[Bug 1175907] [NEW] Taps continue even after tapping is disabled
Public bug reported: The built-in mouse configuration application in Lubuntu 13.04 didn't seem to permit configuration of tapping, disable-while-typing or palm detection. I therefore installed gpointing-device-settings which seemed to have these configuration options. Unfortunately, even when tapping is disabled using the checkbox, taps are still generated by my touchpad. I suspect also that the disable- while-typing/palm detection behaviour is also not operating when selected, although this is a bit harder to tell. [Bug 1175748] Re: displays only mirrored
I first tried KDE config. Than xfce4 (even with dev ppa display-config based on article http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/how-to-use-multiple- monitors-in-xubuntu.html). Both didnt work. Finally i was able to change this settings in Gnome. [Bug 1132584] Re: cedarview-drm kernel module fails to build on kernel 3.5.x [error: implicit declaration of function 'do_mmap']
As it seems nobody is too interested in this driver and gpu anymore. I would like to share some experience though for those who might need it. Apart from all the above information, even though the video is reported incorrectly as gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (llvm 0x300) the 2d acceleration works ALMOST satisfactory under Ubuntu 12.04 (with older generic kernels). Some videos drop frames. I suppose the reason is difference in the support for different codecs. Youtube works very bad. Same for vimeo. However youtube is quite OK if played through VLC player with the help of Youtube video and playlist importer - http://addons.videolan.org/content/show.php/+Youtube+playlist+importer?content=149909. My overall opinion is that intel d2700dc board with (I believe) GMA 3650 GPU is NOT a good board if you plan to use it as video playing device under linux. As the hardware is not in production anymore this is unlikely to change. For all of you who think that the traditionally good Intel linux support warrants flawless performance under Ubuntu and there is no need to check if the specific hardware is well supported - think again :) I did this mistake and won't repeat it for any manufacturer from now on. It is a bit sad that after all these years and the progress linux made both in terms of usability for the ordinary user and popularity, the driver support for big number of hardware is sub par. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132584 Title: cedarview-drm kernel module fails to build on kernel 3.5.x [error: implicit declaration of function 'do_mmap'] To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cedarview-drm-drivers/+bug/1132584/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1175922] [NEW] Multiple graphical artifacts
Public bug reported: I've just upgraded my Toshiba Tecra 2.4 GHz laptop with NVidia chipset to Ubuntu 13.04, and I've been experiencing a number of graphics issues since: -> Dash background: Unless I don't open anything before my first access to the Dash, the background of the same becomes messy, with bits and pieces of previously opened windows. This also happens when the programs to which these fragments belong have been closed for a while. The transparency is set to Static, but in Active it was even worse. -> Desktop: After playing a video, and sometimes (unpredictably, it seems) after running other apps, the desktop background/wallpaper is drowned out by, once more, bits and pieces of whatever has been running and/or white squares and rectangles; launcher icons become indistinct and the surface pretty much useless. Animations are Off -with them, it was even worse. Launcher Transparency is also Off. I haven't been able to sort it out by changing configuration usin Unity Tweaks and CCSM; to me it looks as if Raring can't handle my graphics chipset -Ubuntu 12.04 had no touble at all with it. Any suggestions as to what I can do? Public bug reported: This problem started after upgrading Ubuntu 12.10 which worked fine to Ubuntu 13.04. After booting, my Dell inspiron 1420 reaches an all purple screen without login. Ctrl-Alt-F1 gives a purple screen with blinking cursor and the words "starting up" Ctrl-Alt-F2 yields a console terminal where I can access unity with "startx". I needed to update the Nvidia driver to 319 for "startx" to work. [Bug 459752] Re: Qt Creator high CPU usage
So than, on Ubuntu this is already set to fixed, also on arch linux(which is a rolling release linux and with this more to the latest packages). [Bug 1175944] [NEW] getstream quits with SIGABRT when ANY of the tuners loses signal
Public bug reported: I am running getstream on 4 usb tuners (one instance for all) When any of the tuners loses signal, getstream aborts with SIGABRT. That, obviously, interrupts all streams, even those streamed from good tuners. I found an important information in the changelog: " I added a guardian thread which basically monitors if the libevent loop in the main program is still triggering events. If not we'll send a SIGABRT and when you are lucky and have set a core ulimit we'll have something to debug afterwards.
