Matthew, adding Google accounts should have always been working. It may
be that you didn't have network connectivity (by the way, we probably
need some error messages in this case)? Could you try with a Facebook or

Now, after visiting Gnome rather than Gnome classic or Gnome fallback, I

2014-10-13 Thread Ilari
I have now added log files, even few times. And you should note that
some of those are with kernel not activating the bug, those are for
helping to find the reason.

I also need to add that now bug is effictive all the time, it has now
coming in ramdon. In the begin it comes all the time.

[Bug 1104230] Re: DisplayPort 1.2 MST support is missing in the Intel driver

2014-10-13 Thread Vincent Gerris
Hi Dariusz,

I have a Dell E7440 laptop with a docking station with at the moment 2 monitors
attached.
1 is using VGA, 1 DVI, but now they are mirrored again.
With the patched kernel I had, I had multiple monitors visible.
With my own kernel, they worked, with yours they just showed the screens but
gave no signal.
As far as I understand, this hub support (for MST?) makes sure not 1 but 2
screens are identified.
I still do not understand which parts (kernel, xorg, videodriver) are needed to
get it working.
When I have some spare time I will look in to it further.
I cannot afford to bork it, because I work on this machine :).

Greetings Vincent

apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected precise

** Description changed:

I did not wrote the bug in Question #255613 but I have similar problems.
If Xscreensaver starts, it will never come back to working stage.

Possible this is a different bug from coming from hibernate, but result
is similar so it might be mixed effect.

  Here is report from questions:

- Just lost 2.0 TB hard drive of Alienware X51 that had Ubuntu 12.04.
- Replaced with 4.0 TB hard drive and installed Ubuntu 14.04. Set aside
- 20 GB of swap space. Left 2.0 TB unused. When keyboard and mouse have
- been idle for about 20 minutes, computer seems to hibernate. Will
- sometimes wake up, but it takes at least 10 minutes of periodically
- moving the mouse or pressing a key to make it wake up. Pressing power
- button once does not work either. Sometimes it won't wake up at all.
- Turned off all suspend, hibernate, screen dimming, etc. functions in
- Ubuntu System Settings. Don't mind the screen dimming, but downloads do
- not finish unless it's kept awake by using the keyboard or mouse every
- 5-10 minutes while it downloads.

[Bug 1380120] Re: Manage Scopes -> All Is Unusable

Correction. This is a QML compilation issue. Removing
~/.cache/QML/unity8-dash makes this go away for me.

I don't get this, but the other bug goes away if I remove
~/.cache/QML/unity8-dash, so this seems to be a QML precompilation
issue.

[Bug 1380095] Re: Gnome Fallback[s] don't work in 14.04. Work once ONLY if reinstalled

2014-10-13 Thread Alberts Muktupāvels
Have you tried to create new user and login with it in flashback
session? Please try it.

You have changed panel background to color and/or image right? If you
will be able to login in flashback session with new user without
problems then you need to reset panels background to default.

You can login in any working session.
1) You will need dconf editor:
sudo apt-get install dconf-editor
2) Open editor then navigate to panels settings:
org -> gnome -> gnome-panel -> layout -> toplevels
3) There will be listed all your panels. Under each panel there should be one
more step -> background. But only if you have changed background settings.
4) Under each background you need to reset 'type' to 'none'

If background was only problem then now you should be able to use
flashback session.

[Bug 1380231] Re: Potential Vulnerability for X509 Certificate Verification

Right from the plugins documentation (--help) of the plugins:

Please note that this plugin does not check if the presented server
certificate matches the hostname of the server, or if the certificate
has a valid chain of trust to one of the locally installed CAs.

The question now is, how do you come to the conclusion, that the plugins
"didn't check ... the expired date of the certificate."?

signal from NetworkManager[1] that ConnectionManager.Powered on ril_1
has changed to false.

There should be no ConnectionManager interface, so the signal should not
be sent.

This happens only for ril_1.

Version: Rtm r95

What happened:
Sat phone in flight mode
Saw in my logs that ConnectionManager.Powered was set to false

What should have happened:
ConnectionManager.Powered should not have changed before entering flight mode
