In my case, I have pidgin crashing everytime I resume from suspend. When I resume, however, the network manager is working fine. The case when the network manager is NOT fine is when I have a panel crash, e.g. the one with adding more locations to the clock. It is known that there is a bug that crashes the panel when the user tries to add a location from the list. Well, when I have the crash-from-the-location, and the panel crashes, the network manager disappears. Everytime the panel crashes in this way, I keep losing the network manager. [Bug 214622] [NEW] Can not change username in users-admin

When I get to the properties of my user, the username field appears in gray and not available to be modified. The rest of the fields are open to modification, but I need to change my username and it is not possible like this. I am reporting this as a bug because I also had to change my username on my Gutsy installation, and it worked without problem, the username field was open for modification and I simply changed it. [Bug 214622] Re: Can not change username in users-admin
Thanks for the replies. To clarify the subject: I do not want to change the username as in $home. Just want to change the login name to the session. For example: under Gutsy, I originally had username "marcelo" with login name "marcelo". My home directory is /home/marcelo. To enter gnome in gdm I had to use login name "marcelo". For practical reasons, I had to change my login name to "mespinoz" which is the login name I have in my other computer in the office. So I went to System->Admin.> Users and groups, and change the login to "mespinoz", buit the home directory is still /home/marcelo and the group is "marcelo" and so on. I wanted to do the same in Hardy, and I can not do it. I simply want to change the login name to the session, not the home directory or the group. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apt I'm using Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 in my computer at work. The computer is behind a internet firewall (http://9.9.9.9:3128). The cups error log at the print server shows the following: E [27/Sep/2009:01:07:02 -0300] CUPS-Add-Modify-Printer: Unauthorized E [27/Sep/2009:01:22:18 -0300] encrypt_client: Unable to encrypt connection from 192.168.0.1! E [27/Sep/2009:01:22:18 -0300] encrypt_client: A TLS fatal alert has been received. I have noticed that the URI for the auto-configured printer is ipp://w.x.y.z:631/... and this is what is not working. If I manually configure a network printer using a URI like ipp://w.x.y.z/... (omitting the port), it works. However, this is a bad workaround for me, because the cups server IP address is dynamic and eventually changes. The auto- configured printer does not work. -- Printer Applet infinite notification: Printer may not be connected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 466105] Re: Sound fails in KDE 4.3.2 + pulseaudio when a sound is played before another finishes
Also, sound is cracking and glitching when playing music/videos and loud noises often remain echoing after finishing playing sounds. Sometimes music/video playback is mute until I pause and continue the playback. The microphone also stopped working after the upgrade to 9.10. I can hear the microphone if I uncheck "Mute" in the mixer, but can't record any sounds with it (skype, audacity, qarecord and other applications that record from the microphone will not "hear" it). Capture is checked both in the microphone and in the capture channels of the mixer. These problems occur with KDE and non KDE applications (like skype, audacity and mplayer), so it is not a phonon/KDE problem as I had previously though. -- Sound fails in KDE 4.3.2 + pulseaudio when a sound is played before another finishes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1318090] Re: Bluetooth will not pair with Lenovo Bluetooth Keyboard
I get it resolved this way in my Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS. I followed up the link posted before by cbsuh in the first comment but I can show you how to pair it quickly and safe: Be sure you have the tool hcidump installed. If don't, sudo apt install bluez-hcidump Run hcitool scan and search for your device. In my case: hcitool scan Scanning ... XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with TrackPoint Next, run "sudo hcidump -at | grep -i passkey" and wait till you see the line with the passcode you'll have to enter with your keyboard and press enter. Now, go to your Bluetooth devices list (when you see your device listed), and after select it, choose Setup, Pair device and Next (in the dialogue) After a few seconds later, you will see the passcode number so enter it quickly and press Enter. You have to slide the lid of the right several times to put the keyboard in Discoverable mode. For me, it did not work at first time, but yes at the second time. In my case: sudo hcidump -at|grep -i passkey bdaddr XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX passkey 159066 The command prints out a lot of output, so with the grep you only pay attention to what's important. And, now it's paired. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1318090 Title: Bluetooth will not pair with Lenovo Bluetooth Keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/1318090/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So I followed the step 2: If yes, execute at a terminal: + --- + ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.5 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: marceloimg93 1955 F pulseaudio + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=090ef119-2cc9-4437-8d56-9109538b6799 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-01-22 (5 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160719) + Lsusb: + Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub + Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0bda:0129 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. [Bug 1577257] [NEW] Styllus buttons can not be configured on wacom tablet
Public bug reported: The functions assigned to a wacom tablet's stylus buttons using SystemSettings -> Input Devices -> Tablet (translated from portuguese, names in english might not be exactly those) are ignored by the system and buttons 2 and 3 always produce a left-click. Everything else about the tablet works fine (pressure sensitivity, assigning functions to the tablet's express buttons, etc.). If xserver-xorg-input-wacom-lts-wily is removed, the wacom tablet is not detected as a tablet anymore (as expected) and does not show up in SystemSettings -> Input Devices -> Tablet, but it can still be used as a mouse and, in this case, the stylus buttons work as middle-click and right-click. I'm running Kubuntu 14.04.4 LTS (fresh install) with the kubuntu backports PPA enabled. KDE Version is 4.14.13. The wacom tablet is a Intuos Pro Small (PTH-451). xserver-xorg-input-wacom-lts-wily version is 1:0.30.0-0ubuntu3~trusty1.
