[Bug 365857] Re: bcm4328 wifi card doesn't work with a clean install

2009-05-13 Thread OJ
Confirmed on my friend's laptop. I fixed it by addin to /etc/rc.local:

rmmod ssb
modprobe wl

Don't know if that has any consequences yet... (?)

If so, I will try this solution. What is the ssb module afterall?

[Bug 364609] [NEW] OpenOffice.org 3 wizards not working in 9.04

2009-04-21 Thread OJ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

If my memory is correct, In Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid, if I tried to use the
wizards in OpenOffice.org (File > Wizards), it would say that I had to
install openoffice.org-java-common, but in Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty it doesn't
say so, no error comes up, and therefore the user just feels like the
wizards doesn't work and have no clue how to fix it. After installing
openoffice.org-java-common the wizards works just fine.

[Bug 379650] Re: Flash full screen does not work in a dual monitor setting

2009-07-25 Thread OJ
Same problem here. I want to view YouTube-videos on my TV. I drag the
Firefox-window to the TV, and maximize it, and then click the fullscreen
button. Then the video is shown on the monitor, not the TV, and in the
wrong resolution aswell. With Opera, the video is actually shown on the
TV in fullscreen, but it looks like it thinks that the TV has the same
resolution as the monitor (why??), and then it gets completely wrong. It
should show the video on the same monitor as the browser window, and in
the same resolution as the monitor it's on.

[Bug 75784] Re: kobodeluxe: kobodl segfaults on 64 bit ubuntu

2007-10-10 Thread OJ
I expierenced this with Fiesty also.
Here's the workaround:

start kobo with
kobodl -nosound

when kobo starts, create a player (just give it a name like AAA), then hit OK
Then choose Options, then choose Audio
And make the settings like this:
Enable Sound: Yes
Sample Rate: 48kHz
Sound Latency: 50ms
Mixing Quality: High
Reverb Level: 100%
Limiter Speed: Fast
Limiter Gain: High

My feeling is that the sampling rate was the issue, but after I made the
changes sound started up just fine. The game works well after that.

[Bug 967091] Re: Wrong tint with Nvidia after upgrading to 11.2

Same problem here (NVIDIA). Enbling HW-acceleration in mms.cfg solves

acceleration works great on my 32-bit HTPC).

Removing VDPAU is not a solution at all. It will disable HW-acceleration

[Bug 830570] [NEW] In Lucid, can not install linux-headers-generic-lts-backport-maverick

2011-08-21 Thread OJ
Public bug reported:

headers (2.6.35-30). When trying to install "linux-headers-generic-lts-
backport-maverick", Synaptic says "Depends: linux-

Looks like the package "linux-headers-2.6.35-30" is missing from the
repo, because when trying to manually install "linux-
headers-2.6.35-30-generic" it says that "linux-headers-2.6.35-30" is

I am using Lucid and 802.11n is working great with iwlagn (same speed as
in Windows, more than 3 times faster than 802.11g). Is Lucid using an
older driver or the same? I tried Maverick from a USB pen and removed
the workaround and 802.11n worked as in Lucid. I didn't check if the
speed degraded...

When Intel release a fix, will it be available in Maverick or do we have
to wait for Ubuntu 11.04...? (as with a lot of drivers and software that
gets better right after a release)

[Bug 597221] [NEW] Empathy changes status to away when I put the computer to suspend, but doesn't change it back when I wake up the computer

Using Lucid. When I suspend my computer Empathy changes my MSN status to

[Bug 949337] [NEW] package gnome-colors-common 5.5.1-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2

2012-03-07 Thread OJ Ramos
Public bug reported:

Automatic updates(223) downloaded successfully but installation of some
failed via GUI updater. dist-upgrade via terminal results in :

update-alternatives: using
/usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/places/ubuntu-logo.svg to provide
/usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/places/start-here.svg (start-here.svg) in auto
mode.
update-alternatives: warning: skip creation of
/usr/share/icons/gnome/256x256/places/start-here.png because associated file
/usr/share/icons/gnome/256x256/places/ubuntu-logo.png (of link group
start-here.svg) doesn't exist.
update-alternatives: warning: skip creation of
/usr/share/icons/gnome/48x48/places/start-here.png because associated file
/usr/share/icons/gnome/48x48/places/ubuntu-logo.png (of link group
start-here.svg) doesn't exist.

Starting update manager immediately after terminal session shows only 9
updates left to install and all updates then installed succesfully.

System now up to date.
