[Bug 363614] [NEW] "Close Without Applying" and "Cancel" buttons have same keys assigned

2009-04-18 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-app-install

The "_Close Without Applying" and "_Cancel" buttons (on dialog box that
pops up when you try to close the program with changes selected) both
have the same shortcut key assigned (Alt+C) in version 0.5.24. Just an
inconvenience.

[Bug 139045] Re: Slow suspend on various Toshiba laptops

2008-06-06 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
As of kernel 2.6.24-19, suspend still has the same behavior on the Tecra
M6 (have the other models been incorporated into the kernel yet?).
However, the workaround does work:

cd /lib/modules/2.6.24-19-generic/kernel/drivers/ata
sudo mv ata_piix.ko ata_piix.ko.bak
cat ata_piix.ko.bak | sed 's/TECRA M5/TECRA M6/' | sudo tee ata_piix.ko >
/dev/null
sudo update-initramfs -u

[Bug 328079] Re: cannot create new C++ class

2009-02-22 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
i filed a bug at anjuta's bugzilla at
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=572805 . in the mean time,
the workaround that i'm doing is to uncheck the "Add to project" box
when creating a new class. this will generate the code at least. then
i can save the files and add them to the project myself. hardly a
resolution, but gets me by for now.

[Bug 139045] Re: Slow suspend on various Toshiba laptops

2008-04-28 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
FYI, my Toshiba Tecra M6 experiences the same behavior (slow stand by,
i.e. suspend to ram) on Hardy, and now my hibernate (suspend to disk)
appears to do the same as stand by (fan starts running on high and takes
around 5 minutes to power down). This was not the case with Gutsy.

[Bug 530148] [NEW] Inactive tab receives focus when page loads

2010-03-01 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-browser

Using:
 - Epiphany 2.29.91
 - Ubuntu 9.10
 - Linux 2.6.31-19-generic

Steps to reproduce:
0. Browse to Google (or anywhere with a text-entry field) in the current tab
1. Open a new tab.
2. Browse to a page that takes a while to load, but sets the focus to some text
field on the page when it loads.
3. Before the page is done loading, switch back to the original tab.
4. Start typing in Google's text field. Keep typing until the page in the
other tab has loaded.

Expected behavior:
Google (or whatever page in the original tab) should keep focus, since it is
the active tab.

Resulting behavior:
The new page, even though it is not in the active tab, gives the focus to the
text field on that page. You can see that this is the case because whatever
you thought you were typing in the Google text box appears in the new page's
text box.

because it's a really effective for preserving battery life).

[Bug 1059727] [NEW] Windows occasionally loose focus when quickly Alt+Tabbing

2012-10-01 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
Public bug reported:

When I quickly Alt+Tab between two applications (i.e., Alt+Tab-release,
Alt+Tab-release, ...), sometimes neither application is focused when I
stop. I have to click on the window (or Alt+Tab again) in order to
regain focus. I do not know what has focus in these instances, as when
I type nothing seems to happen.

To reproduce:
1) Open two (or more) applications
2) Quickly (about twice/second will do) Alt+Tab between two applications (i.e.,
Alt+Tab-release, Alt+Tab-release, ...) until Unity's top bar shows a blank

[Bug 753216] [NEW] Computer hangs when trying to sleep after external monitor is connected or disconnected

2011-04-06 Thread Mjumbe Wawatu Ukweli
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

On my System76 Lemur (Ubuntu 10.10, uname -a: "Linux mjumbewu-lemur
2.6.35-28-generic #50-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 18 18:42:20 UTC 2011 x86_64

use an external monitor. It does not matter whether I use multiple
displays or mirror the same display onto both screens. I use gnome-
display-properties to set up my screens. In order to use the computer
again I must force a reboot.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Boot computer
2) Connect external monitor (into VGA port)
3) Set up dual heads
4) Disconnect external monitor
5) Close the lid

Expected results:
- Computer goes into standby, as normal.

Actual results:
- Computer remains on and no longer responds to mouse or keyboard. Fan also
spins up.

Thanks.
