[Bug 28443] Re: no sound Intel HDA (ICH6) and ALC260 (or ALC880) mixer; no errors

2006-11-02 Thread DasJott
I tried the new Ubuntu 6.10.
My Soundchip is Intel HDA (ICH6 Family) ALC880.
No sound at all, although it seems to have been recognized. A driver was loaded
(seems so in the device manager), a volume icon exists in the upper bar and the
mixer volumes are all on 100%. No sound.
Removed Edgy first, will wait for a decent update.

[Bug 59991] Re: crashed while using gwget

2006-11-08 Thread DasJott
Same problem here using Ubuntu 6.10 with panel 2.16.1-0ubuntu3.
Panel crashes, restarts without the gwget-icon, but gwget is still running. Can
even still use it per FlashGot from within Firefox.
Attached the automatic generated bug-report from Bug-Buddy, which btw. pretends
to not know the name of the crashed app.

[Bug 59991] Re: crashed while using gwget

2007-01-04 Thread DasJott
It seems only to happen when Gwget already shows a tooltip and wants to show an
other one.
On Gwget startup, it brings up a tooltip with the text "Gwget". If you leave
that one open and a download finishes, Gwget wants to show that in another
tooltip - crash.

I presume it is also a bug in Gwget, although of course the panel
shouldn't crash when an other app is buggy...

Just my notice.

Just downloaded a daily build, made a installable usb stick from it and
booted from that.

The result is attached.

I have no clue, why newer kernel versions don't run on Lenovo Yoga 3.

2017-01-18 Thread DasJott
Tried the 14.04.2 which works correctly. The 14.04.5 does the same bug.

So I guess the Kernel 4.x is broke for Lenovo. And Canonical does not
care at all.

What does Priority "high" even mean? No progress since October 2016 and
all Lenovo Yoga 3 Notebooks keep Linux free...

A shame.

[Bug 1580882] [NEW] [, Intel Broadwell HDMI, Digital Out, HDMI] Sound like half speed

2016-05-12 Thread DasJott
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 16.04 all updates applied.

Playback to headphones is just fine. If I switch output to one of my monitor,
connected by HDMI, the soudn comes out there, but with half speed. That sounds
kinda funny, but weird and not as it should.
Maybe it is somehow related to suspend mode as it was fine a few days ago
(after a reboot? Can't reboot now to test, sorry).

I already tried sudo /sbin/alsa force-reload but that didn't do
anything.

[Bug 685075] Re: [ATI 4250] Enabling FGLRX driver for ati radeon mobility 4250 unity will not start up

2010-12-14 Thread DasJott
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 685682 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/685682

The same for me on Aspire One 521 with Radeon HD4225 and Unity.

With the new fglrx 10.12 Panel and Starter appear, but dialogs and even
some context menus are messed up. All in all it feels very disturbed.

[Bug 630315] Re: Unity crashes on ATI Radeon

2010-11-04 Thread DasJott
Not fixed for me in Ubuntu 10.10 on Acer Aspire One 521 with Radeon
HD4225.

With fglrx driver neither the launcher on the left, nor the panel appears. Also
the window manager is not present.
Starting with a gnome-terminal as an "autostart" app shows nothing but the
terminal without any window around it.
Starting either Unity or Mutter from this terminal only gives "Segmentation
fault". Starting Metacity from that terminal works fine though.

The opensource driver works okay. It may not be as good accelerated as
the proprietary one but is okay. Has some drawing issues on the launcher
icons and right beside them on the desktop (while hovering) though.

[Bug 670845] [NEW] Firefox start changes appearance

2010-11-04 Thread DasJott
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

In 99% of cases where I open Firefox, Unity changes its appearance to the
standard gtk one.
Panel and launcher remain as they were, but the nm-applet becomes the ugly blue
one and all menus are gray. Also the tabs and the icons of the navigationbar
are gray and very square.

Running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick netbook edition on Acer Aspire One 521
netbook with open source radeon driver (HD4225).

Deinstalled some unused (nvidia, intel) graphic drivers before. Didn't
change the appearance manually, ever.

[Bug 217668] Re: no battery detected

2010-11-04 Thread DasJott
On Acer Aspire One 521 the battery is not detected.

#cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/info
present: no

Of course no tab for battery mode in gnome-power-manager and the symbol
in panel always shows the ac symbol.

[Bug 670845] Re: Firefox start changes appearance

2010-11-05 Thread DasJott
Will try that this afternoon (now it's morning here and I am at work),
whether starting gnome-settings-daemon from terminal will make the
problem go away.

Also I have to note, that when I open the appearance settings while this
error occurs, the problem is solved too. As if it reminds itself of the
correct settings in the moment the appearance aeetings window appears.

Mark: Starting gnome-settings-daemon immediately brought the correct

You mean backtrace of gnome-settings-deamon?
Will try to do that, following the wiki instructions.
Never did that and it looks like quite some steps to do, but I'll be brave
:-D

[Bug 577842] Re: shpchp cannot reserve mmio region

2010-11-02 Thread DasJott
Same for me on my Acer Aspire One 521 with Ubuntu 10.10.
It slows down boot time as it waits for some seconds at that point. No further
problems with the system though.

[Bug 666715] Re: [ATI Radeon HD 3200] Unity screen drawing problem

2010-10-27 Thread DasJott
Same was here on an HD4225 on Acer Aspire One 521 with fglrx driver.
Before some Update the menus and some popup windows were totaly destroyed.
Afterwards Unity didn't start at all. No Panel, no Mutter window manager. So
only the desktop.
I put gnome-terminal into autostart apps, so I at least had that running (as
the only UI). I could start Metacity from terminal, so the terminal got a
window frame. I could not start unity nor mutter. "Segmentation fault" was the
only reaction in terminal I got.

[Bug 1691556] Re: Can't send audio to Amazon Echo via Bluetooth

2020-03-10 Thread DasJott
I don't use Ubuntu currently, but I think this is a Linux issue anyway.

After using a plain arch linux system, I now use a manjaro installation.

I could pair AND connect my Amazon Echo perfectly fine on the arch
installation. I could listen to music on there and everything was good.
Now on Manjaro I have the same problem: Pairing works, connecting doesn't.

Is there anything I could look up on the old system? I still have it on
the other partition...
