taken from there.
However, if it stays there after a new snapshot, it starts to make confusion,
once you are seeing a snapshot that is not saved and, even less, is different
from the one you did save with that filename (at least, till you save it with
the same filename, if you do it, once you can just close without saving - and
sometimes maybe by thinking that you saved it, 'cause of the filename on
titlebar).
So, I believe the name of the former saved file should be cleared from titlebar
on any new snapshot (even by clicking New Snapshot or hitting Print Screen),
that is, the name of the former saved file should stay there till a new
snapshot.

[Bug 103378] Re: impossible mount floppy device in /media

2007-04-21 Thread JJ
Hi, Epsilom.

I've been making a few tests yesterday and I've seen that there's some more
thing to do ...
One of them is when you insert a new media and kubuntu asks you what do you
wanna do with it: open in a new window, ... and do nothing. If you open it in a
new window, you'll see that it's been opened over /media/[device]. It should be
changed for the correct path by kioslave.
Also, when you're in a file saving dialog, if you select, on the left options,
storage media, it's also /media.
So, I've been thinking, as kde or (k)ubuntu developer which I'm not (actually,
far from it - yet), if there's no more clever, more centered, way to do it, in
which we make a change in one place, instead of this way, changing lots of
places with the risk of forgetting some ...
So, I ask who knows kubuntu *very* well (I don't know if it's your case,
Epsilom, or someone else's but, whoever can answer with precision): is there?

Epsilom,

Installed and tested both packages you attached and they're ok! System menu >
Storage Media now opens media:/, as konqueror's default page now also does.
Still didn't lookup for a more centered place (if there's one) to get the
changes I mentioned before (and other ones I maybe didn't find yet).

[Bug 27840] Re: Win key both a modifier and a regular key

It's probably known by all of you but, just to take it out of my conscience, as
I'd like to see this feature implemented too (and would hate to know it's not
there by not saying this ;-) ), Mandrake 7 and 8 (the only ones I used) used to

[Bug 27840] Re: Win key both a modifier and a regular key

2007-04-18 Thread JJ
Andrew,

(First, just for correction, it's Arnaldo, but it's ok ...)
I would need to install'em again and I couldn't find those CDs. So I downloaded
Mandriva One KDE 2007 Live CD and tested it through Live CD.
So, supposing that those versions I mentioned work the same way or that today
they use an evolution of those, I should answer that they don't. This Mandriva
do open the menu on Win Key and I saw on its keyboard shortcuts settings that
it was mapped to open K Menu but, when I tried to assign it as a modifier of an
arbitrary action, right when I held the Win Key, it just prompted me that the
key was assigned to open the applications menu, asking if I wanted to change.
Then I took a look around the other keyboard shortcuts, as Amarok ones, and all
of those that use Win Key as modifier in Kubuntu were changed to Ctrl+Shift(or
Alt)+Key.
Just to know, I asked a friend that uses Debian w/ Gnome and mapped Win Key to
open Applications menu (a second option on this way that I'm aware of - to see
if Gnome had it) to try to map it to an action as a modifier. Same result.

Sorry.

[Bug 103378] Re: impossible mount floppy device in /media

2007-04-18 Thread JJ
I used to have the same problem. So that I stopped using System Menu > Storage
Media (which today's default is to point to /media) for read floppy disks, pen
drives (they were using to left some of the folders in which they're mounted
listed in /media) or any other storage media. Instead, I was launching System
Menu > Home Folder and, by choosing Services side button in the then opened
konqueror window, I selected in its tree, Storage Media (this one points to
media:/). As you can see, it's a long way to get there!
So, I just copied /usr/share/apps/systemview/media.desktop to
~/.kde/share/apps/systemview/media.desktop (I created systemview folder there)
and edited it from Path=/media to Path=media:/
Now, my System Menu > Storage Media points to media:/ and it is just neat!
So, I second the asking for considering it on feisty and even attach here my
edited media.desktop file to make it even easier/faster to replace
/usr/share/apps/systemview one in time for the release ;-)
Thanks in advance.

[Bug 99164] Kicker's Quick Launch applet still adds applications to itself even when set to not do it.

2007-03-30 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

KDE Kicker's Quick Launch applet with the option to "add/remove applications
based on their popularities" unchecked still doing it (adding applications to
itself).
This happens when (after use some applications with - even very few -
frequency, if your system - or user - is new) the user deletes one or more
applications from his Quick Launch applet's ones. Then, another one from the
ones he used will appear.

Here's a test I've made while writing this: I created and logged in as a
whole new user and added Quick Launch to kicker. I launched a few apps.
Then, I removed one app from Quick Launch (which started with 5 default
items from kde) and it added two of these apps. Then, I removed another
one and a third one appeared. I removed it and Quick Launch kept 5
items. Then I launched another app (different from the other ones - but
later I did it with some already opened with the same result) and
removed other from Quick Launch and the new app was inserted.

Tested in kubuntu edgy and dapper (not tested in feisty yet).

** Affects: Ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 99899] Re: Cannot enable nvidia driver in Feisty beta

Same problem for kubuntu feisty beta with GeForce4.
But, the command I used to enable nvidia-glx was "sudo nvidia-xconfig" instead
of "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable", according to

Attached is the xorg.conf that this command (nvidia-xconfig) generated (pretty

[Bug 99058] Re: kopete loses status message after closed or even if the user (un)locks his session

2007-04-02 Thread JJ
Ok, tested in feisty and the problem is still there. :-(
I've made a little bit more detailed tests (in feisty).
I've set user' status to Online typing a status message and locked kde session.
The status was automatically set to Away and the status message was still
there. But when I unloked the session and status got back to Online, the status
message was gone (cleared).
I've made the same test from Busy instead of Online. When I locked kde session,
status was not set to Away, then status message didn't change, neither by
locking it or unlocking it, once status also didn't change.
I've got the same problem starting from Free to Chat status. I locked kde
session, status was set to Away (status message was there) and, when I
unlocked, I've found another problem: it turned to Online instead of Free to
Chat and status message was cleared.

[Bug 93193] Re: Kopete is not translated in french in feisty

2007-04-02 Thread JJ
Got it translated to Brazillian Portuguese by setting Country to Brazil and
(automatically) language to Brazillian Portuguese in System Settings > Region
and Language before install feisty beta. Then, installation downloaded and
installed the PT-BR Translation package, as used to happen by selecting a
language in the old Language Support item in K Menu.
I believe it shouldn't be necessary to make these settings on Region and
Language, once I already tell may country and language to kubuntu installer
(actually, I think System Settings' Region and Language should take my country,
language and alike settings from the installation).

[Bug 462305] [NEW] Change of login language changes remembered passwords?

2009-10-27 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Travelling the world... installing Ubuntu ( well, here at least ). My friend is
German and can work in english. I am an english speaking Canadian - no german
language skills.
I installed Ubuntu 9.04 in english (but german keymapping).
Automatic login of main user, changed to german language.
I logout and log back in with english to work on installing programs or
instruct her.
She entered passwords while in english with 'remember passwords# option.

Logging in with german on startup she complained about not getting email. It
looked to be a wrong password.
I cleared the passwords and she re-entered while logged in using german and it
now works.

I'll try to do more tests but am moving on to another city so may not
get the chance for a while. Sorry for the poor bug report - 1am.

[Bug 525441] Re: Reduce memory usage

2016-06-25 Thread JJ
If simple-scan is unable to load the cached data it should give the user the
option to abandon the cached auto-save data on successive attempts. Currently
it just tries and crashes repeatedly due to lack of memory.
At a minimum: Console output indicating an attempt to load the cache and its
location would've been helpful in solving the issue.

I get a very similar crash ( libgobject-2.0.so )when using a brand new Eclipse

other directory than the default "~/workspace".
I might get it to start with workspace in ~/cordova but then it will crash when

[Bug 1245864] [NEW] libmarblewidget16 4:4.11.2 packaged wrong version? Manual download and copy .so allows marble and digikam to run

2013-10-29 Thread JJ
Public bug reported:

with a manually downloaded and extracted copy.

[Bug 1245864] Re: libmarblewidget16 4:4.11.2 packaged wrong version? Manual download and copy .so allows marble and digikam to run

2013-10-29 Thread JJ
I manually unpacked the library from the
libmarblewidget16_4%3a4.11.2-0ubuntu1_i386.deb in my
/var/cache/apt/archives and did an MD5:

388cd41fc3597134ae362bbf0626c0e9 libmarblewidget.so.0.16.2
which matches the GOOD one above !?!?

So I looked to see if there were any other packages that included the file:
apt-file search libmarblewidget.so.0.16.2
libmarblewidget16: /usr/lib/libmarblewidget.so.0.16.2
marble-dbg: /usr/lib/debug/usr/lib/libmarblewidget.so.0.16.2

but of those two I only have the libmarblewidget16 package installed.

Maybe my copy was corrupted some other way?
Wait and see if anyone else has problems?

Agreed.

Thank you for your informative response.

debsums -s didn't find problems with anything else.

I'll run an extensive (smartmon!) test on the brand-new harddrive so i

[Bug 1233662] Re: Missing debug helpers in QtCreator/can't view STL containers in debugger

2013-10-31 Thread JJ
I finally stumbled upon this.. explains everything.
http://hostilefork.com/2013/10/20/qtcreator-debugger-no-locals-ubuntu/

Short version: Ubuntu is shipping with gdb compiled with python V3 which is
incompatible with Python V2.
QTCreator's scripts are written in Python V2.

I had gotten further with this ppa version which has the helper python
scripts.. but still has errors due to GDB + python
V3.http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/ubuntu_sdk_release/saucy/main/base/qtcreator

So the options seem to be: Move to QTCreator 3 or compile and
use a GDB with python 2.7

I found this bug report thanks to this webpage documenting the issue:

I suggest that bug # 1233662 is better titled and this bug should be marked a

[Bug 1233662] Re: Missing debug helpers in QtCreator/can't view STL containers in debugger

2013-10-31 Thread JJ
I second that suggestion.

Here's the Beta 3.0 announcement page with download links to a compiled version
( "run" ):
http://blog.qt.digia.com/blog/2013/10/23/qt-creator-3-0-beta-released/

I put back the gdb that came with Ubuntu 13.10 ( the one with Python 3 ).
apt-get removed my existing qtcreator.
QTCreator 3 looks good - debugging with helpers, finally!

[Bug 1242029] Re: openjdk-7 crashed while running vuze

2013-11-17 Thread JJ
If reproduceable this would be a problem with libswt-cairo-gtk or
libswt-[gnome/webkit/mozilla]-gtk libraries.

As for Eclipse I avoided the problem by using a newer version of Eclipse
than the one that Android is packaging with their ADT bundle. Not
related to Ubuntu at all.

I put the status to incomplete until someone else confirms the issue
with Vuze.

[Bug 335603] Re: nautilus file copy dialogue does not close after completing the operation

2010-06-29 Thread JJ
I am currently having this issue. I am running 10.04 with all current
updates on a Dell Inspiron 1721 (AMD) laptop. When I try and copy/move
files/folders in nautilus, it transfers the files, but with no dialog.
Nautilus eventually freezes up and has to force closed. Doesn't matter
what I try and do, the issue happens no matter what is reproducible
every time.
