[Bug 214388] Re: Nautilus opens nfs shares each time a user logs in

2008-05-12 Thread br24
I still have this problem. What fix do you speak of? If it was the
latest nautilus update, then I will say I already obtained that;
otherwise, I do not know. I have attached a screenshot of my desktop.
Notice there are two Music icons. Again, I have not added anything to
my fstab.

This is still a bug that did not exist prior to hardy. So if this is
not a nautilus issue, what is it then?

[Bug 230034] [NEW] NFS opens shares on desktop

2008-05-13 Thread br24
Public bug reported:

I have three NFS shares that I manually mount from my other Ubuntu box;
one of these go to the Desktop. These shares are not setup on fstab. I
originally believed this might have been similar to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/214388, but
according to Sebastian Bacher, this is a different bug. I have added a
screenshot showing the three mounts on the Desktop, and you will find
two Music icons.

I do not appreciate the rude comment. That is very unbecoming, whoever

[Bug 312282] Re: NFS locks after mounting

2009-01-07 Thread br24
Thank you for the reply. I added "no_subtree_check" and "async" to this
last three options, while removing the first. I received the same
results. I successfully mounted the first share without any issues,
then mounted the second. I then checked Samba on a Windows system, and
it was locked up. I also tried to access the ext drive on the NFS
server, and that was locked up as well.

[Bug 312282] [NEW] NFS locks after mounting

2008-12-29 Thread br24
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nfs-common

I have multiple NFS shares on my NFS server, and every time I mount one
or more share, nautilus will lock when attempting to access the mounted
share, samba locks up on every networked system, and the directory on
the server will lock up. Both NFS server and client have been upgraded
to Intrepid, and the last time I did not have a problem was when the
server was on Gutsy, with the client already upgraded to Intrepid.

The shares I attempt to mount are located on an external drive, which
uses the FAT file system. The client previously had the shares in
fstab, which worked before upgrading the server. I have also
reinstalled Intrepid on both systems without success. I have attempted
to kill nfs-common and portmap on the client, and nfs-common, nfs-
kernel-server, and portmap on the server, and both were unsuccessful in
resolving this. The only way I can access the external drive on the
server and via samba is to restart both client and server.

Here is the input on /etc/exports on the server, with "192.168.x.x" as
the IP for the client:

/media/Storage 192.168.x.x/32(rw,no_root_squash,async)
/media/Storage/Music 192.168.x.x/32(rw,sync)
/media/Storage/Pics 192.168.x.x/32(rw,sync)
/media/Storage/VG 192.168.x.x/32(rw,sync)

I am running out of ideas on resolving this, and I believe this could be
an issue with 2.6.27-9-generic kernel, as it is the only thing I can
think of at this time.

Here are additional information on both client and server:

(client) br...@milo:~$ uname -a
Linux Milo 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 21:57:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

(server) br...@sassy:~$ uname -a
Linux Sassy 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 21:57:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux

I am also attaching files giving additional information.
