[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
(1) I found that in dconf-editor -> desktop -> ibus -> general -> hotkey both next-engine & next-engine-in-menu are set by default to 'Alt+Shift_L' I do not know whether this is related or not. (2) Switching the language indicator (using the mouse) to my other language (Hebrew) allows me to switch between hebrew and english using Alt+Shift (defined in dconf: org -> gnome -> desktop - > input-sources -> xkb-options ['grp:alt_shift_toggle'] Unfortunately, I have to do this for each window separately, that is, if the indicator shows "En", I will not be able to switch language using the Alt+Shift. (3) I agree with the previous post - I do not see the point in this change from previous behaviour. The system is less usable than before (unless I am missing something). [Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.
- Super-Space is NOT working at all. This is quite a surprise. Changing key is one thing, but default key isn't working is so simple a bug that shouldn't be let out to the wild. - I'm using En-Th layout which previously use Alt-Shift as layout switcher. - After PPA update, I could set the Alt-Shift-Next-group as hotkey but it's not working. - Ctrl-shift works for me for both layout. Anyway it overrides with Terminal hotkey Ctrl-Shift-T so I opt not to use it. - If I switch th Th layout, the alt-shift back to work again (despite the fact that I set the layout switch hotkey to F9, weird?), but the indicator still on Th although I am typing in En. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218322 Title: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-keyboard/+bug/1218322/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1239807] Re: "hp-setup -i" needs better documentation
To the HP developers at HP: The problem here is that "gksudo hp-setup -i" (or "gksudo hp-setup" in case of Qt4 not installed) does not work. The user has to run "hp-setup -i" so that hp-setup runs as normal user and asks for the password for administrative tasks when needed. Most users do not know that. Also the Qt4 warning message can be irritating to some users. Also in "-1" mode the password prompt is a GUI dialog popping up. My suggestions: 1. If Qt4 is not installed, simply run in "-i" (interactive mode), without warning message. 2. Make hp-setup with gksudo (or similar) working or let it give a clear message that the user has to run it without gksudo. 3. Make sure that the password prompt always works, ask for the password in text mode if no GUI utility/toolkit for popping up a password dialog is available. Especially hp-setup should also work on a pure text console (like SSHing into a server). ** Changed in: hplip Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: hplip (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1239807 Title: "hp-setup -i" should be more user-friendly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1239807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1241388] Re: Won't boot anymore
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. [Bug 1076232] Re: Build with tracker support
The issue with files not being searchable in the Activities Overview (unless they are placed directly in Home folder) is present in 13.10. Upgrading packages from gnome3-ppa doesn't help either, despite enabling "Files" search provider in the Search Settings applet. However, recursive searching files across folders is perfectly possible in the Nautilus window itself. Just not in the Activities Overview. Compiling Nautilus by hand (as per instruction in the comment #1 above) fails. My current version of Nautilus is 1:3.8.2-0ubuntu2. Since the tracker-search 3rd party extension (https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/284/tracker-search/) is not compatible with 3.8 and aforementioned bug is still in place, I reckon being unable to search for files quickly straight in the Activities Overview is a major regression. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1076232 Title: Build with tracker support To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1076232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1229686] Re: No video output at all when booting 13.10 on Asus Zenbook UX31A
I have what I believe is the same bug affecting an ASUS UX32VD. I have also been unable to figure out what logs to post, but the system appears to boot normally with no video output. I believe it is the same Kernel bug as is reported for ArchLinux here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=167463, as the symptoms sound the same and the suggested workaround is effective. [Bug 1241419] [NEW] Installing Ubuntu SDK requires CD
Public bug reported: In Ubuntu Gnome 13.10 (2013.10.17), upon installing Ubuntu SDK I get an error, that I need to mount the Ubuntu CD in /media/cdrom, while if I insert the CD, it is mounted under /media/usr. You have 2 choices: Continue or Cancel. Both end up in a loop, where the same dialog returns, regardless of what you choose. After some Clicks, about 5-10 varying, the Dialog disapeared. I needed to manually unmount the CD, and then mount it under the location /media/cdrom, which wasnt there beforehand. To a starter this would be the end of the journey to Ubuntu sdk and their own apps.. Pls make the Software Center search for the location of a CD or anything since (it looks like) its not fixed, where it mounts. And then again - I tried to install just the PLugins from the launchpad side, but even that gave me the same Dialog "you need the ubuntu CD". Why?! Just let me download it from somewhere. [Bug 1223730] Re: mDNS failure with openvswitch 1.10
Ah sorry, I had updated to the latest OVS version from saucy by enabling the saucy repos and just updating relevant libvirt and OVS packages. The show command I included was run on 1.9 after I downgraded again to get printing working (printers found via mDNS) I've looked at the packets on the raw port with tcpdump and the mDNS packets are definitely getting to the port but not to the host machine. I'll try upgrading the machine to the current saucy packages and report back in a few days. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1223730 Title: mDNS failure with openvswitch 1.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvswitch/+bug/1223730/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
