[Bug 109496] Re: Wired connection not detected (Worked nice on Beta)

2007-05-10 Thread BrodocK
at bug #83143 someone told about:
disconnect network cable and re-plug it and then paste the result of a :
dmesg |grep link

and this is what i got:

[ 12.413843] audit: initializing netlink socket (disabled)

but without the grep help i can get the link up and link down
information:

[ 1578.601659] e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Down
[ 1587.888119] e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex

maybe it's something setup wrong with the network-manager to get
messages about link up and link down.

Re: [Bug 129605] Re: Incorrect packages dependency

2007-10-01 Thread BrodocK
When you want to enable the functionality that is dependent to this library,
you could place a popup window asking if the user wants to install the
library and then prompt for sudo password (if in debian or ubuntu, and then
install it)... or something like that...
otherway i think that if it's a functionalitty of listen it needs to be a
dependency... or you could think like this:

I have listen and it play's musics... but the library's to play music isn't
a real dependency to make the program run (show the dialogs)... so if
someone downloads it to play music, they had to figure out that it needs to
install the dependency packages...

that's my point of view...
if you have a functionality that depends on some packages, then, the
packages are a dependency to make the program run in it's fullness of
functionality.

this is also a help to novice people that can't figure out what the error
message means.

[Bug 210090] [NEW] evolution google calendar doesn't work with private calendars

2008-03-31 Thread BrodocK
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

See this bug report for reference
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=502900

The information you need to know:
Description:Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release:8.04
evolution:
  Instalado: 2.22.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidato: 2.22.0-0ubuntu2
  Tabela de versão:
 *** 2.22.0-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://espelhos.edugraf.ufsc.br hardy/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

And the bug itself:
Adding a Google Calendar doesn't work.
The only case in which this is false is when you add the very first Calendar
you have when you first use Google Calendars. This is because the plugin that
synchronizes with Google Calendar, tries to access
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/@gmail.com/private/full that
points to the "Personal" Calendar, but, if you try to access "UFSC" calendar,
it shall use PRIVATE XML Feed, that will look like:
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/group.calendar.google.com/private-/basic

How to solve it:
I can only think in asking the user to go to Google Calendar and copy paste
this link when trying to add a Calendar (instead of Asking the name of it)

[Bug 211672] [NEW] ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.5/lib-dynload/_socket.so: invalid ELF header

2008-04-03 Thread BrodocK
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

getting a similar problem to the one i'm having with deluge-torrent:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deluge-torrent/+bug/210775
i think that by someway, this lib (from python) is compiled in a way that it
doesn't work on this machine (on my notebook works fine).

Using Hardy Heron 8.04 with today's updates.

Also bug reports to gnome is on auto reject (so they're not aware of
this specific error).

[Bug 825605] Re: Unity displaying with black overlay

2011-08-17 Thread BrodocK
The same here.
One more thing, it says that it didn't found any other kernel module of fglrx
installed while updating fglrx with same kernel.

There is something that is really not working there.

[Bug 682788] Re: Global menu is not ergonomical on large screens

2012-03-19 Thread BrodocK
I really liked #160 sollution, but I would change that icon to something
more like the "shelf" icon on Mac or a "menu-like icon" similar to the
one of LIM (without the triangle symbol inside).

Also to give the idea of "toggling", the "bubble" of the icon could look
like "pressed" when activated (when the menu is visible) and look like
as an unpressed button when disabled (not visible)
