[Bug 1940456] Re: [SRU] radosgw-admin's diagnostics are confusing if user data exists
Attaching debdiff built on focal for octopus ** Description changed: This is same as LP#1914584 but its original patch was wrong which was found out in SRU tests and that particular release went ahead without the patch. Since that LP is kind of in hard-to-follow/confusing states, opened this new bug to carry out the SRU work. + + -- + + [Impact] + + When creating a new S3 user, the error message is confusing if the email + address used is already associated with another S3 account. + + To reproduce: + + radosgw-admin user create --uid=foo --display-name="Foo test" --email=bar@domain.invalid + #[ success ] + radosgw-admin user create --uid=test --display-name="AN test" --email=bar@domain.invalid + could not create user: unable to parse parameters, user id mismatch, operation id: foo does not match: test + + As a result, it's completely unclear what went wrong with the user + creation. + + [Test case] + + Create an S3 account via radosgw-admin. Then create another user but use + the same email address - it should provide a clear description of what + the problem is. + + [Where problems could occur] + + The new message may yet be unclear or could complain that an email + exists even though it doesn't exist (false positive). It's an improved + diagnostic by checking if the email id exists. [Bug 1940630] [NEW] Sync git 1:2.33.0-1 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
Public bug reported: I think we just missed the feature freeze but because it is a central piece, maybe we can get an exception here? First the foo FUNCTION_DECL is created, afterwards finish_function calls c_determine_visibility on it which changes its visibility from default to hidden. After this make_decl_rtl is called, determines the function binds locally and sets SYMBOL_FLAG_LOCAL|SYMBOL_FLAG_FUNCTION. Then merge_decls is called, which in turn clears visibility (sets it back to default) and calls make_decl_rtl to update the flags. At this point targetm.binds_local_p returns false, as it at that point has default visibility, so changes DECL_RTL's flags to SYMBOL_FLAG_FUNCTION alone. Then finish_decl calls c_determine_visibility again and sets it back to hidden visibility. But nothing afterwards calls make_decl_rtl again to update the symbol flags again. To fix this, IMHO either c_determine_visibility and C++ determine_visibility need to if (((TREE_CODE (decl) == VAR_DECL && TREE_STATIC (decl)) || TREE_CODE (decl) == FUNCTION_DECL) && DECL_RTL_SET_P (decl)) make_decl_rtl (decl); if it changed the visibility, or merge_decls/duplicate_decls would need to determine visibility. I'll try the former. I would, however, be interested to hear how many levels of pointers gcc actually *can* compile. I would imagine it's at least a few hundred, maybe thousand. Maybe you could try to figure out? That would depend on your stack limit (so the question would really be, for each extra MB of stack limit how many more levels can it compile)? For such extreme programs I think it's reasonable to expect users to increase their stack limit when running the compiler. Although in this case, it would be reasonably straightforward to make c_parser_declarator iterative (with an internal linked list on the parser obstack) rather than recursive - if that were actually of use in compiling real code with real stack limits. In this thread there is some encouraging move on the DMIC issue https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201251 I have applied the suggested patch but no successful. The mic problem should be addressed by upgrades to the sof drivers. You may have to get some sort of quirk added for the C930. The speaker problem is very likely an amp that is not turned on. See https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205755 for more information and a partial fix for 14" C940s. The BIOS upgrade doesn't work for C930s. I just checked the solution from this thread https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201251 and it worked for DMIC, it appeared. [Bug 1845797]
The problem is that the BIOS doesn't activate the amplifiers on the bottom of the body. Someone sent in an unofficial BIOS for the C940 that fixes the problem for the C940 only. See https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205755 There is a related problem with the 9i that has a proposed fix that appears to work. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa- driver/+bug/1926165 This fix may not be enough for the C930 and C940 but it might be possible to get a fix for them that doesn't require a non-official BIOS. By the way, I don't think that any of these laptops have five-channel sound. There is the soundbar with two or three speakers and the two lower-range (I hesitate to call them bass) speakers on the bottom of the laptop. I don't expect that sound under Linux is as good as sound under Windows as I believe Windows has a Dolby ATMOS sound driver for these laptops that probably does some special equalization. The microphone should work in modern kernels. I'm running Fedora 5.11.20 but I think the microphone was fine throughout the 5.10 kernel and maybe even earlier. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845797 Title: Microphone not detected Lenovo Yoga S940 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1845797/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

In other words: We don't have enough information to support this hw (speakers). If vendor is not willing to add support to BIOS or give us necessary information to add the proper initialization for the I2C amplifiers to the driver, the only way is the reverse engineering (grab the initialization HDA verbs in qemu or so). The another problem is that the I2C master block in the Realtek codecs is not documented. Those registers are hidden as the vendor specific coefficient registers. For the mic volume - you may try to play with PGA / Dmic volume controls in the native ALSA mixer application (like alsamixer). I've got some working code that I was going to submit to Phabricator, but I thought that I would check here first on the protocol for context menu changes. I opted for a "Reveal in Bookmark Tree" context menu entry in the Library that would navigate to the appropriate place in the tree and then highlight the entry in the right-hand panel (this seemed more sensible than devising a new window just to show path). I want to make sure that's clear to avoid unintended side effects (like making the user open the folder themselves). The intended functionality is that when the button is clicked, the bookmarks library/sidebar/etc opens the containing folder *on its own* and scrolls down (well, it doesn't actually do any visible scrolling, but opens to the position in that folder where the bookmark is) to the bookmark that the user clicked "Show in Folder" on. As well as opening the folder to where the bookmark is, the manager also highlights the folder location in the list of folders/folder tree (which AFAIK it does when you open a folder the normal way, so it's probably the same code for that). Basically, it just programmatically opens the folder and then locates the bookmark. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1672139 Title: Add "Open Enclosing Folder" context menu to search results of bookmarks in the Library window (link to view/open containing folder, parent folder button) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1672139/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Lebar, thank you for working on this, that's awesome! The behaviour sounds good to me (but it's not my call). The reporter of this bug, `Alex Faaborg [:faaborg] (Firefox UX) ` has provided some UX feedback in comment 6. `Reveal in Bookmark Tree` sounds exciting (as in 'Rise the curtain on this bookmark!'), but probably plain vanilla `Open Containing Folder` will be best for Windows (perhaps with variations like `Open Enclosing Folder` for other operating systems, but don't worry about that now). FF also uses `Open Containing Folder` for downloads when you hover the folder icon. > Is there some specific vetting process for menu/GUI changes? Looking at the official owners and peers of the [Bookmark and History (Places)](https://wiki.mozilla.org/Modules/Desktop_Firefox#Bookmarks_.26_History) module, Mark or Marco should be the right people to review this. [Bug 1940079] Re: Strongswan in Focal doesn't support TPM 2.0 through the TSS2 interface...
> The stable Ubuntu releases are "feature frozen", which means that it is unlikely TSS2 will be enabled in Focal (exceptions are possible, but a very compelling reason is needed). Is it a new feature, though? Couldn't it be considered a necessary fix to actually make the already shipped tpm plugin (and the tpm_extendpcr command) functional? > Did TSS2 work before with Ubuntu's strongswan package? (I doubt so, as additional build-deps are needed, admittedly I'm not very familiar with the package.) As you say, it requires an additional dependency. However, while strongSwan supports tpm2-tss 1.x, the version shipped in Ubuntu bionic was too old. So before a 2.x version was included, it couldn't have worked (looks like Debian didn't include tpm2-tss at all before 2.1.0 was shipped with buster). Support for TPM 2.0 was added with strongSwan 5.5.0, based on tpm2-tss 1.x (> 1.0). The tpm plugin was originally released with strongSwan 5.5.2. In Debian, the plugin was not enabled until 5.6.1, packaged for testing before the buster release. Unfortunately, there was no configure check that enforced enabling tss-tss2 (I've added one now), which would have failed back then as support for tpm2-tss 2.x was only added with with 5.7.0. However, Debian buster eventually included strongSwan 5.7.2 and, as mentioned above, tpm2-tss 2.1.0, so that would have worked. But since the plugin was already enabled successfully months before, nobody apparently considered enabling tss-tss2, even if the plugin was non- functional. So it took nearly 4 years since the plugin was first enabled for somebody to actually try to use it and fail. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940079 Title: Strongswan in Focal doesn't support TPM 2.0 through the TSS2 interface... [Bug 1892145] Re: [SRU] smbclient cannot connect anonymously in Kerberos context (freeipa)
** Description changed: This is a Focal-only SRU. [Impact (from https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14344#c2)] If there is a problem reading credential cache then smbclient can core with double free. e.g. something like smbclient -L //foo.bar.com can result in Enter TUX-NET\tux's password: Failed to resolve credential cache 'DIR:/run/user/1000/krb5cc'! (No credentials cache found) *** Error in `smbclient': double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x560cd2ea8890 *** Aborted (core dumped) [Test Plan] Setting up a reproducer is not easy as the crash is not 100% reproducible, however the samba package ships with autopkgtests which - can be used for regression testing. + can be used for regression testing of the "base" samba functionalities, + but they do not cover integration with Kerberos. Proper testing requires + setting up a krb5 and making samba authenticate against with when the + krb5 credential cache is unresolved. Test PPA (amd64, ppc64el, s390x): https://launchpad.net/~paride/+archive/ubuntu/samba-lp1892145 [Regression Potential] The patch is a cherry-pick from upstream and has a little and well defined scope: it removes a free() in a given situation. The patch is a cherry-pick from upstream and has already been released in stable upstream branches and as such it's already shipped in a stable release of Ubuntu (Hirsute), in the current devel release (Impish) and in Debian Bullseye (currently testing). Therefore it can be considered field tested. The patch doesn't modify the behavior of any interface or user- facing component. The regression potential can be considered low. [Development Fix] The patch is included in the following upstream and Ubuntu releases: * >= 4.11.9 * >= 4.12.3 * >= 4.13.0 (>= Hirsute) [Original Description] It is not possible anymore to connect anonymously to a Samba server, if there is a Kerberos environment. It does not matter if there is a valid Kerberos ticket or not. I'm using FreeIPA. This is with smbclient 2:4.11.6+dfsg-0ubuntu1.4 For example, $ smbclient -L '//dist.ghs.nl/space' -N Failed to resolve credential cache 'KEYRING:persistent:60001'! (Unknown credential cache type) free(): double free detected in tcache 2 Aborted (core dumped) On Ubuntu 18.04, with smbclient 2:4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.18 it works as expected (albeit with many messages about failing krb5_init_context and smb_krb5_context_init_basic) The combination Samba + FreeIPA + Ubuntu has never worked since I started using FreeIPA a few years ago. But anonymous access to a Samba server did work, until I switched to Ubuntu 20.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892145 Title: [SRU] smbclient cannot connect anonymously in Kerberos context (freeipa) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/samba/+bug/1892145/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1844453]
Some hints/remarks to the fix: * the initial repository-add dialogs have not been adjusted yet, they still ask for username and password, however those are not used. The username field is for LO's own distinguishing between different instances, but not used in the authentication. You can leave the password empty, it is not used to authenticate. * to allow storing of the refresh token, you should enable persistent storage of credentials in Tools|Options → LO → Security → [x] allow persistent storage and [x] protect with master password. With that LO can store the refresh-token to use for further requests, and you only have to provide the master password. * With the persistent storage enabled, and trying to setup the connection for the first time, LO will ask for the masterpassword to look for an existing refresh token, on first setup there obviously won't be one so it will go to the login procedure: Copy'n'paste the link to your browser, grant LibreOffice the access to files → You will get an access token that you copy back to the LibreOffice dialog. LibreOffice will then ask once more for the masterpassword to store the refresh token obtained using the access-token. Also important: LO is not verified to use restricted scopes yet, so it can only use drive.file scope, meaning when accessing GDrive from LO you'll only see the files that you created with LibreOffice, other files will not be accessible (you will however be able to see the files created with LO in e.g. in your gdrive in browser) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1844453 Title: [upstream] Access to the Google remote account does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1844453/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This makes a lot of sense when looking up an external hostname. However, it makes very little sense when connecting to the hostname "localhost". I've learned that the browser vendors will avoid using AI_ADDRCONFIG or do it while using workarounds for the localhost case, see for instance: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614526 Without such a workaround, connecting to a IPv4-only service listening on 127.0.0.1 using the hostname "localhost" will fail unless the machine also has external IPv4 connectivity. Which is not what a user would expect, since the (lack of) external connectivity is irrelevant to the accessibility to the loopback interface. Therefore, when looking up "localhost", the loopback addresses ::1 and 127.0.0.1 should not be ignored by getaddrinfo() when using AI_ADDRCONFIG Tore Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1492621/comments/0 On 2012-07-27T14:11:30+00:00 Psimerda wrote: The same applies to *all* link-local IPv6 addresses as well as link- local IPv4 addresses. My feeling is that we should *never* discard literal IP adresses based on AI_ADDRCONFIG. At least not unless we check against *family* together with *scope* but even then it's very doubtful to go directly against user's input. As for names like 'localhost', 'localhost4' and various names you can use for node-local and link-local addresses, I'm strictly against trying to enumerate them as you cannot guess all possible names. Would you for example check the suffix ".local" and treat the result as a link-local FQDN? But it may be a global address also. I actually don't believe in any checks that work with the name and not the address. When you have the address, you can check it against several rules to guess (and usually know) the scope. Section C and D have R_RISCV_ALIGN type relocations. Function _start() calls function cc(), function ff() calls dd(). The size of each section is 8, 8, 64, 0xfffbc, 10 bytes before relaxation. In the first relaxation pass (info->relax_pass ==0), the R_RISCV_CALL relocations in section A and B couldn't be relaxed to R_RISCV_JAL, because the call from _start() to cc() and the call from ff() to dd() don't fit with 21-bit offset. The offset is 0x10001c indeed. In the first relaxation pass, nothing is done. In the third relaxation pass (info->relax_pass ==2), the R_RISCV_ALIGN relocations in section C and D could be relaxed. The sizes of section C and D were changed to 34 and 0xfffba bytes. Now, the offset of the call from _start() to cc() is 0xe, the offset from ff() to dd() equals to this value too. In the second round of relaxation, in the first pass (info->relax_pass ==0), the R_RISCV_CALL relocation in section A could be relaxed to R_RISCV_JAL. After the relaxation, section A's size is reduced by 4 bytes. So, section B's base address and every symbol go down 4 bytes forward. However section C, D and E will not go down 4 bytes, because of the .balign restriction placed in section C and D. But, when linker processes the relaxation of section B, it uses the original section B symbol addresses to calculate the offset of R_RISCV_CALL relocation (from ff() to dd()). The offset is within 1M bytes offset (0xe). So, the R_RISCV_CALL relocation is relaxed to R_RISCV_JAL. This is a mistake! When linker finally performs the relocation (in perform_relocation()), the section B's symbol has been adjusted, then the bug is exposed. I created a simple test case to trigger this issue: riscv64-unknown-linux-gnu-gcc -nostdlib -o a.out a.s align_1.s align_2.s c.s /tmp/ccgFgKhw.o: In function `ff': (.text+0x0): relocation truncated to fit: R_RISCV_JAL against symbol `dd' defined in .text section in /tmp/ccR0Ha6r.o Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/monero/+bug/1940505/comments/0 On 2019-11-10T03:37:51+00:00 Yitingwang16 wrote: Created attachment 12070 test case Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/monero/+bug/1940505/comments/1 On 2019-11-10T03:40:31+00:00 Yitingwang16 wrote: I have a fix locally which changes the common ld/ldlang.c. I can post to binutils mailing list for review. I am not sure whether there is a possibility of a similar problem occurring *between* passes instead of within a single pass. I.e. what if a call in B is within range and so gets relaxed in one pass, then in a later pass B moves down due to relaxation in a previous section - but the destination stays in the same place due to alignment? Is that possible? [Bug 1939937] Re: ath10k: "add target IRAM recovery feature support" breaks QCA9984 Firmware load capability
Hi, don't worry. linux/focal here means 5.4-generic, which is certainly not affected. linux/hirsute will then become the basis of hwe-5.11 in focal. So as long as linux/hirsute is being worked on, you'll have the fix in hwe-5.11/focal later. Since the results are positive as expected, I'll send out SRU patches later. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Hirsute) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Hirsute) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Hirsute) Assignee: (unassigned) => You-Sheng Yang (vicamo) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Status: Triaged => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Impish) Assignee: (unassigned) => You-Sheng Yang (vicamo) ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Focal) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Focal) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux-oem-5.13 (Ubuntu Focal) Assignee: (unassigned) => You-Sheng Yang (vicamo) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1939937 Title: ath10k: "add target IRAM recovery feature support" breaks QCA9984 Firmware load capability To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1939937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

If you add a line anywhere in the middle of the existing lines (insert above or below) and then try to save the change, the spreadsheet crashes. There is no crash after adding columns or sheets... just lines. And you can add a line at the end of the text and save just fine. The crash only occurs when you add a line in the middle of the sheet and try to save. I've tried creating a new spreadsheet of equal size and cannot reproduce the issue so I'm not sure what is special about this spreadsheet that causes the crash. The issue was reported in launchpad based off of Ubuntu 20.04 and Libreoffice 6.4.7 but it happens easily on 7.1.5 and 7.2.0 rc3. The corresponding launchpad bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735 I'll attach the faulty spreadsheet as well as the user's system state information (remember this is relative to 6.4.7, but the same thing happens on 7.2.0) Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/7 On 2021-08-18T16:10:05+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174390 stacktrace signature Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/8 On 2021-08-18T16:10:25+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174391 top of stacktrace Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/9 On 2021-08-18T16:10:49+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174392 segv analysis Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/10 On 2021-08-18T16:11:11+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174393 registers Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/11 On 2021-08-18T16:11:30+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174394 proc status Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/12 On 2021-08-18T16:11:48+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174395 proc maps Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/13 On 2021-08-18T16:12:42+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: Created attachment 174396 faulty-spreadsheet Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/14 On 2021-08-18T16:45:35+00:00 Miguelangelrv wrote: I cannot repro with Version: 7.2.0.4 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 9a9c6381e3f7a62afc1329bd359cc48accb6435b CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 21390; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL Please test with a clean profile, Menu/Help/Restart in Safe Mode Reply at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1938735/comments/15 On 2021-08-18T19:44:45+00:00 Heather Ellsworth wrote: I did not test with Windows and unfortunately I don't have a Windows environment for testing, but the issue is present in Ubuntu 20.04 and newer.
