[Bug 424132] Re: [kubuntu] OOo KDE file dialog is utterly broken.

2009-10-04 Thread E.T. Anderson
I have also had this experience, and a few others that I think are related to
the openoffice.org-kde package. With the KDE integration installed in the
karmic beta, I cannot add images to Impress slideshows using the menu item. A
dialog comes up and I can select an image, but the dialog blinks (disappears
and comes back) and does not add an image.
I also cannot set a background image because of the same problem. Impress is
unable to "Save image as" and cannot export a slide to an image file. Once I
removed the KDE integration package, all these problems went away.
When saving as M$ ppt, I have to manually add the extension, but not when
saving as odp.

[Bug 875440] Re: Cannot authenticate with saslauthd and mysql

2012-05-01 Thread E.T. Anderson
I can confirm this effects Precise 12.04.

I was able to somewhat work around this by changing the SASL auth
mechanism from 'pam' to 'rimap' though I have yet to get authentication
working in Roundcube. At lest testsaslauthd succeeds with the rimap
mechanism.

[Bug 692477] Re: cannot enter suspend mode

2011-01-30 Thread E.T. Anderson
I get this same behavior, but only most of the time (not always).

I don't know if it's related, but KDE System Monitor (Kubuntu) reports
one of my four processors at 100% utilization all the time, but h/top
and even System Monitor's own task list never show any process taking
more than 5% processor time. Whenever I see this, I cannot suspend. If
the processor shows as idle, I am able to suspend.

not specifically utilization.

[Bug 741200] Re: kded4 hangs when wlan toggled

2011-05-07 Thread E.T. Anderson
More precisely, the process consumes 100% of one CPU core. I've got 4,
so it shows as 25% use.

I do not experience this problem with the wireless, but I do when I
disconnect from a VPN connection.

[Bug 630580] Re: [82G965] No compositing with kwin (and doesn't work well if enabled)

2010-09-20 Thread E.T. Anderson
With the latest packages, compositing seems to be working fine for me. I
can do wobbly windows now, and Kwin doesn't crash as much. I don't think
I'd call it stable yet.

[Bug 247583] Re: add option to start dnsmasq with a custom configuration file

2010-09-08 Thread E.T. Anderson
Does the network XML allow for MX records? I'd like to have an email
server VM, but email servers need MX records, and I didn't see a way to
specify that in the documentation linked above.

I've got Intel HD Graphics on a Core i5 laptop. If I remember correctly,
that's a GMA4500 stuck onto the processor die, more or less.

[Bug 630580] Re: No compositing with kwin (and doesn't work well if enabled)

2010-09-06 Thread E.T. Anderson
I can get effects to work by disabling functionality checks manually in
kwinrc, all except wobbly windows. It is still quite crash-prone though;
even changing window border styles will crash KWin for me.
