Thanks Nuno. That log is consistent with the trace attached, so that's nice to know. [Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
@cvargas-z compiz is a compositing manager that uses 3D graphics hardware to create good looking and fast compositing effects on your desktop. In the newer Ubuntu versions, it is primarily used by the Unity graphical shell. When using 11.10 without compiz, your system probably fell back to Unity-2D, which is a Qt/QML based version of the Unity shell. This is not really a bad thing. For better graphics cards, using Unity/compiz makes your shell (the windows, launchers etc.) have better effects and run faster, but the difference is not that big (I am personally using Unity-2D all the time). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863154 Title: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/863154/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 877936] [NEW] Xubuntu 11.04 fresh installation crashes
Public bug reported: Sorry if this is being reported by me for the second time, I couldn't locate last nights report. I have a Gigabyte E1500 laptop. I have had at least 3 unsuccessful attempts at installing Xubuntu 11.04 as a fresh install with separate partitions (format all) for /home, /user/local and '. It would appear that the installation process halts at the same point each time. I no longer have that specific text but I recall it was something along the lines of determining which packages to delete. Prior attempting a fresh install of 11.04 I had performed a fresh install of 11.10 but my wireless connections were playing up. Since the wireless worked well via the USB installer of 11.04, and on Ubuntu forums others with the same problem had said they would revert back to 11.04, I decided that I should do another fresh install but with 11.04. [Bug 877752] Re: wireless_before_suspend failed
Hi Daniel, The logic of the test is as follows: If checks if you *have* a wireless connection at the point of running the test with 'nmcli -f SSID,ACTIVE dev wifi list' For you this should be 'wiberg.nu' It then uses this to get the connection from the list of existing ones, and here's the problem - it picks up 'wiberg.nu 971ebaeb- 9ce2-40c3-bc43-be5f621c33ff vpn never' as the connection to use in the test. It then knocks down all your existing connections and brings back up your 'wireless' connection (which in this case is not one). Try: > active_connection=$(nmcli -f SSID,ACTIVE dev wifi list | grep yes) > ap=$(echo $active_connection | awk -F\' '{print $2}') > conn=$(nmcli -t -f UUID,NAME con list | grep wireless | grep -e "$ap$" | awk > -F\: '{print $1}') versus: > active_connection=$(nmcli -f SSID,ACTIVE dev wifi list | grep yes) > ap=$(echo $active_connection | awk -F\' '{print $2}') > conn=$(nmcli -t -f UUID,NAME con list | grep -e "$ap$" | awk -F\: '{print > $1}') If it's ok to change the 'wiberg.nu' connection name to something like 'wibergvpn' then this will let the test run. In the meanwhile please check the modified code and let me know if it works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877752 Title: wireless_before_suspend failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkbox/+bug/877752/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This bug was fixed in the package virtualbox - 4.1.4-dfsg-1 --- virtualbox (4.1.4-dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=low * New upstream release. - Fixes missing icons when using pt_BR locale. [Bug 794565] Re: The Dash doesn't give results when searching using key letters
I think this would be a nice to address. We have some snafu in the code on how to treat underscores (xapian's TermGenerator does not break on underscores - which we shamefully exploit in some cases...). Also breaking on transitions between numerals and characters seems like a sensible thing to do. [Bug 872483] Re: laser printer only prints first job correct
Following Guido Do from bug #855412 Have exactly the same problem with my OKI B410d. Tried different drivers, no luck on 11.10, everything worked fine on 11.04. Attaching some logs. errors_log contain the following: - restart of cups - printing test page from printer settings page - printed ok - waiting a bit - printing test page again - pages start spitting out - turned off the printer - turned on the printer - jammed page came out and after a second the print page was actually printed as well (that's something new, didn't happen before) In the logs you can see that I have DYMO label writer 450 printer as well, it wasn't affected by upgrade to 11.10 and behaves normally. Please propose a workaround or something, that's a total no-go for me. [Bug 877951] [NEW] After recent update, shading for window snapping appears even when no window is being moved
Public bug reported: Hi, Sometime in the last 24-48 hours, some update has caused Unity / Window Snapping to start appearing, even when I am not moving a window at all. The problem is intermittent, but once it occurs, the only solution is to log off and back on. I have not yet been able to determine what causes the problem. The problem, more specifically, is that that a large orange box appears if I move my mouse to either the left or right side of the screen, and the box stays there, even if I switch viewports. Terribly annoying and distracting, but otherwise seemingly harmless. It even persists into the Expo view of my four viewports. The attached screenshot.png file shows the problem on the left side, the right side, and in expo view, respectively. Going into expo mode and switching viewports does make the undesired orange box go away, but as soon as I move the mouse to either the left or right side of the screen, the orange box comes back again. Logging off appears to be the only way to fix the problem. The problem does _not_ seems to occur if their is no visible window in the viewport when the mouse is moved either full left or full right. The problem _does_ persist, however, once it has occurred and I switch to another viewport without any visible windows. Just to repeat for clarity: These problems occur simply by moving the mouse to either left or right edge of the screen; I am not moving any windows by any method, nor is any mouse button being clicked and/or held when this occurs. This problems was _not_ occurring after I initially upgraded to Oneiric from Natty -- the problem started only in the last day or two (I have been updating daily). Hope this helps. [Bug 850229] Re: Unread email count in thunderbird shown wrongly in messaging menu and launcher icon
My Messaging menu does not contain Thunderbird at all, just a "Mail" item and when I get new mail, it does not reflect that. Also on the launcher icon for Thunderbird there is no unread count showing over the icon. I am rather disappointed with this situation and is there anything I can do to fix it? Or is that the work involved in this bug. I only have Thunderbird installed and no other mail programs. If I click the Mail item in the Messaging menu it takes me to Thunderbird but there is no unread count available visually anywhere. I do have notifications installed which pop up a dialog box when mail arrives.
