[Bug 1030156] Re: long-running compile leads to laptop overheat & shutdown
I'm pretty sure things have gotten worse for me since updating precise -> quantal. [Bug 1032511] [NEW] Synaptic don't removes all configuration files correctly
Public bug reported: Operating System: Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin Used Version of Synaptic: 0.75.9ubuntu1 Describtion: If one tries to remove a package with configuration files, the package and the config file of the selected package will be removed correctly. Some packages of larger programms are subdivided in more than one package. [Bug 494400] Re: Opening folder with nautilus-gksu change desktop wallpaper to root one
Just to clarify the facts: - This behaviour occurs when calling "gksu nautilus" in Ubuntu 12.04 with latest updates installed - Until now, I did not managed to manually remove the root wallpaper after it was loaded - The dialog for changing the wallpaper is run in root context after reproducing the situation when called via right click on the desktop - Several (additional, gui related) root processes stays in background even after closing nautilus a long time ago - Killing some of them prevents right clicks on the desktop, so the dialog for changing the wallpaper with root rights is not accessible anymore - Also files/starter from the root desktop folder are shown on the desktop - This also works with another account than root I could not reproduce it on all machines though! Machine 1 (affected): fresh install of 12.04 Machine 2 (affected): 12.04 upgraded from several prior versions Machine 3 (not affected): fresh install of 12.04 I have no clue what 1+2 could have in common, despite the fact that those are the main working machines and 3 is not used that heavy what I wanna tell you is that on 1+2 far more experimenting/configurations is done while 3 receives clean configuration solutions after they work on 2 - confused? me too! :D Hope anything of the above is of at least little help! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/494400 Title: Opening folder with nautilus-gksu change desktop wallpaper to root one To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gksu/+bug/494400/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1032187] Re: OpenGL rendering issues
I am using Unity at the moment, but I have experienced similar issues in the past in gnome. I will try unity2D and the gnome sessions (again) to see if I can reproduce the bug there as well. Looking at the sytem monitor no process is taking much CPU (Intel I7-2600) at the moment. Compiz is using 0% most of the time and sometimes peaks at around 8%. gnome-system-monitor is the biggest user with 0 to 16%. In terms of memory, Compiz is the biggest user with 201 MiB. [Bug 987220] Re: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI
I am now using the nvidia driver again because the PC gets very hot when using the nouveau driver (power management is not implemented so it always runs at 100%). It appears that the shutdown issue is only present in version 295.49 of the nvidia driver. Version 173.14.35 is working but has other issues regarding resume from suspend and changing from console to X (ctrl-alt-f7). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987220 Title: System does not power off reliably when "Shut Down" chosen from GUI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-session/+bug/987220/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
