[Bug 1819817] Re: package libselinux1:amd64 2.7-2build2 failed to install/upgrade: пакет libselinux1:amd64 2.7-2build2 не может быть настроен, так как libselinux1:i386 другой версии (2.2.2-1ubuntu0.1)

2019-03-13 Thread Seth Arnold
Hello,

dpkg: ошибка при обработке пакета libselinux1:amd64 (--configure):
пакет libselinux1:amd64 2.7-2build2 не может быть настроен, так как
libselinux1:i386 другой версии (2.2.2-1ubuntu0.1)

You have an i386 version of 14.04's libselinux1 installed and the
upgrade tool tried to install the amd64 version of 18.04's libselinux1.

None of the tools expect to skip an LTS release, I don't know how well
upgrading from 14.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS directly will go. Does this sound
familiar?

The tools also expect i386 and amd64 versions of packages to be kept in
lockstep if you are going to have them both installed simultaneously. If
you don't know why the i386 versions are installed, maybe you can make
some progress by purging them with eg apt-get purge libselinu1:i386

I hope this helps.

Thanks

[Bug 1776173] Re: qt print dialog shipped with bionic ignores printer defaults

2019-03-13 Thread Sergio Callegari
Hi Dmitry,

I've been testing the package in cosmic-proposed in the last few days.
Sorry I have not reported earlier, but I encountered a little problem
and I wanted to look better at it for extra safety.

In fact, it was a problem with a single printer of the many I use while
roaming with my laptop and got fixed by updating the printer driver. The
QT packages are OK for me.

[Bug 1763892] Re: 144Hz/120Hz monitor but mutter seems to cap rendering at 60FPS

2019-03-13 Thread Daniel van Vugt
A few caveats to remember though:

 * In Wayland sessions, if the screen is idle then the mouse cursor will
slow to 60Hz (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/406)

 * Removing the 60Hz limit doesn't mean everything will happen at full

[Bug 1449631] Re: firewall-config does not run as root after authentication

2019-03-13 Thread Laurent Bigonville
Well the fact that it's not running as root is not the issue here as GUI
should never run as root.

However, if you are part of the sudo group on the machine, you should be
able to change the default zone. The issue is/was somewhere else.

Still a massive upgrade for me. Ive been working in Windows for the last 10
years with FPS/Hz ranging from 100-240. Loving ubuntu, but it feels so
choppy right now.

Cheers Daniel.

[Bug 1764047] Re: Unable to switch realm on authentication dialog

2019-03-13 Thread Cristian Măgherușan-Stanciu
For now Ubuntu 18.04 packages of openconnect-8.02 are available in my
PPA: https://launchpad.net/~cristi/+archive/ubuntu/openconnect

I also tried to create packages for 18.10 but those fail to compile and
I didn't have time to look into it yet, any help would be more than
welcome.

@Mike unfortunately I don't have more to spend on this, but if you could
make some packages and put them in a PPA maybe someone out there could
give it a try.

[Bug 1817097] Re: pvmove causes file system corruption without notice upon move from 512 -> 4096 logical block size devices

2019-03-13 Thread Frank Heimes
Decreasing importance from critical to medium, because the bug is known to the
community, it is already discussed in RH Bug 1669751, and here
https://www.redhat.com/archives/linux-lvm/2019-February/msg00018.html /
https://www.redhat.com/archives/linux-lvm/2019-March/msg0.html, and not
platform specific, nor specific to a certain Ubuntu release.
On top there are actions possible to easily avoid this situation, like
explicitly setting / forcing the sector size to be 4096 bytes or using a bigger
image size (>512 MB - which is not uncommon), so that the sector size default
changes to 4k anyway.
A patch was already suggested upstream:
https://sourceware.org/git/?p=lvm2.git;a=commit;h=dd6ff9e3a75801fc5c6166aa0983fa8df098e91a
Once that patch got upstream accepted and became picked-up in a new lvm2
version, it will eventually land in Ubuntu, too.

2019-03-13 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna via ubuntu-bugs
I confirm the patch is there, the package build and the packaging is in
sync with vbox trusty now.

the CVE is probably not exploitable with lts-xenial because only guest
tools are built, so the verification is not useful/possible.

[Bug 1775427] Re: [MIR] mailman3 to replace mailman, or drop mailman to universe and off server iso

2019-03-13 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
While preparing the MIR bugs for the involved soruces I found that some we
initially detected are already in main pulled in by
python3-django-openstack-auth:
- python3-csscompressor
- python3-django-compressor
- python3-rcssmin
- python3-rjssmin

Dropping those from our list we have to work on for mailman3.

Furthermore I have realized (thanks wgrant for explaining) that LP had problems
with the huge number of tasks (only when there are many subscribers). Therefore
I ahve dropped them to allow updates to the bug.
Instead I'll add the bug references (once the MIRs are created) to the
Description of this bug.
>From there one can as well easily get to the related MIRs.

[Bug 1817338] Re: HDMI sound output not selectable in 19.04 (but works in 18.10)

2019-03-13 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Tested with a cheap in-ear headphone
- when connecting it, gnome-shell prompts to use it, that works
- opening g-c-c 3.32, changing the output to the laptop audio and trying test
still output to the headset
- closing/reopening g-c-c, the headset is selected
- installed pavucontrol, changing the device in g-c-c doesn't lead to a change
pavucontrol
- enable cosmic apt source and install gnome-control-center/cosmic
- there selecting the laptop output makes pavucontrol updates immediatly, the
sound stop outputing through the headset (but doesn't go to the speaker, which
seems another bug)

-> seems like a g-c-c issue, closing the pulseaudio component one

[Bug 1819443] Re: Cannot boot installer on platforms requiring Device Tree

2019-03-13 Thread Lee Jones
1. Sounds good. Please let me know your findings.

2. The 142 currently supported DTBs are 4.2M total - the largest single
one is 68K.

3. Sub-trees would be fine. They are already formatted that way in the
kernel and the *.deb.

I don't think Grub knows anything about the system without the DT.

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2019-03-13 Thread Scott Millar
WORKAROUND on how to use keyboard Ctrl+Shift+/Alf+Shift+ shortcuts with
Ctrl+Shift as layout switch.

Order of keys pressed for layout switching is important. So
['Shift_L'] implies Control pressed first and Shift pressed
second. Inverse order won't work. You have to use ['Control_L']
for inverse order.

On the other hand application shortcuts are order-independent, so you
can use Ctrl+Shift+T or Shift+Ctrl+T in order to open new tab in Gnome
Terminal. Once you're using Ctrl+Shift for layout switching it's still
possible to use Shift+Ctrl+ for application shortcuts.

P.S.: Don't set switching keyboard layout with 'Ctrl+Shift' using XKB
options. In this case you'll get order-independent layout switching, but
all ways to invoke Ctrl+Shift+ shortcts will be broken.

P.P.S.: Take a note values of switch to next/previous input source are actually
arrays(lists).
It's possible to set multiple key combinations i.e. I use: ['Shift_L',
'Shift_L'] and ['Shift_R', 'Shift_R'] respectively.

[Bug 1819890] [NEW] Restarting gnome-shell produces images of applications running on other workspaces

2019-03-13 Thread Paul White
Public bug reported:

Restarting gnome-shell with 'Alt-F2,r and enter' produces images of
applications running on other workspaces which are not clickable.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Enable multiple workspaces
2) Start an application on each workspace
3) From any workspace, restart gnome-shell with 'Alt-F2, r and enter'

Expected outcome:

Each application is displayed only the workspace on which it was started

Actual outcome:

All applications are displayed on the current workspace but are only
images, i.e. they cannot be 'clicked'

Workaround:

To remove the unwanted images move to another workspace and return

[Bug 1775427] Re: [MIR] mailman3 to replace mailman, or drop mailman to universe and off server iso

2019-03-13 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
** Description changed:

+ TODO - references to all the MIR bug - one per affected package.
+
+ ---
+
mailman is python2, mailman3 is python3, but also it has new dependency
- stack.
+ stack due to adopting django but also splitting or rewriting a lot of
+ its components.

- Do we want src:mailman3 in main? bin:mailman3 pulls in above listed
dependencies (*)
- (*) and lynx, but dropped to suggests
+ Q: Do we want bin:mailman3 or bin:mailman3-full in main? (the latter pulls
+in src:mailman-suite as well). src:mailman-suite has potentially more
+things - django, hyperkitty, ruby-sass, uwsgi...
+ A: We analyzed this and we will need the full set of dependencies, even
+meaning MIRs are needed for all of the above listed (and more).

- Do we want bin:mailman3 or bin:mailman3-full in main? (the latter pulls
- in src:mailman-suite as well)
+ Q: Before proceeding further with assignment/doing technical work in
+driving above MIRs, a product level yes/no answers should probably be
+answered for above two questions.
+ A: Discussed in several sprints now, as uncomfortable as it is we will go
+through the mass-MIR processing

- src:mailman-suite has potentially more things - django, hyperkitty,
- ruby-sass, uwsgi...
-
- MIRs needed for all of the above listed.
-
- Before proceeding further with assignment/doing technical work in

+ FYI: the paperwork for this is so massive that we prepare it as team effort
in git before going to open LP bugs. If interested you can peek at:

[Bug 1767564] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Workspaces only change on primary monitor

2019-03-13 Thread torzsmokus
the tweak works fine for the original issue.
but still, if you choose the option "Workspaces span displays", the Activities
(and the hot corner) on the secondary display shows windows on all workspaces,
not only the current one as expected.
should I file a new bug for this?

[Bug 1819728] Re: Please backport "fix race between daemon-reload and other commands #8803" to 16.04 (for UC16) and 18.04 (for UC18)

2019-03-13 Thread Michael Vogt
** Description changed:

  [Impact]
On Ubuntu Core we recently hit the a race in daemon-reload and systemctl
twice. This race is fixed in systemd upstream: "fix race between daemon-reload
and other commands #8803".

  [TEST CASE]
To reproduce its enough to run:

  for i in $(seq 50); do
    systemctl daemon-reload &
    systemctl start ssh &
  done

This will result in "systemctl start ssh" hanging in ppoll. With the
patch applied the hangs go away.

  [REGRESSION POTENTIAL]
Low, this change is already in the systemd upstream and in use cosmic and
later.
+
+ The upstream fix is https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/8803
