Re: [Bug 1048700] Re: E-reader device does not remember current page of books loaded from Calibre

2015-03-24 Thread Tom Butler
Initially, yes. Only books converted to EPUB by Calibre showed this
problem.

This bug report is very old. Calibre has been updated since the bug
report was issued, and this problem does not appear any more.

[Bug 995697] [NEW] WEP security with passphrase broken

2012-05-06 Thread Tom Butler
Public bug reported:

I upgraded to UBUNTU 12.04 and failed authentication to my wireless net
with WEP. Version is 3.2.0-24 i686.

I use a 128-bit passphrase on all my machines at home. It did not work with
the upgraded system after repeated attempts.
When I translated the the 13-byte phrase I use to hex and entered it as the WEP
key, authentication succeeded.

Re: [Bug 995697] Re: WEP security with passphrase broken

2012-05-07 Thread Tom Butler
Perhaps my explanation was not clear. The "Passphrase" option for setting
the
wireless key is broken. The hex option still works. This has happened on a
netbook recently upgraded to UBUNTU 12.04 and on another PC upgraded to
kernle 3.2.0-24 in KUBUNTU.

[Bug 1048700] [NEW] Does not remember current page

2012-09-10 Thread Tom Butler
Public bug reported:

I am using the current Calibre package from Ubuntu 12.04. I use it to
manage all my ebooks, through I normally read the ebooks on a Nook
reader. When I turn the Nook on after a complete power off, it
remembers the book I was reading but not the current page. It drops me
at the first page of the book every time. Sometimes, I get a message
that the book has been read on another device and there is a remembered
page number for that device. In these cases, the remembered page number
(for the other device) is correct, except I have not been reading the
book on any other device. Most often, though, it just drops me at the
first page of the book and I must seek the currently-being-read page
manually. I am reading EPUB format ebooks, and many of the ones I am
reading have been converted to this format by Calibre. I expect the
Nook to go immediately to the last viewed page when a book is opened.
This is the way it works with books I have purchased from Barnes and
Noble.
