[Bug 1812964] [NEW] compiz: segfault at 0 ip af976f3d sp bfbd6ff0 error 4 in libunityshell.so (Disco)

2019-01-23 Thread Khurshid Alam
Public bug reported:

Unityshell crashes when starting and screen goes back to unity greeter.
This seems to happening after ccsm python3 port. Though downgrading
compiz works, I suspect it is breaking when compiling against newer
libraries.

Syslog doesn't really say much other than this:

compiz[7669]: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key/usr/bin/compiz (core) -
Fatal: Couldn't open display :0

unity-panel-service[7677]: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyUnable to init
server: Could not connect: Connection refused

Log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/hCSFVXQb72/

I try to get stacktrace running unity --advance-debug from tty in
flashback metacity session, but I am getting "error debugging symbols"
and it freezes after that.

Partial Trace: https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/hvmhbRVDP8/

OS: Ubuntu 19.04
Graphics: Intel n4200/GME 965/, Amd A10

Edit: Alberts Muktupāvels who authored ccsm python3 port confirmed it,
so setting it as confirmed.

Strangely, it doesn't crash under valgrind. Although valgrind does
mention:

[Bug 1810647] Re: ubi-setup-console crashes when non English language is selected in KDE front end

2019-01-23 Thread Rik Mills
The solution in this old bug fixes the crash for me:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/console-setup/+bug/953328

i.e. a no change rebuild of console-setup

[Bug 1788928] Re: psmouse: after sleep/suspend thinkpad touchpad not functional

2019-01-23 Thread Mathias
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1786574 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786574

Commenting to help others: I'm on Ubuntu 18.10 on a Lenovo L540 laptop and had
the same problem.
I didn't have i2c_i801 in my blacklist either, but still the touchpad would be
unresponsive after suspend (so not a duplicate of #1786574).

Adding "psmouse.synaptics_intertouch=0" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in
/etc/default/grub seems to have solved it for me as well.

[Bug 1802283] Re: system freezes

2019-01-23 Thread jnns
I did a memory test with memtest86 that ran around 5h through the night
and it passed 48/48 tests with 0 defective bits.

I'm now on 4.19.1-041901-generic and didn't have a crash since my last
post! (Although it did crash on 4.19 as I mentioned on 2018-11-12).

My workflow didn't change at all: I still connect my laptop to an
external monitor via Thunderbolt and have it attached to the power
outlet at the same time. Suspending the laptop over the course of
several days I got uptimes of at least 6 days.

So far, so good!

welcome.

[Bug 1812968] [NEW] PC does not turn on the problem with the disk.

2019-01-23 Thread Александр
Public bug reported:

1. Turn on the PC.
2. I expect the inclusion and loading of the desktop.
3. The computer freezes, the screen turns off, the disk is not activated.
To turn on the computer, you must select recovery mode, or an earlier kernel.
In this case, there is a delay when you start a certain disk. When booting with
an early kernel, the screen resolution becomes low, with no choice.

[Bug 1796027] Re: Update openjdk-11 to 11.0.1 -> Backport it from Ubuntu 18.10

2019-01-23 Thread Thomas
Is there any information about this topic?

I have to do a update planing for hundreds of Ubuntu Systems for February and
this is
a critical (current blocking) topic. A manual installation is not a solution as
our
policy specifies the use of the Ubuntu/Repo. JDK10 is a big problem, because of
the
missing TLS1.3 support and the End of Support state.

No ETA and no Status update for 2 months is not satisfying. Only if people ask
for
a status the ticket will be recognized with it's importance to the users.

[Bug 1796027] Re: Update openjdk-11 to 11.0.1 -> Backport it from Ubuntu 18.10

2019-01-23 Thread Alexey
This issue completely devaluates the conception of LTS releases as
stable and reliable. That's shame, @Canonical.

We will notify them if the systemd does not fix the issue. So far, after
the systemd upgrade, the server reboots fine in 24h test (reboot once at

[Bug 1812798] Re: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.24-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: installed mysql-server-5.7 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2019-01-23 Thread Karl Stenerud
Hi,

Your /var/log/mysql/error.log has the following: [ERROR] [FATAL] InnoDB:
Table flags are 0 in the data dictionary but the flags in file ./ibdata1
are 0x4000!

Are you attempting to open a mysql 8 database with mysql 5? I don't
think that's supported. Make sure all traces of mysql 8 are removed
(including databases) before installing mysql 5.

I'm marking this as invalid for now, but if this error really is caused
during normal operation of mysql 5 without interference from an old
mysql 8, please let us know and reopen the ticket. In such a case you
should probably also check on the mysql bug tracker
https://bugs.mysql.com/

This could be because you hit a bug. It is also possible that this binary
or one of the libraries it was linked against is corrupt, improperly built,
or misconfigured. This error can also be caused by malfunctioning hardware.
Attempting to collect some information that could help diagnose the problem.
As this is a crash and something is definitely wrong, the information

[Bug 1805668] Re: Building armhf and arm64 Raspberry Pi 3 images

2019-01-23 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
In the meantime: with bionic daily raspi3 images enabled (which are by
default ran with PROPOSED=1, so including all the required packages), we
can see that the raspi3 rootfs builds are succeeding for both arm64 and
armhf. All other daily builds seem to be working correctly as well.
Additionally to that, I have confirmed through the manifests that
raspi3-firmware is no longer used.

[Bug 1805668] Re: Building armhf and arm64 Raspberry Pi 3 images

2019-01-23 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Adam, that's certainly something worth considering - not sure if we'll
make it for the bionic .2 point-release though. The problem is that
basically linux-firmware-raspi2 is constructed from stripped
raspberrypi/firmware tarballs, so including additional binary files from
a different project (RPi-Distro/bluez-firmware) might not be well-
received - especially for precompiled binaries. We'd probably have to
create a separate source package for this and get it into
multiverse/restricted. I'll discuss it with more experienced archive
admins and check what is the best way forward. We'll want to have this
ASAP for sure.

[Bug 1812373] Re: Desktop is not restored correctly after screen saver

2019-01-23 Thread Reuben Thomas via ubuntu-bugs
@vanvugt: I had a look at the other bug and its proposed fix. I do not
have the package gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock installed, and the
recent update's changelog suggests that the update fixes a bug in that
package, so I'm not sure how it could be the cause of this bug?

As shown with the screenshots and availability, I hope it is made clear
that this is not a snapd bug per se but a matter of lack of published

[Bug 1586988] Re: Version 2.10 is converted to 2.1

2019-01-23 Thread Colin Watson
I don't think snapcraft can just "treat the version always as a string"
without departing from (unfortunate) YAML syntax:

  >>> import yaml
  >>> yaml.safe_load('version: 2.10')
  {'version': 2.1}
  >>> yaml.safe_load('version: "2.10"')
  {'version': '2.10'}

Perhaps the right answer is to go through documentation and make sure

2019-01-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package openldap - 2.4.47+dfsg-2ubuntu1

---
openldap (2.4.47+dfsg-2ubuntu1) disco; urgency=medium

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #1811630). Remaining changes:
- Enable AppArmor support:
  - d/apparmor-profile: add AppArmor profile
  - d/rules: use dh_apparmor
  - d/control: Build-Depends on dh-apparmor
  - d/slapd.README.Debian: add note about AppArmor
- Enable GSSAPI support:
  - d/patches/gssapi.diff, thanks to Jerry Carter (Likewise):
- Add --with-gssapi support
- Make guess_service_principal() more robust when determining
  principal
  - d/configure.options: Configure with --with-gssapi
  - d/control: Added heimdal-dev as a build depend
  - d/rules:
- Explicitly add -I/usr/include/heimdal to CFLAGS.
- Explicitly add -I/usr/lib//heimdal to LDFLAGS.
- Enable ufw support:
  - d/control: suggest ufw.
  - d/rules: install ufw profile.
  - d/slapd.ufw.profile: add ufw profile.
- Enable nss overlay:
  - d/rules:
- add nssov to CONTRIB_MODULES
- add sysconfdir to CONTRIB_MAKEVARS
  - d/slapd.install:
- install nssov overlay
  - d/slapd.manpages:
- install slapo-nssov(5) man page
- d/{rules,slapd.py}: Add apport hook.
- d/slapd.init.ldif: don't set olcRootDN since it's not defined in
either the default DIT nor via an Authn mapping.
- d/slapd.scripts-common:
  - add slapcat_opts to local variables.
  - Fix backup directory naming for multiple reconfiguration.
- d/{slapd.default,slapd.README.Debian}: use the new configuration style.

  - install slapo-nssov(5) man page

openldap (2.4.47+dfsg-2) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Reintroduce slapi-dev binary package. (Closes: #711469)
Thanks to Florian Schlichting.
  * Do not call gnutls_global_set_mutex(). (Closes: #803197)
  * Use dh_auto_* to build and install contrib modules.
- Stop patching the clean rule in smbk5pwd's Makefile.
  * Explicitly list overlays and man pages installed by slapd package in
slapd.install and slapd.manpages files.
  * Set common variables for contrib Makefiles by make(1) command line instead
of patching every Makefile.
  * Build and install more contrib plugins in a new slapd-contrib package:
- pw-apr1 and pw-netscape (Closes: #592362)
- pw-pbkdf2 (Closes: #794999)
  * Import the slapo-pw-pbkdf2 man page from upstream git master and install
it with the slapd-contrib package.
  * Add smbk5pwd to slapd-contrib and turn slapd-smbk5pwd into a transitional
package. Drop smbk5pwd README since it now has a man page which is a
better resource for users.
- Use Breaks to ensure that slapd is not upgraded in between removing the
old smbk5pwd module and installing the new one.
  * Include the apr1-atol.pl and apr1-lota.pl helper scripts in the
slapd-contrib package as examples.
  * Merge remaining contrib Makefile patches into a single contrib-makefiles
patch.

openldap (2.4.47+dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
- reverted GnuTLS handshake change in libldap as it regressed slapd
  (Reopens: #861838)
  * Update Standards-Version to 4.2.1.

[Bug 1790855] Re: [MIR] gpsd

2019-01-23 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Hi,
all packaging quality issues are adressed in 3.18.1-1 which is in Debian
experimental.
The maintainer wants to wait to do the transition until Buster is released.

But we could continue our evaluation here.
1. I'd ask to re-evaluate the package at version 3.18.1-1
That has fixed all lintian --pedantic warnings and got rid of python2
2. once that is ok we could ask the security Team to do the reivew to
eventually be ready once
Debian makes the move to 3.18.1-1

Setting the state back to new to be re-evaluated.
