Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) oem-config also has this issue if user enters weak password in oem-config phase, then oem-config phase newer ends :( I can send a log file, but I think you don't need it, because bug is very easy to reproduce - simply enter a weak password, for example one letter :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779986 Title: system configuration (post-oem) crashes on user creation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/779986/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 990749] Re: Vc032x Vimicro webcam not supported in 12.04
Same problem with kernel 3.2.0-29-generic-pae. Updated gspca driver (http://moinejf.free.fr/gspca-2.15.18.tar.gz) did not solve the problem for me. Cheese still fails shortly after showing scrambled green screen and dmesg shows the same ISOC data errors as in bug description. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990749 Title: Vc032x Vimicro webcam not supported in 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gspca/+bug/990749/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 57050] Re: Brother HL-1430 USB printer will only print once
It looks like the bug returned in the beginning of August on Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) See the text in #1038695 "After an update of cups from 1.5.3-0ubuntu1 to 1.5.3-0ubuntu3 my HL-1430 laserprinter is left in a wrong state. If I print a Libreoffice text file containing two png images. It is impossible two print after this, it takes very long to print afterwards and it is printing a blank page at the most. After a powercycle of the printer, printing is possible again. This only takes place on my 64-bits computer with Ubuntu12.04 64bits. A simple Libre-office textfile with only text does not give any problem. On the same computer there is a Ubuntu11.10 32bit system updated upto cups 1.5.3-0ubuntu3 too. This doesn't give any problems at all, with the same Libre-office file. My (ugly) solution was to restore an old root-filesystem of 27 July 2012 and updating the system upto now *EXCEPT* cups. I now have a completely updated the system with cups 1.5.3-0ubuntu1 (!) and wait for updating cups until this bug has been fixed." -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/57050 Title: Brother HL-1430 USB printer will only print once To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cupsys/+bug/57050/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1039155] Re: Unity fails to load on old hardware. Missing automatic fallback to LLVMpipe
There must still be a test in the system somewhere because on my Toshiba laptop with i945 graphics it will support unity on the laptop screen, but if an external screen is plugged in so that the virtual desktop is greater then 2048 pixels the hardware will not support it. [Bug 842768] Re: Cups notifies "printer ' xxx ' may be not connected " although printer is OK and printing is OK too
I'm using the gnome-fallback session with Ubuntu Precise, as Unity doesn't work with thin clients (LTSP). [Bug 831768] Re: aptitude cannot handle conflicts with multiarch enabled
An update for Oneiric should also include the fixes for other serious multi-arch issues. At least Bug #845136 and Bug #904486. Without these multi-arch on that release is still effectively broken; IMO those bugs should be nominated also for Oneiric. The specific patches for those issues may be fairly entangled, it may be easier to update Oneiric to at least 0.6.6 instead (currently at 0.6.4). My time as upstream maintainer is limited and I will definitely not be able to backport those fixes (or others that may arise) to 0.6.4. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831768 Title: aptitude cannot handle conflicts with multiarch enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/aptitude/+bug/831768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1039420] [NEW] NTP security vulnerability because not using authentication by default
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: Ubuntu implements so much security one way or another. So much defenses against network level man in the middle or malicious proxies or wifi hotspots. Cryptographic verification generally works well but there is one big drawback: it requires correct date/time. NTP in Ubuntu does not use any authentication by default, although it is supported by NTP. I conclude, that almost no one is using authenticated NTP, because there are no instructions in a forum or blog how to enable NTP authentication. Therefore almost everyone uses standard configuration and is at risk. An adversary can tamper with the unauthenticated NTP replies and put the users time several years back, especially, but not limited, if the bios battery or hardware clock is defect. That issue becomes more relevant with new devices like RP, which do not even have a hardware clock. Putting the clock several years back allows an adversary to use already revoked, broken, expired certificates; replay old, broken, outdated, known vulnerable updates etc. ** Affects: ntp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Visibility changed to: Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039420 Title: NTP security vulnerability because not using authentication by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ntp/+bug/1039420/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 985675] Re: Launcher: Improved accordion effect behavior by prioritizing running applications.
** Description changed: I have a bit of apps locked into my Unity panel. While I use all of them pretty often, I don't use them all at the same time. Also, there are many apps that I use that don't really make sense being locked in the panel, for example gedit, eye of gnome, totem. All those locked apps waste precious space from the panel while they're not really needed (unless you plan launching them), while the applications actually running (and not locked) usually get stacked at the bottom of the panel thanks to Unity's accordion effect. It would be great if Unity would prioritize running apps and show their icons properly if possible while stacking the locked apps that are closed by using the accordion effect.
