[Bug 1066529] Re: All jobs stopped, epson_inkjet_printer_filter failed
Epson driver just does not work. I tried Ubuntu 14.04 with all available drivers, i always got filter error. If you try to call the filter from bash it says: "no such file or directory". I compiled the filter myself, then a cammand line call gave me "insufficient options" which looked promising, but the filter did not work. Unfortunately there is zero documentation for the filter, so i could not get it to spit out a log, althoug the source code has some debugging code. Openprinting.org gives information that is just a lie. This printer driver does not work. As last resort i chose "turboprint", a 30 EUR software which is not GPL but at least worked perfectly from the beginning. Even printing PDF files on a DVD surface on an Epson XP-750 works perfectly. I am running turboprint on a dedicated print server on Ubuntu 14.04 without X, this works perfectly, not the driver provided by epson. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1066529 Title: All jobs stopped, epson_inkjet_printer_filter failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/1066529/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1331513] Re: 14e4:165f tg3 eth1: transmit timed out, resetting on BCM5720
A little in-between info. I saw you added the bios-outdated tag. As this is a quick fix, I've updated the bios first to 2.1.3 (latest as to my info), and re-ran the test. It still crashes (this was with the 3.13.0-29-generic kernel). I guess this would remove the bios-outdated-tag. The tests with the scatter-gather disabled ran all night, without a single crash. This might be a strong clue. I'll now upgrade to the latest mainline, do the tests, and report back here, so we can verify whether it is fixed or not in the latest release. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1331513 Title: 14e4:165f tg3 eth1: transmit timed out, resetting on BCM5720 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-poweredge/+bug/1331513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1290110] Re: Fan stops after resume from suspend leading to overheating; requires reboot to fix [HP Probook 4710s and many others]
Hi Dhinak. Which kernel does work for you? I tested 3.13.0-24, then 3.13.0-27 and since this week there is 3.13.0-29 to upgrade to. For my two HP nx8220 all 3 kernels do not control the cpu fan correctly! Both laptops ran Ubuntu since 7 years without major problems. My 2 laptops are: HP Compaq nx8220 (PY518EA#UUZ)/0934, BIOS 68DTV Ver. F.16 07/11/2007 I do not agree that this bug has a "Fix Released". The upstream bug is "resolved - patch available", but there is a discussion that this patch only solves it for some hardware - not all! And for latest Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS!) it is not solved until the patch has has been backported to kernel 3.13.x - this has not been done yet either. Therefore I think we should rewind this report to "Confirmed" to prevent affected people from opening new reports about the same issue. Please write if you disagree. BTW: the workaround to force Powersave does work, but makes our laptops unusable slow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1290110 Title: Fan stops after resume from suspend leading to overheating; requires reboot to fix [HP Probook 4710s and many others] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1290110/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1331452] Re: Please backport current CVEs for Precise LTS openssl098
Seth, thanks for looking at this. The mention of debian/patches/fix_renegotiation.patch in the changelog is a cut and paste mistake from my part. I only backported the CVEs from Lucid, not the other patches. If you think that the other patches are required let me know and I'll see what I can do. Regarding crypto/cms/cms_smime.c, it comes from iteration mistakes between my environments. I fixed it and the new debdiff includes the missing match. The package builds fine on precise with the added patch. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1331452 Title: Please backport current CVEs for Precise LTS openssl098 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl/+bug/1331452/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for your bug report. We might need input from design there. [Bug 1329254] Re: VMs do not become inactive during the reboot on saucy and later hosts
Thanks a bunch for working on this. I am in the process of verifying if 1.2.5 libvirt fixes our issue in the manner we use it. This version being in utopic and our servers being in trusty, it's not easy testing this on the host servers without making too many changes. I dont have any other boxes except a mac mini 5.2. I haven't used this for a long time and not sure what other problems that would throw in this but I'm still going to try a trusty install and pull this version and see if I could make it work with utah. [Bug 1329015] Re: getdeb repository not work
Hallo I experienced this very same issue. I looked into the squid access log and found the following: 1403166246.295317 192.168.0.29 TCP_MISS/302 778 GET http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu/dists/trusty-getdeb/games/i18n/Translation-de.bz2 - HIER_DIRECT/144.76.200.19 text/html 1403166246.297 0 192.168.0.29 TCP_DENIED/403 3727 GET http://screenshots.getdeb.net/dists/trusty-getdeb/games/i18n/Translation-de.bz2 - HIER_NONE/- text/html So for indexes you have a simple solution: use .getdeb.net instead of archive.getdeb.net! But then I stumbled upon another redirect issue: 1403167869.858 1193 192.168.178.24 TCP_MISS/302 429 GET http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu/pool/apps/c/calibre/calibre-bin_1.40.0-1%7egetdeb1_amd64.deb - HIER_DIRECT/144.76.200.19 application/x-debian-package 1403167870.920 0 192.168.178.24 TCP_DENIED/403 3770 GET http://mirror.lagoon.nc/pub/getdeb/ubuntu/pool/apps/c/calibre/calibre-bin_1.40.0-1%7egetdeb1_amd64.deb - HIER_NONE/- text/html So I had to add some more line to the mirror list. [Bug 1327670] Re: WiFi connects to AP, but doesn't work. Setting rate to auto fixes it.
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Fresh 14.04 install on a Packard Bell Notebook. WiFi device: 02:00.0 Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8192SE Wireless LAN Controller (rev 10) rtl8192se kernel module If connecting to my home WiFi, it shows as connected, but there is no connectivity. I can't ping anything, not even the access point itself, althought DHCP settings are retrieved correctly. iwconfig reports a rate stuck at 1Mb/s, although link quality is 70/70 and Signal level -28dBm. If I set the rate to auto with "iwconfig wlan0 rate auto", it switches to 54 Mb/s (max the AP supports) and everything seems to work fine (I used it for few hours now, downloaded few 100 MB, mostly Ubuntu packages). When connecting to an Android Hotspot, the problem doesn't occur, thus it seems to be AP dependent. Difference in dmesg between connecting to the "bad" and the "good" AP: When connecting to the bad one, it additionally shows this 2 lines: [10961.059621] rtl8192se :02:00.0 wlan0: disabling HT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP [10961.059626] rtl8192se :02:00.0 wlan0: disabling VHT as WMM/QoS is not supported by the AP Don't know if that's related. I've been connected to this AP with a lot of devices (mainly mobile) without any issues. The AP is a Linksys WRT54GL with Tomato 1.28 firmware. [Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
@David Henningsson Hi David, Have installed the new bluemantest from the ppa and for me it works. Thank you. It works in the same way that editing the Pulseaudio.py file worked as specified by Hartmut. I.e. there are quirks (specified in post #81) to navigate to actually get the sound routed to the headphones, it's not simply a case of connecting the headphones and everything else is seamless. In particular, i) even after pairing/trusting the headphones in blueman I couldn't select the A2DP profile (pulseaudio[1926]: [pulseaudio] module-bluetooth-device.c: Profile not connected, refused to switch profile to a2dp; pulseaudio[1926]: [pulseaudio] module-bluetooth-device.c: Default profile not connected, selecting off profile) until I ran Setup for the headset in blueman ii) had to manually select the headset in Sound Settings iii) selecting the headset (Output tab) in Sound Settings caused A2DP to switch Off iv) switching A2DP back on in blueman showed A2DP assigned in Sound Settings (Output tab) UNTIL I went into the Input tab to select the headphones there and then A2DP dropped out in the Output tab. Selecting A2DP after the headset was selected in both Output and Input tabs allowed things to work as required. @Kiori Indeed. In my case the irony is that without blueman (which I originally didn't have installed) I couldn't get the headset to work at all. So despite blueman having problems of its own it has actually helped to resolve my problem to the extent where I can actually use the headset albeit by going around the houses. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283003 Title: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/blueman/+bug/1283003/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
