[Bug 244405] [NEW] ubuntu freezes on log out or switch user

2008-06-30 Thread ercferret18
Public bug reported:

well i think there might be a lot of duplicates of this but i think that
i am having a slightly different problem. ubuntu starts normally and i
can log in, but once i am logged in, when i try to log out or switch
user, i just get a blank screen and I have to do a hard reboot in order
to fix it. I am not using kubuntu or xubuntu, just ubuntu with the gnome
interface.

let me know if there are any files I need to attach...

[Bug 366833] [NEW] suspend doesn't work in jaunty (ati)

2009-04-25 Thread ercferret18
Public bug reported:

Suspend does not work at all with an ati card. It goes into suspend
fine, but on resume, the monitor won't turn on. The only way out is a
hard reboot. In intrepid, this problem could be solved by enabling the
proprietary driver, but this is not available in jaunty.

i think it's gdm, but then again it might be xorg-driver-fglrx, because
without that driver this problem doesn't happen... its only with that
driver

[Bug 329285] [NEW] Suspend does not work without proprietary ATI graphics driver.

2009-02-13 Thread ercferret18
Public bug reported:

Basically, if the proprietary ATI graphics driver is not enabled in
"Hardware Drivers", suspend will not work. It will go into suspend, but
it will not come out. It just gives a blank screen, and a hard shutdown
is the only way to make it work again. I had this problem until I
enabled the proprietary driver, but upon disabling this driver, the
problem starts again.
