[Bug 309596] [NEW] NetworkManager replaces resolv.conf with an useless comment
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager Every time I reconnect to the internet, my resolv.conf file is replaced by the same file, which reads: #Generated by NetworkManager And I need to manually enter the DNS's IPs if I want to surf. I configured correctly the DNSs in NetworkManager, but looks like it simply ignores the configurations... I don't have resolvconf installed (at least aptitude remove doesn't do anything...) and I'd tried to remove write permissions to resolv.conf even to root, but at every reboot, the file is still replaced and the permissions roll back. Moreover, the more I erase the wired connections (I use a 3G modem), the more wired connections appear to me! =-O I thought the problem could be these connections, because they were configured to autoconnect at startup, but I changed that and the problem still remains... ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- NetworkManager replaces resolv.conf with an useless comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1782599] [NEW] Search field in "Open file" dialog loses focus after every character typed
Public bug reported: When we click in the magnifier icon next to the "Open" button in a (system provided) "Open File" dialog to search for some file by name, after each character typed, if there are any search results, the search field loses focus to the list view of the results. [Bug 996589] [NEW] lightdm doesn't provide visual feedback for accepted password
Public bug reported: Since I installed ubuntu precise I noticed that when you enter a valid password for your user account, lightdm simply freezes until the desktop session is fully loaded. This, at first, made me think that my computer crashed while loading the session... This behaviour is very similar to that when the password is incorrect, but the "wrong password" message takes less time to appear than the desktop. If I'm not confusing things, I'm pretty sure that in early versions the dots that override password characters disappeared when you typed in the correct password, and stayed there when the password was wrong. This was a simple but effective visual feedback... Now, we (or at least I) keep asking ourselves whether we entered the correct password or not until something tells us which one happened, after several seconds. [Bug 1009860] [NEW] Installing/updating to zramswap-enabler 0.2.1-0~21~precise1 freezes dpkg
Public bug reported: (I tried to file this bug over the zramswap-enabler, but apport won't let me choose it as the package. Is this correct? I can't remember if this is a package from ubuntu's repositories.) Today (a few minutes ago) I confirmed to the update-manager the installation of some software updates on ubuntu 12.04. The installation couldn't finish because when dpkg was about to unpack/configure zramswap-enabler, it simply stalled. I killed the dpkg process and later I then asked it to configure the remaining packages. It reported an error on zramswap-enabler (as expected because of the interruption). After that, I cleared the apt cache and asked apt-get to reinstall zramswap-enabler, when then I faced the exact problem. I look now at the processes list on gnome-system-monitor and see that both the apt-get and dpkg processes are sleeping, with no open files and no memory map (stangely), and on the console I get this output: (pt-br) Preparando para substituir zramswap-enabler 0.2.1-0~21~precise1 (usando .../zramswap-enabler_0.2.1-0~21~precise1_all.deb) ... (en) Preparing to replace zramswap-enabler 0.2.1-0~21~precise1 (using .../zramswap-enabler_0.2.1-0~21~precise1_all.deb) ... And nothing more happens. I don't know where in the process of installing this happened. Maybe the pre-script is holding dpkg back or something like this... But I don't have much knowledge in this area to guess more securely. I'm filing this bug now because I'm not sure if this error may cause something bad to happen that prevents me to boot ubuntu (maybe I'm exaggerating, but I can't know). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dpkg i386 precise zramswap-enabler -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1009860 Title: Installing/updating to zramswap-enabler 0.2.1-0~21~precise1 freezes dpkg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1009860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 883887] [NEW] Gnome Shell with interface rendering issues and transition glitches
Public bug reported: When I use the interface, everything is just messed up. The top bar (the one with the clock) is badly rendered, with distorted colors, grainy icons (the "app loading" animation icons looks like old TV's static). Some font characters are in the same situation. The tooltips, as some application windows, appear distorted. Every transition animation comes with screen blinking (only content). I think I can make a video of the user interaction in these problems. Moreover, while I was trying to submit this report, gnome-shell just crashed, and I couldn't do a thing until I logged in text mode and restarted lightdm. This happened when I chose to attach the screen capture to this bug.
