[Bug 40324] Re: Icons are mushy and indistinct
The problem with the mushy and indistinct icons is not in their quality, which is superb by the way, but in the fact that, for the default panel size, SVG icons are used instead of the 22x22 or 16x16 PNG variants. I guess this shouldn't be to hard to fix, and is also a big usability boost, since it's kind of hard to make out the icon states right now. Hope, this gets fixed before Edgy is released. -- Icons are mushy and indistinct https://launchpad.net/bugs/40324 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 86444] Re: g-p-m panel icon doesn't scale correctly
I'm afraid the issue hasn't been resolved. The previous comment was a false positive. The issue seemed to be resolved because of the bug in gnome-panel, that made the panel bigger than usual (24px), with the latest gnome-panel update, the panel is back to normal size, but the issue with the icon is evident again. The bug should be reopened. -- g-p-m panel icon doesn't scale correctly https://launchpad.net/bugs/86444 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 86689] Re: firefox GUI fonts don't match system fonts
Hi! I've attached only one screenshot, since it it very easy to spot the issue in it. If you look at the "Application, Places, System" menu, or any other aspect of the GNOME desktop, you can see that the font (DejaVu Sans Condensed, 10pt) is very different, in both size and typeface, than the on in Firefox menu and dialogs (not evident in this screenshot). While not a show-stopper bug, it certainly decreases the overall polish of the Ubuntu desktop. ** Attachment added: "screenshot of the firefox font issue" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6609712/Screenshot.png -- firefox GUI fonts don't match system fonts https://launchpad.net/bugs/86689 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 86444] Re: g-p-m panel icon doesn't scale correctly
I will stress this again, this bug is NOT resloved and should be reopened. I have also attached an image of the issue and a mockup of a proper icon being used, to better illustrate what I'm talking about. [Bug 86444] g-p-m panel icon doesn't scale correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Gnome power manager icon in the panel doesn't use correct icon size for the 24px sized panel. Instead of using 16px( or 22px) icon size it uses the SVG version resulting in a blurred and indistinct icon. This bug is quite easy to reproduce requiring only an installation of the latest developement version of ubuntu. And the bug is also present in current stable version of ubuntu (edgy). Since this bug has been around for a while, I sincerely hope it gets fixed this time. I can confirm this problem. I experienced the same symptoms, or rather my system did, and the above proposed workaround fixed the problem.
