[Bug 1604333] Re: nm-applet crashes when connecting to a wireless network, around password prompt

2016-12-17 Thread Lukas
For me, connecting to a different network works just fine. I could not
find any difference between those two networks while the working one is
hosted by a "Fritz!Box" by AVM and the not working one is hosted by a
"D-Link" device that links back to the working one via wired Ethernet
connection.

My specifications are the same as in the bug description with these differences:
- Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.4.0-53-generic
- ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.4

Sure, I can attempt to test. It needs Kerberos to fail, while another
mechanism is possible. So fix up the packaging errors noted in bug
1648898 so that GSS-NTLMSSP is actually registered properly, then just

2016-12-17 Thread richardbrinkman
A fresh ubuntu install with just update-notifier-common installed works
fine. Doing a `apt install apt-config-auto-update` gives the error.
Problems persist, even after `apt remove apt-config-auto-update`. Each
time the system boots / logs in the update-notifier crashes.

[Bug 1649462] Re: grub2 missing from manifest on 17.04 so fails to boot

2016-12-17 Thread Julien Lavergne
I pushed a potential fix to the seed. I hope it will be enough.

Apparently, grub is put on flavors ISO just by the recommend of Ubiquity.
See :
http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/germinate-output/xubuntu.zesty/live
And :
http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/germinate-output/ubuntu.zesty/live

Since lubuntu uses no-follow-recommends, we miss this one, so I put it
explicitly on the seed.

Hello.

yaml-cpp is maintained by Debian. If need to version bump, you need to
direct your request to them.

[Bug 1650737] [NEW] Written text disappears when trying to place a cursor in a new position

2016-12-17 Thread GTriderXC
Public bug reported:

As You can see in the video, I'm trying to work with previously written
text in a Facebook app on M10 HD with OTA-14:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M9AyGupkRc&feature=youtu.be

Every time I try to place a cursor in a new position, I have to start
writing the last word all over again unless I do not hide and show the
keyboard again (You can see the "solution" at 2:24)

I faced this issue on Kubuntu 16.04 when upgraded plasma to 5.8.4.
Workaround seems to work, except when entering password for openvpn

[Bug 1650740] [NEW] dhclient depends on fstab 16.04LTS

2016-12-17 Thread Chris Puttick
Public bug reported:

As noted here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libguestfs/+bug/1632405

dhclient-script attempts to read fstab and if not available is unable to
continue; while a workaround has been provided in the upstream for the
dependent (and fairly critical) package, which will hopefully make it
into the 16.04 repos soon, the bug does seem to be in dhclient-script,
and presumably is easily fixable.

I have. The package maintainer seems to be a (former) grad student that
is completely unresponsive. Since he/Debian doesn't seem to care, I was
hoping Canonical would since their LTS OS has a noncompiling header.

[Bug 1650752] [NEW] Thinkpad Yoga 13 fails to suspend after update to 4.8.0.30.39

2016-12-17 Thread kaeru
Public bug reported:

It suspends then automatically resumes a few seconds later. Latest
kernel update brings back screen auto-rotate feature, but also breaks
suspend. Not sure if this is related. Previous few kernel releases had
auto-rotate feature disabled, but suspend worked properly and did not
resume from suspend automatically.

[Bug 1650752] Re: Thinkpad Yoga 13 fails to suspend after update to 4.8.0.30.39

2016-12-17 Thread kaeru
This seems to be related to a change in enabling the rotate function
again. Previous kernels also resume automatically after a few seconds.

I suspect that the auto-rotate feature must be trigerring some signal
that causes the system to resume?

How do I disable rotate feature of Thinkpad?

[Bug 1649019] Re: Warzone 2100 freezes repeatedly in full screen mode

2016-12-17 Thread Felix Oxley
The Warzone devs respond as follows:

   http://developer.wz2100.net/ticket/4540

Pretty sure this isn't our issue per se.
We use SDL 2, so, that issue you are having is actually either SDL 2, or
video driver, or gdm issue.
Nothing we can do in our codebase to fix that, sorry.

[Bug 1650748] Re: package nginx-full 1.4.6-1ubuntu3.7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 7

2016-12-17 Thread Thomas Ward
You've got something listening on Port 80 already and it isn't killed
off before you are running your update. You also have Apache installed
too, so you are going to have quite a few update conflicts with binding
to port 80.

Ultimately not a bug though.

[Bug 1650765] [NEW] After formatting EFi partition

2016-12-17 Thread bharatgourabdas
Public bug reported:

I formatted the EFI partition(Win 10 pre-installed) during a new
installation of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Details:
I restored Ubuntu 14.04LTS from an image from an older system with BIOS mode.
But when I updated grub on new machine(which was in EFI only mode) for some
reason the system was booting in to low resolution and this affected the UI
inside the restored the OS also.

To fix this I installed the Ubuntu 16 just to restore the booting setup,
but that did not fix the problem, so I formatted the EFI partition and
then this bug(if it is) came up at the end of installation.

[Bug 1637800] Re: add a motd script for news

@xnox:

Totally agreed on https. I just uploaded that fix to zesty, defaulting
to https://motd.ubuntu.com (which exists now, it didn't at the time),
and enforcing that all URLs should start with https://.

The .timer systemd unit + caching + periodic refresh is interesting,
indeed. I'll look into a rewrite of update-motd to do it this way.
What minimum version of systemd would I need for it to work this way?

[Bug 1650753] Re: not runnig as it was used to do

2016-12-17 Thread Paul White
Unfortunately, we cannot work on this report because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How
to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:

1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Sometimes it is better to raise problems you are having in the support
tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if
they are bugs. You can also find help with your problem in the support
forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking
at http://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org. For help on
reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.

Thanks!

[Bug 1648901] Re: SPNEGO crash on mechanism failure

2016-12-17 Thread Eric Desrochers
I reviewed the src code of X/Y/Z and only X is affected.

Y/Z already have the patch.

[Bug 1650751] Re: bluetooth connection keeps getting turned off after update

2016-12-17 Thread jerrylamos
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1650750 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1650750

Trusty LTS no problem with keyboard, same PC, same keyboard, different
partition.

On Xenial LTS, All Settings -> BlueTooth -> Devices -> Anker A7721 ->
turn keyboard on, "On" flashes on screen and shuts right off.

Why did Linux turn the keyboard off??

Xenial used to stay on before last update.

The gss-ntlmssp package installs a file in /etc/gss/mech.d which is
supposed to make it get loaded.

It doesn't work for two reason. Firstly, it gets completely ignored
because its filename doesn't end in ".conf".

Secondly, it contains an incorrect entry for the shared library path. So we
end up doing this:
-
stat("/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gss/${prefix}/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gssntlmssp/gssntlmssp.so",
