[Bug 1161981] Re: Boot stalls after Ubuntu Raring desktop ARM (Panda board) install

2013-04-04 Thread Paul Larson
I can confirm this as well with a netboot install of ubuntu-desktop on panda.
I'm seeing it stop at the exact same place, except that mine is also trying to
check the drive for errors now since I pulled the power on it. After waiting
long enough for the screen to blank, I'm also seeing the message:
omapdss DPI error: failed to enable display: no manager

I'm connected via hdmi, to the hdmi port on a tv. I've also tried the
dvi-d plug with no success.

[Bug 276791] Re: Powertop reports a USB device is active 100% of the time.

2013-04-04 Thread Cristian Măgherușan-Stanciu
I have the same issue with my Lenovo x220 laptop, but in my case it's
the integrated webcam

Here's the offender:
19.0 W100,0% Device USB device: Integrated
Camera (Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd.)

After removing the uvcvideo module it gets slightly better but the problem
remains:
13.1 W100,0%USB device: Integrated Camera (Chicony Electronics Co.,
Ltd.)

All the Powertop settings are Good, including USB device autosuspend for
this USB device.

I am now running 12.10 but I am going to update to 13.04 soon to see if
this reproduces there too.

[Bug 1164328] [NEW] swappiness default value on desktop os version (up to 12.10)

2013-04-04 Thread Sergey Golub

This did the trick for me:
echo 0 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1.6/power/autosuspend_delay_ms

You can find the device ID (my 1-1.6) like this:
grep -i camera -R /sys/bus/usb/devices/*/product
/sys/bus/usb/devices/1-1.6/product:Integrated Camera

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1124803 ***

Steve Langasek, maybe it's a race condition. When init scripts trying to
unmount root, they fail because of opened files. But, when I check for opened
files in S75 script those processes had been terminated already. So, we see no
open files.
I'll try to catch it with S59 script (before S60umountroot).

headers-3.5.0-27 which break dependency (and made me unable to have
wireless on the affected laptop)

BTW, Your kernel x86-64 seem stable, I can't test x86.

2013-04-04 Thread yamo

[Bug 1164328] Re: swappiness default value on desktop os version (up to 12.10)

2013-04-04 Thread Adela Suhani
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does
not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to
a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you
are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the
support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are
uncertain if they are bugs.

[Bug 1154068] Re: openafs-modules-dkms 1.6.1-1+ubuntu0.1: openafs kernel module failed to build

Your config.log shows that you have a strange non-system version of GCC
installed:

configure:3493: gcc --version >&5
gcc (Sourcery G++ Lite 2011.03-42) 4.5.2
Copyright (C) 2010 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

configure:3524: checking whether the C compiler works
configure:3546: gcc conftest.c >&5
gcc: error trying to exec 'cc1': execvp: No such file or directory

Installing a different GCC into your PATH is not supported by Ubuntu and
almost guaranteed to cause problems.

[Bug 1164336] Re: kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-3.2.0/fs/btrfs/transaction.c:1337!

2013-04-04 Thread Kurt Huwig
The problem is triggered because the size of the logical volume has been
decreased from 700G to 1G (instead of increased to 1T - my fault). Still
this should not cause a kernel BUG. After the BUG I was unable to umount
the volume or reboot the machine - I had to hard-reset it.

[Bug 1097763]

2013-04-04 Thread Matt-woodrow
This bug refers to an issue that could only occur *without* hardware
acceleration.

Hardware acceleration is currently incomplete on linux, and is disabled
by default for all users.

You're probably seeing bug 777170, which is because the component alpha
(sub-pixel alpha text) support isn't completed.

[Bug 1074260]

2013-04-04 Thread Thomas Sisson
I'm still having this problem, but I am stuck on Thunderbird 17.04 on
Ubuntu Linux. Even though there are newer versions available for
Windows. I previously had set the Default Character Encoding to UTF-8
the Character Encoding had been set to Western (IS0-8859-1). If this is
being reset by an upgrade, it is possible that other things are being
changed that affect this issue.

[Bug 1152787] Re: i dont know

2013-04-04 Thread bugbot
We're closing this bug since there has not been a response from the original
reporter. However, the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the
requested information. If you're not the original reporter, we'd prefer you
file a new bug report.

Some tips:

  * Report X.org bugs via the command:  `ubuntu-bug xorg`

  * Test against the latest development Ubuntu.
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/
Bugs marked as affecting the development version tend to get priority
attention.

  * The `xdiagnose` utility has functionality for enabling debugging and
analyzing a few common X problems.

  * Tag your bugs with the Ubuntu versions you have reproduced the issue
in.

  * See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Reporting for tips on writing good bug
reports.

[Bug 1164364] Re: Sync harfbuzz 0.9.14-1 (main) from Debian experimental (main)

2013-04-04 Thread Dmitrijs Ledkovs
Can you please comment on the source changes?

Excluding the autogenerated configury the debdiff is still big:
 35 files changed, 2321 insertions(+), 513 deletions(-)

It does not look like pure bugfixes, there are no open launchpad bug.
I'd be inclined to ask you to file a FFe [1] to justify updating this
core package this late in the cycle.

[Bug 1164093] Re: FFe: new upstream release 9.1.1

2013-04-04 Thread Maarten Lankhorst
Piglit results for nouveau:
 9.0.3: 10118/11275
 9.1.0: 10297/11330
Some new tests went from skip to partially succeeding.
Some EXT_framebuffer_multisample tests started failing, but those seem to be
flaky on all drivers, those failures can be ignored entirely.
A new nouveau specific crash occured in EXT_texture_compression_s3tc, it needs
to be investigated, but looks like it could be fixed in a straightforward way.
Some vertex tests need looking at to determine whether they're flaky, but
overall a lot of fixes have happened for nouveau.
