[Bug 357989] [NEW] [LENOVO 7658CTO] hibernate/resume failure
Public bug reported: I hibernated and unplugged the ac power while it was hibernating, and then when I turned on my computer 10 minutes later, it went into normal bootup process. When it got to where it would resume from hibernate, it said something like "Starting normal bootup" after "Waking up". So I assume something went wrong with the wakeup and it aborted into a regular startup. ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: This occured during a previous hibernate and prevented it from resuming properly. [Bug 55902] Re: Gnome should have an smb4k type utility
Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a specification for this. You should first check whether it already exists at the Ubuntu specs page (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs) in Launchpad. If that is the case, feel free to contact the drafter of that spec about your comments/suggestions. Otherwise you can start writing a spec following the steps described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications ** Changed in: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed => Rejected -- Gnome should have an smb4k type utility https://launchpad.net/bugs/55902 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 302] Re: firefox hangs with flash plugin installed on certain sites
I have the same problem on the Edgy version of firefox, which is Beta 2. I'll go to a site with flash on it, such as espn.com, and it will hang until killed when I'm running the debugger, but will usually just crash automatically when not running the debugger. ** Attachment added: "gdb backtrace file" http://librarian.launchpad.net/4703567/gdb-firefox.txt -- firefox hangs with flash plugin installed on certain sites https://launchpad.net/bugs/302 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 82715] Re: network-manager in feisty is broken
My network connection manager says "eth2:avahi", and it refuses to say that I am connected to the internet. However, with an "ifdown eth2" and then an "ifup eth2", I am able to connect to the internet. I have both a broadcom internal chipset, at eth1, which I never use, and an Aironet external card, which is on eth2 and wifi0. Also, network-manager sees my wireless network, but will not connect to it when I click on it. -- network-manager in feisty is broken https://launchpad.net/bugs/82715 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1827790] Re: Dell XPS 13 9380 - Screen brightness flashes
I am running Ubuntu 19.04 with an XPS 13 9380 with Intel graphics. I installed the kernel mentioned above, and the problem is still occurring. [Bug 1827790] Re: Dell XPS 13 9380 - Screen brightness flashes
Huh, I wonder if this is a Gnome Shell issue and not a kernel issue after all. After switching to Ubuntu Mate, and uninstalling the kernel mentioned above, I have not had a flicker yet. Anecdotally, I have also heard of people installing KDE on an XPS 13 9380 and also not having this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1827790 Title: Dell XPS 13 9380 - Screen brightness flashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1827790/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1827790] Re: Dell XPS 13 9380 - Screen brightness flashes
Alright, here we go. There may have been one or two, but I can't confirm that I saw them and cannot reproduce them. I have tried it both on AC power and on battery, and with success on both. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 596581] Re: Package Manager
What looks like has happened is that your /etc/apt/sources.list has an error in it. Specifically, on line 54 of that file, the word "sudo" appears where it shouldn't. To remove that "sudo" from your /etc/apt/sources.list, first type "gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list" (without the quotation marks) into the terminal. Then scroll down to line 54, where the sudo is, and remove it. That line should like somewhat like this: deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid universe . Since this does not appear to be a bug report, we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. [Bug 1939211] [NEW] Screen flickering after upgrading from 5.8 kernel to 5.11 kernel
Public bug reported: Hello! After the upgrade to the 5.8 series kernel to the 5.11 series kernel, I have noticed some screen flickering. I had the same problem previously on Fedora after upgrading to the 5.0 series kernel, but this was not present on Ubuntu 20.04 on either the 5.4 or 5.8 series kernels. On Fedora, it was fixed by turning off panel self-refresh on my Dell XPS 13 9380. I can try that again here if you all think it would be a useful piece of information. In the Fedora bug, it was reported that this problem is fixed in the 5.13 kernel. Let me know whatever else I can do. Thanks! [Bug 1939211] Re: [Dell XPS 13 9380] Screen flickering after upgrading from 5.8 kernel to 5.11 kernel
