[Bug 949216] Re: software center doesn t work ubuntu 11.10
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding. ** Package changed: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) => software-center (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: software-center (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949216 Title: software center doesn t work ubuntu 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/949216/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 949732] [NEW] use-format-literals.patch breaks compilation of glr grammars
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu precise (development branch) Release:12.04 bison: Installed: 1:2.5.dfsg-2ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:2.5.dfsg-2ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:2.5.dfsg-2ubuntu1 0 500 http://es.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status When compiling a C (not C++) GLR grammar, Ubuntu's patched Bison 2.5 generates an invalid file that cannot be compiled because yyerror is called with more arguments than parameters. For instance, in my grammar the generated .c file contains two calls to yyerror like this one yyerror (parsed_tree, "%s", yymsg); which is wrong since yyerror in my grammar only has two parameters: that extra "%s" is amiss. [Bug 937546] Re: package nautilus-dropbox (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 2
(Subscribing David Euresti of Dropbox to this bug since this bug is in the official Dropbox package and not in the Ubuntu one) I looked into this bug even though it's not in the Ubuntu package. The postrm is failing with exitcode 2. After analysing the postrm, and having made some tries, I believe that it's the "apt-key rm 5044912E" (function uninstall_key) that is failing and returning. ┏(ubuntu-devel-i386) rivendell:~/tmp ┗(511)$ sudo apt-key rm 5044912E gpg: key "5044912E" not found: eof gpg: 5044912E: delete key failed: eof ┏(ubuntu-devel-i386) rivendell:~/tmp ┗(512)$ echo $? 2 I would suggest to stop relying on apt-key and instead you should provide a keyring file in /usr/share/keyrings/ and just put a symlink to this file in /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/ in the postinst configure (and drop that symlink in the postrm purge). It's cleaner. Otherwise you should either ignore the failure "apt-key rm" or only call it after having it checked that the key to remove is still in APT's keyring. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/937546 Title: package nautilus-dropbox (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus-dropbox/+bug/937546/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 928501] Re: Precise will ship totally broken ebox packages
Hi Micah, Zentyal is Ubuntu specific, we not only we develop for Ubuntu, but we depend on specific Ubuntu components like upstart, the versions of the packages in the Ubuntu archive, etc. Eventually Zentyal could be ported to different distros but this would be a new feature that will require changes not only in the packaging but also in the source code; because of that we still think (as upstream) that we are Ubuntu specific. James, about these ebox- prefixed upstart jobs, are for Zentyal own daemons, like the log parser or the AD synchronization, or for services we like to start using upstart. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/928501 Title: Precise will ship totally broken ebox packages To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ebox/+bug/928501/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We have LDAP authentication in place (with NSS as well), though this does not seem to pull the users to the list - and it makes no sense as there are hundreds of those. So in Lucid people clicked "Other", logged in and next time they would see their user on the logon screen and the "Other" user on the bottom. Although mostly there is just 1 user per machine, sometimes other people need to be able to login to it as well, I hope you understand that. [Bug 949748] [NEW] Evolution does not obey xmodmap changes on external mouse
Public bug reported: I report this strange bug as an "evolution" bug, but it may also be in xserver-xorg or xserver-xorg-input-evdev bug. Hard to guess for me. I use a laptop with a multitouch trackpad and a bluetooth apple mouse (which is therefore "plugged" after X has started). For information, this is what Xorg says when the mouse connects by Bluetooth: [43.751] (II) config/udev: Adding input device apple’s Mouse (/dev/input/event12) [43.751] (**) apple’s Mouse: Applying InputClass "evdev pointer catchall" [43.751] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'apple’s Mouse' [43.751] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/evdev_drv.so [43.751] (**) apple’s Mouse: always reports core events [43.751] (**) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Device: "/dev/input/event12" [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Vendor 0x5ac Product 0x30d [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Found 3 mouse buttons [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Found scroll wheel(s) [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Found relative axes [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Found x and y relative axes [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Found absolute axes [43.751] (--) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Found absolute multitouch axes [43.751] (II) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Configuring as mouse [43.751] (II) evdev: apple’s Mouse: Adding scrollwheel support [43.751] (**) evdev: apple’s Mouse: YAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 [43.751] (**) evdev: apple’s Mouse: EmulateWheelButton: 4, EmulateWheelInertia: 10, EmulateWheelTimeout: 200 [43.751] (**) Option "config_info" "udev:/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:1a.7/usb1/1-1/1-1.1/1-1.1.3/1-1.1.3:1.0/bluetooth/hci0/hci0:11/input15/event12" [43.751] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "apple’s Mouse" (type: MOUSE, id 13) [43.751] (II) evdev: apple’s Mouse: initialized for relative axes. To make things clearer... - if I issue a xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 4 5" then the wheel events are working as expected with both the trackpad and the mouse, under all software (including evolution). - If I issue a xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 2 3 5 4" then the wheel events are inverted, as expected, with both the trackpad and the mouse on all software... but not on evolution. There, the trackpad generated events are inverted as expected but the mouse generated events are not. The situation is even more puzzling: In the left (mailboxes) windows and in the upper right (mail header lines) windows, the trackpad is inverted but not the external mouse. In the bottom right window (current mail), the trackpad works fine (inverted) but the mouse wheel generates no true movement: the lines just go up and down rapidly so the window "shivers" but does not move overall. It looks like it gets a pair of events, one up and own down at each event. To conclude this test, I borrowed a USB mouse and plugged it in. This generated the following Xorg log: [ 4009.282] (II) config/udev: Adding input device Logitech USB Optical Mouse (/dev/input/event13) [ 4009.282] (**) Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Applying InputClass "evdev pointer catchall" [ 4009.282] (II) Using input driver 'evdev' for 'Logitech USB Optical Mouse' [ 4009.282] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input/evdev_drv.so [ 4009.282] (**) Logitech USB Optical Mouse: always reports core events [ 4009.282] (**) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Device: "/dev/input/event13" [ 4009.282] (--) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Vendor 0x46d Product 0xc06a [ 4009.283] (--) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Found 3 mouse buttons [ 4009.283] (--) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Found scroll wheel(s) [ 4009.283] (--) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Found relative axes [ 4009.283] (--) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Found x and y relative axes [ 4009.283] (II) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Configuring as mouse [ 4009.283] (II) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: Adding scrollwheel support [ 4009.283] (**) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: YAxisMapping: buttons 4 and 5 [ 4009.283] (**) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: EmulateWheelButton: 4, EmulateWheelInertia: 10, EmulateWheelTimeout: 200 [ 4009.283] (**) Option "config_info" "udev:/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:1a.7/usb1/1-1/1-1.3/1-1.3:1.0/input/input16/event13" [ 4009.283] (II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Logitech USB Optical Mouse" (type: MOUSE, id 14) [ 4009.283] (II) evdev: Logitech USB Optical Mouse: initialized for rela

[Bug 948291] Re: New 12.04 beta Kernel doesn't support booting from dmraid
Paul, ah ok, so the RAID setup is just a JBOD one (basically glueing together the individual parts of the SSD). That explains the boot messages (because the partition table was created over the length of the RAID). And just a word of warning: at least in my experience grub in the past had no concept of RAID setups. So it was essential to have at least /boot on a partition that is accessible natively. In your case this just might about work since the first partition covers the whole first disk. But it also continues after and I am not sure that the files in /boot always will remain in the areas of the first disk. Must admit that grub2 may be more capable than I think. This limitations are from a bit back in time. But at least being cautious here cannot go wrong. ;) But for the current problem: the simplest way to gather output in such cases is by using a usb stick which you can mount in the busybox shell and then redirect output there. The rename error is weird. Even more since your later ls shows the node is correctly named. About the vgchange command. I think that was just an incorrect assumption from my side. I was just assuming you would be using lvm volumes on top of the RAID (which I was guessing to be in some other mode like striping, mirror or raid5). But it looks like Volume0p1 could just be your / and Volume0p5 be your swap partition (note "dmsetup ls" is another nice way to list currently available device mapper volumes). So maybe you were just about there and exit would have completed the boot. If that works the next step would be to have --debug on the grub command line which enables debugging output of the upstart system. That should show up in /var/log/boot.log and/or /var/log/syslog. Maybe that will show what is going wrong. Oh, in the busybox, maybe have a look at scripts/init-premount, there should be a dmraid file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948291 Title: New 12.04 beta Kernel doesn't support booting from dmraid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/948291/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 942104] Re: the indicator stopped turning red on restart required
There is a miunderstanding of the packagekit api. You need to watch the restartrequired signal on the transaction interface instead. The currently used restartschedule signal is used to indicate the client that a later version of the daemon has been installed as the currently running one. In packagekit upstream the signal is only emitted during an upgrade transaction (e.g. in the yum backend code). But aptdaemon will also emit the signal during a get updates call. Hopefully the code on the aptdaemon side will land today or tomorrow. The packagekit api allows to send different types: application, session and system. At the moment only system restart will be supported. -- Diese Nachricht wurde von meinem Android-Mobiltelefon mit K-9 Mail gesendet. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/942104 Title: the indicator stopped turning red on restart required To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+bug/942104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
