Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nfs-common
I have multiple NFS shares on my NFS server, and every time I mount one or more share, nautilus will lock when attempting to access the mounted share, samba locks up on every networked system, and the directory on the server will lock up. Both NFS server and client have been upgraded to Intrepid, and the last time I did not have a problem was when the server was on Gutsy, with the client already upgraded to Intrepid. The shares I attempt to mount are located on an external drive, which uses the FAT file system. The client previously had the shares in fstab, which worked before upgrading the server. I have also reinstalled Intrepid on both systems without success. I have attempted to kill nfs-common and portmap on the client, and nfs-common, nfs- kernel-server, and portmap on the server, and both were unsuccessful in resolving this. The only way I can access the external drive on the server and via samba is to restart both client and server. Here is the input on /etc/exports on the server, with "192.168.x.x" as the IP for the client: /media/Storage 192.168.x.x/32(rw,no_root_squash,async) /media/Storage/Music 192.168.x.x/32(rw,sync) /media/Storage/Pics 192.168.x.x/32(rw,sync) /media/Storage/VG 192.168.x.x/32(rw,sync) I am running out of ideas on resolving this, and I believe this could be an issue with 2.6.27-9-generic kernel, as it is the only thing I can think of at this time. Here are additional information on both client and server: (client) br...@milo:~$ uname -a Linux Milo 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 21:57:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux (server) br...@sassy:~$ uname -a Linux Sassy 2.6.27-9-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 20 21:57:00 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux I am also attaching files giving additional information. ** Affects: nfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- NFS locks after mounting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
