Unchecking the "Show menubar by default in new terminals" in the profile setting does not prevent the menubar from appearing when gnome-terminal is started and only has an effect on whether the "Show Menubar" checkbox in the context menu is checked by default. I think we need to clearly separate the 2 (at least) different issues mentioned above : 1. [Bug 889706] Re: Gnome-shell randomly crashes
@Fibonacci : The bug occurred with the patch applied ? Is there any specific action you did when it crashed ? As I said when posting the patch, I don't think it will fix all crashes, but I need some specific informations on when the crashes occur to be able to reproduce them and hopefully fix them as soon as possible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 889706] Re: Gnome-shell randomly crashes
@dmdsoftware : though it is not the only cause of crash, gnome reflexion seems to cause some issues when used together with MGSE. You may want to try disabling it.

@Dominique Callaert : did you try applying the patch ? [Bug 889706] Re: Gnome-shell randomly crashes
@Dominique Callaert : thanks for the info. Nice to know the patch at least fixes some of the crashs. @Fibonacci : I'm not sure what kind of information could be useful right now. I don't know where the issue can come from, and I personaly do not experience any crash since I wrote the patch. I'll try to post some scripts here with some debugging output in order to see if we can determine if there is a common factor as to when the crashs occur. I'm starting to think that there maybe a bug in gnome-shell itself (though I hope there isn't) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889706 Title: Gnome-shell randomly crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/889706/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 729490] Re: The update icon missing
By design, only one update manager can run at a time. Even though the icon is not there in every account, you can still launch mintUpdate manually from the menus. Also the update icon would be useless in a guest account as it does not have sudo permissions. ** Changed in: linuxmint Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/729490 Title: The update icon missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/729490/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
