[Bug 1201206] Re: emacspeak: FTBFS: cp: cannot stat 'info/emacspeak.info*': No such file or directory

2013-07-18 Thread era
(Oh, NVM, I overlooked the "pending" caused by http://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=7;bug=707487, traced it to
http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-
a11y/emacspeak.git;a=commitdiff;h=6f004c37e45672a4e38e560c29e83a1b62575fe6
commit which indicates upstream #707487 as fixed by upgrading to
upstream v38.)

[Bug 1202054] Re: PostgreSQL Being Listed on Login Screen

2013-07-18 Thread The Minder
Issue partially resolved.

The 13.04 installation I mentioned was actually cloned from a 12.04LTS
partition and I recall that I had problems with permissions
that stopped PostgreSQL from running. The command to change the permissions
of the PostgreSQL directory under /etc/ is:

"sudo chown -R postgres:postgres PostgreSQL"

and there's a good chance I screwed that up and inadvertently created a
human level user called PostgreSQL. This also meant that I could not
delete user PostgreSQL... even tho it was disabled.

I just corrected this (chown) error and have now managed to delete user
PostgreSQL which no longer appears on the login screen or the
logout/shutdown screen.

Nonetheless, that does not explain how the the 13.04 install did not
list PostgreSQL user on the login screen whereas the 13.10 install did.

[Bug 986973] Please test proposed package

2013-07-18 Thread Dave Walker
Hello Jared, or anyone else affected,

Accepted facter into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/facter/1.6.5-1ubuntu1.2
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 699802] Re: error:: no video mode activated

2013-07-18 Thread papseddy
I am also facing same issue... but #24 fix that problem. But this is
workaround.

In my case i tried to install system with preseed, and i tried #24 run
as late_command. But it doesn't work.

d-i preseed/late_command string in-target cp -rf
/target/usr/share/grub/*.pf2 /target/boot/grub; in-target update-grub;

any idea about this.

[Bug 936679] Re: After update to kernel 3.2, from 3.0, can't boot from raid

2013-07-18 Thread Menno
Upgraded from 10.4 LTS to 12.04LTS; kernels versions 2.6 to 3.2. System
has two 1T disks in RAID1, boots from RAID volume. This setup worked
perfectly. After upgrade, system won't boot, defaults to
busybox/initramfs; mentioning a faild RAID system. Option to continue
with degraded RAID is presented but does not work. Booting with (old)
2.6 kernel results in stable 12.04 system. Checked RAID, is fully
stable, bothe disks are complete mirror images.

[Bug 357268] Re: X01-localapps pathologically slow with many groups

This bugreport is still valid, I can confirm it in our setup of LTSP
server (two load balanced servers, ldap/nis users (about 4000)): Ubuntu
12.04.2 LTS.

Since we don't use local apps (yet), we just rename X01-localapps to
x01-localapps skipping it's use.

[Bug 1202544] Re: USB device could not be recognized in Ubuntu 12.04

2013-07-18 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1202544/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you

[Bug 933333] Re: Empathy open conversation window off screen after monitor is disconnected

2013-07-18 Thread seoman
It's still happening in Ubuntu 13.04.

As explained in the original post, you can reproduce it using 2
different external monitors in a laptop, for example. Left the laptop
hibernating, change the monitor and open de laptop again. Some of the
windows will be off the screen with no way to recover them.

Sorry about the attachment spam. My attachments from Dell Optiplex 960 are not

I tried to reproduce bug #989443 with Ubuntu 13.04 (and succeeded partly), and
didn't understood that it would flood this issue. I'll direct my gathered
information to the right bug.

I seem to run into a similar situation. I have managed to create 4
automated back-ups last month and this month it simply stopped working.
I have gone over my FTP settings but I can't find the problem, FTP works
fine otherwise.

I keep receiving the error "Operation unsupported". Will include output
as requested.

[Bug 989443] Re: apport-collect crashes when no matching packages found

2013-07-18 Thread Janne Savikko
This bug can be found partly in Ubuntu 13.04. When you run apport-
collect with no matching packages, apport-collect succeeded to finish,
but there is a python script that crashes. I can't remember exactly what
the name was (maybe something related to cloud), and when I tried to
reproduce it with example run in this bug's description, it accidentally
flooded wrong bug with lots of attachments.

I can try to reproduce the bug and find the name of the crashing python
script, if someone can tell how not to flood other bugs :)

always be installed by bug reporters. However, apache2-bin will always
need to be installed for Apache to be functional, so this is a better

2013-07-18 Thread David Holdsworth
I did try to specify the package, but it will not accept apt-get or
ia32-apt-get.

Also, advice from Daniel Letzeisen to go back to old status, appears
to have fixed my problem. It looks lke I reported th big in the wrong
place, but the update manager did ask me to report it.

[Bug 989191] Re: Asus Zenbook UX31E powers off on plugin in/out AC adapter

2013-07-18 Thread Janne Savikko
I don't think this is a software related problem but hardware one. I've
been running Windows on my ZenBook lately, and this problem occurs with
Windows too. Usually I see it when the laptop is running hot and I try
to plug or unplug the power adapter, but I can see it sometimes too when
I've just restarted the laptop.

And for me this has gotten more common lately. It's not a problem with
battery running old, because battery can hold power about 4 hours. I'm
not familiar how switching between power adapter and battery modes work,
but could it be a problem with capacitors?

Anyway, I'm taking my laptop to retailer for a repair.

Re: [Bug 906171] Re: Swedish language package for Ubuntu 10.04 has no dependencies

2013-07-18 Thread Erika Romero
Hi!
I think it was solved but I'm not 100% sure due to my computers recent dead
:( Had to move on to 12.04, sadly enough.
In my personnel opinion 10.04 should be mantained for ever, it was the best
distribution ever so I wish everybody had stopped and said: "Hey, this is
it! Let's put all our energy Lucid Lynx, nearly perfect as it is"...
Regards
Erika
