[Bug 1932980] Re: window title in mate terminal not change after I logout from ssh

2021-06-19 Thread Norbert
My test results with MATE Terminal and two different SSH servers are
below:

* When I connect to 1st SSH server (openssh 7.6p1-4ubuntu0.3, Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
amd64) from any Ubuntu MATE version (from 12.04 LTS to 21.04) I see even worse
situation - window title does not change on SSH-login and after SSH-logout.
* When I connect to 2nd SSH server (openssh 6.7p1-5+deb8u8, Debian 8 armhf)
from any Ubuntu MATE version (from 12.04 LTS to 21.04) I see that window title
is changes correctly.

So I suppose that there is some incompatibility between SSH client and
SSH server which incorrectly report window title (actually prompt or
$PS1) change.

Please provide some info about your SSH server (its name, version, OS).

[Bug 1878279] Re: MSFT0004:00 06CB:CD98 Touchpad/trackpad mouse randomly not recognized from any given boot

2021-06-19 Thread Petteri P
Regarding my previous post what happened is that the touchpad started to
work again out of the blue. Before this the system had difficulties to
shutdown. The shutdwown process lasted for minutes and during that the
system displayed a message "i2c_designware AMDI0010:00: controller times
out". This lasted for a long time. So long that I had time to take a
photo of it which is attached.

Eventually the system managed to shutdown and now I that I turned on the
system the touchpad works again. Bizarre.

[Bug 1846423]

2021-06-19 Thread Josselin-dulac
Hello,
I don't have time right now to dig into all the stuff to properly propose a
patch, but I assume changing those lines in the file icalparser.c (line
1029-1033 in the current version) would work

```case ICAL_TRIGGER_PROPERTY:
/* Accept DATE-TIME and DURATION */
if (value_kind != ICAL_DATETIME_VALUE && value_kind !=
ICAL_DURATION_VALUE)
value_err = illegal_type;
break;
```

direct link to the file https://searchfox.org/comm-
central/source/calendar/libical/src/libical/icalparser.c#1029

If an active developer can add this patch, it would be very great (this
bug is pretty much annoying); if not possible I will see how to
participate directly in patching the file, but I'm not used to big
projects participations...

IIRC evaluation of && in C is lazy, so, as a duration is not a datetime,
will the second clause ever be tested?

Would be great though, if that is where the fix lies :)

Well as it's chaining inequality comparisons (to catch wrong types), it will
work; if you follow the link to the full source code of this file, this is how
the other elements are tested.
I'm not sure this is the most optimal way to test it (maybe it is, I don't know
of the preprocessor will optimize it, and my knowledge of this kind of stuff is
very far), but I chose to keep the code rules already present in the file :)
(And yes, it woulf be really great if an active developer could see this and
validate it for the next release...)

Geoff, is that a patch you could review and help uplift into

I sure would. I hate this error message too, but I've never had the time
to figure it out.

FWIW, `X-` properties are [allowed in the
specification](https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5545#section-3.8.8.2)
and should be ignored by implementations that don't understand them.

[Bug 1812456] Re: [MIR] libflatpak0

2021-06-19 Thread Andrew Hayzen
tl;dr; Flatpak currently considers remotes as trusted, so after you have
added one with a password at system level, you don't need a password to
install apps for that remote.

I don't about how polkit rules work, but this is just a comment
describing what happens from a user perspective with flatpak. If you
want to tighten it, I suggest discussing with upstream to ensure docs or
any other assumptions etc are correct (please also ensure any changes
make it into Debian, generally we have been able to avoid diffs with
Debian so far - we do have a diff right now as Debian is in freeze).

- Flatpak has two locations that you can add remotes and install apps to, user
level and system level. System level ones are available to all users, user
level ones are available to just that user
- Adding a flatpak remote or installing an app at *user* level does not require
any password

So far I think this all makes sense, the interesting part up for debate
is the next part.

- When a remote is added to flatpak at *system* level, it asks for a password
to verify the remote
- When an app is installed at *system* level for this trusted remote, it
installs without needing a password (as stated in previous comments, assuming
the user is in the wheel group)

To try this out you can do the following commands, the remote-add and
remote-delete will need a password, the install and uninstall won't.

$ flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists kdeapps --from

[Bug 1927868] Re: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1

2021-06-19 Thread Christian Rohmann
Yes, Billy Olsen, we are a little in doubt about this
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1927868/comments/18) as well.

We have been observing such non functioning gateways on our Train
installation occasionally also before this patch / update.

Usually a "clear gateway" and a recreation via the Horizon GUI by the
user fixed this - one more reason to pursue the idea of a race condition
as it then works on another attempt.

Also killing the master keepalived did work as it then switched over to
another node usually just worked.

With the recent change though, we appear to have had a larger number
broken gateways after migrations and node reboots.

[Bug 1933002] [NEW] VMs lost network access after hypervisor upgraded to systemd 245.4-4ubuntu3.7

2021-06-19 Thread Gael
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have a home server running Ubuntu 20.04.
It is using KVM to run several VMs (router, Wi-Fi access point, NAS, ...).
Everything has been running fine for years now, very happy, very grateful for
all the work but...

On June 17th, on the hypervisor systemd upgraded from 245.4-4ubuntu3.6
to 245.4-4ubuntu3.7 and all the VMs lost network connectivity.

Packages that were upgraded on June 17th:
 libnss-mymachines libnss-systemd libpam-systemd libsystemd0 libudev1
 systemd systemd-container systemd-sysv systemd-timesyncd udev

Package installation log:

I then tried to revert these packages.

apt-cache show libsystemd0

I find 2 versions, 245.4-4ubuntu3 & 245.4-4ubuntu3.7
Not sure why it is not 245.4-4ubuntu3.6 & 245.4-4ubuntu3.7 but anyway...

I reverted these packages to 245.4-4ubuntu3

sudo aptitude install libnss-systemd=245.4-4ubuntu3
systemd-timesyncd=245.4-4ubuntu3 systemd-sysv=245.4-4ubuntu3
libnss-mymachines=245.4-4ubuntu3 systemd-container=245.4-4ubuntu3
libpam-systemd=245.4-4ubuntu3 systemd=245.4-4ubuntu3 libsystemd0=245.4-4ubuntu3
sudo reboot

All the VMs have access to the network again.

My setup:

I have 2 NICs on the server:
- eno1 is my WAN plugged to my ISP's router and attached to the br-wan bridge
- enp2s0 is my LAN and is attached to the br-lan bridge

I use static addressing
The LAN is IPv4 and IPv6
The WAN is IPv4 only

wlx00c0caa5e44f is a USB Wi-Fi adapter attached to br-lan using hostapd
VMs use the classic vnet attachement

[Bug 1908375] Re: ceph-volume lvm list calls blkid numerous times for differrent devices

2021-06-19 Thread Dariusz Gadomski
I have verified the package in 2 ways:
* manually (no traces of blkid calls in the log)
* automated - by using juju charms to set up a ceph deployment

In both cases there were no issues, no regressions noticed.

Verification is successful.

[Bug 1930880] Re: Booting Ubuntu 21.04 from DVD takes more than 30 minutes and its environment are corrupted

2021-06-19 Thread Jambolpe Slopigo
Kubuntu 21.04

I wrote the ISO to a couple of DVD-RW.
I tested the discs on 2 other machines, completely different motherboards,
CPUs, DVD drivers.
One of them says
[FAILED] Failed to start Snap Daemon.Card State... submit kernel crash signature
[FAILED] Failed to start Ubuntu live CD installer.

One of them says
[FAILED] Failed to start Modem Manager.
[FAILED] Failed to start Snap Daemon.for details.d submit submit kernel crash
signature
[FAILED] Failed to start Ubuntu live CD installer.

I also tried writing the ISO to a USB stick using some tool. Booting from the
USB stick and installing Kubuntu 21.04 worked fine.
So, there is something specifically wrong with installing from DVD.
A couple of other people have the same problem. I haven't encountered a person
for whom install from DVD worked.

[Bug 418242] Re: Incorrect call to output plugins (with persistent error message) on copy

2021-06-19 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package inkscape - 1.1-1build1

---
inkscape (1.1-1build1) impish; urgency=medium

  * restrict ragel build-dep on [!i386], since it's not available there.
  * temporarily ignore test results on armhf: 1.1 introduced an unaligned
memory access somewhere.

[Bug 1931131] Re: Update the 465 and the 460 NVIDIA driver series

2021-06-19 Thread Sønke Lorenzen
I have tested 460.84 and 465.42 from jirsute-proposed on hirsute on a
system affected by https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-
graphics-drivers-465/+bug/1930733

The kernel oops still happens when I connect my Acer XF270HU monitor
with DisplayPort, but with HDMI both drivers worked.

I tested it with playing a bit of Hitman 2 with proton, and Total War:
Warhammer II which is a Linux native game.

I also checked that I can boot up with the new 450-server driver into a
desktop with DisplayPort, and the same with 460-server, and here I also
played the mentioned games without problems with DisplayPort

All tests where done with the default 5.11 kernel from Hirsute from the
linux-generic package

[Bug 1928535] Re: No disk space, mainline 5.10.37 and 5.11.20, 5.11.21 failed to build

2021-06-19 Thread James
I stumbled on this as I was messing around with my kernel. I noticed the
builds of 5.10.37+ all seem to link to the 5.11.0 builds:

https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.37/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.38/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.39/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.39/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.40/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.41/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.42/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.43/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.44/
https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.10.45/

is this a bug that points the builds of that branch to the 5.11.0
release?

[Bug 1905285] Re: socket-activated sshd breaks on concurrent connections

2021-06-19 Thread Steve Dodd
I'm seeing something similar to this (messages more like those in
underlying debian bug report) - in this case triggered by a script which
sshs in (invoking unison) twice in quick succession. Underlying hardware
is an ARM board which may a little slow, don't know if that helps to
trigger race?

I'm also a little confused as to whether socket activation is the
default under Ubuntu or not. My etckeeper history suggests it's been
enabled here since 2014, when records began .. so no idea if it was
something I enabled or not!

It is expected that updates may overwrite system files. Try creating
your own gschema.override file (for example, /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
/40_arctica-greeter.gschema.override) and put arctica section header and
your changes there. Then recompile schemas.

[Bug 1874096]

2021-06-19 Thread Alvin-l
In my understanding, it is not so much of the random destruction order
or QObject's, but that all QObject's in Python has to be destructed
before QCoreApplication. PyQt already solved it if the QCoreApplication
is created from the Python side, by ensuring all QObject's destruction
before QCoreApplication. but since in our case QCoreApplication is not
created from Python, their solution doesn't do anything for us.

In our case, the KritaPyQtPlugin destructor (and thus PyKrita::finalize)
is called during the destructor of QCoreApplication, which might be
triggering UB? So I wonder if the proper way to clean up is to call
PyKrita::finalize earlier, perhaps we can use the
QCoreApplication::aboutToQuit signal?

2021-06-19 Thread Amy-i
As far as I understand it, this is a race condition inside PyQt5 related
to the order of destruction of Python-based QObject instances. Since the
call that trigger the crash is the destruction of the plugin itself
(which in turn stops the Python engine, etc... as your stacktrace
shows), I believe only the PyQt5 authors can solve it.

Committed on 19/06/2021 at 08:32.
Pushed by alvinwong into branch 'master'.

Fix PyKrita cleanup using qApp::aboutToQuit to prevent crash

Suspecting that we can't have Python clean up its QObject's inside
QCoreApplication's destructor, but must be done before it.

[Bug 702884] Re: The event delete_self with inotyfywait never occur

2021-06-19 Thread Eriberto
Hi Anders,

Thanks for your message. I am the maintainer of inotify-tools in Debian.

Today I did several tests in Debian Sid, using your version (inotify-
tools_3.13-3) and the newer version (3.20.11.0-1). I can't reproduce
these errors. I got the following replies, without a freeze:

# inotifywait -e delete_self /tmp/foo
Setting up watches.
Watches established.
/tmp/foo DELETE_SELF
# inotifywait -e delete /tmp
Setting up watches.
Watches established.
/tmp/ DELETE foo

Considering other tests, I am convinced that the problem occurred in
kernel API or other environment control. So, I am closing this bug. Feel
free to reopen if needed.

Regards,

Eriberto

[Bug 1933006] [NEW] [SRU] Ubuntu Studio Support no longer on freenode

2021-06-19 Thread Erich Eickmeyer 
Public bug reported:

[Impact]

 * Users of Ubuntu Studio 20.04 LTS currently have a menu item that
takes them to the Freenode IRC web chat for the #ubuntustudio channel.
However, Ubuntu Studio's support channel no longer exists on Freenode.

 * Following the move from Freenode to libera.chat, there is no longer
an easy way to connect users to a web chat interface with a predefined
channel.

 * In Ubuntu Studio 20.10 and later, this menu item was changed to be a
weblink to the Ubuntu Studio Matrix chatroom via matrix.org, and are
directed to either install a Matrix client or use the Element web
interface. This Matrix chatroom, which was formerly bridged to
#ubuntustudio on Freenode, is now bridged to #ubuntustudio on
libera.chat.

[Test Plan]

 * Install Ubuntu Studio 20.04 LTS via either the Live ISO or
ubuntustudio-installer with ubuntustudio-menu.

 * Open weblink to Ubuntu Studio Support in launcher menu (or Activities
on GNOME).

 * Users are directed to Freenode's webchat and join ##ubuntustudio,
which is not the official room.

[Regression Potential]

 * The only regression potential might be confusion among users,
however, this was announced by the Community Council and IRC council.

 * Other regression potential might be that the web link stops working,
in which case, another SRU would be necessary.

** Affects: ubuntustudio-menu (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Apologies, I thought I'd replied to Colin's msg above.

I'd rebuilt the box a couple of time by the time I read that and no
longer had the make.log available as the disk had been reformated. Can
confirm that moving to 21.04 and no longer had the problem
