If reproduceable this would be a problem with libswt-cairo-gtk or libswt-[gnome/webkit/mozilla]-gtk libraries.
As for Eclipse I avoided the problem by using a newer version of Eclipse than the one that Android is packaging with their ADT bundle. Not related to Ubuntu at all.
