Same here. With karmic and earlier releases only the package acpid was needed in the VM. To get the shutdown in a lucid-VM working one has to install the package acpi-support too. However, this pulls in a lot of dependencies like hdparm, x11-xserver-utils, radeontool, wireless-tools and others. Public bug reported: I have a display connected to HDMI port and speakers connected to analog out. In gnome-control-center the sound device is set to "Analog Stereo Duplex". However, after the display was in standby mode, the audio is always sent to the HDMI output, so I have to change it back to Analog Stereo Duplex in gnome-control-center... This happens after installing linux-image-3.0.0-17.30 from oneiric-proposed, and I think it is related to the "drm/i915: HDMI hot remove notification to audio driver" patch. Old kernel 3.0.0-16 works well. Public bug reported: Just upgraded my virtualization hosts from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04. However, I noticed that the clock in the guests completely stops after live migration from one host to another. In addition, migrated guests hang on shutdown or reboot - only 'virsh destroy' helps. Live migration always worked great for me on Ubuntu 10.04 to 11.10, I never had any problems. Today I created a new guest machine, and migration works for it! Public bug reported: After upgrading some virtual machines (KVM) to Trusty I noticed really high I/O wait times, e.g. Munin graphs now show up to 200 seconds(!) read I/O wait time.
