Public bug reported: Sorry if this is being reported by me for the second time, I couldn't locate last nights report.
I have a Gigabyte E1500 laptop. I have had at least 3 unsuccessful attempts at installing Xubuntu 11.04 as a fresh install with separate partitions (format all) for /home, /user/local and '. It would appear that the installation process halts at the same point each time. I no longer have that specific text but I recall it was something along the lines of determining which packages to delete. Prior attempting a fresh install of 11.04 I had performed a fresh install of 11.10 but my wireless connections were playing up. Since the wireless worked well via the USB installer of 11.04, and on Ubuntu forums others with the same problem had said they would revert back to 11.04, I decided that I should do another fresh install but with 11.04. I am a complete noob when it comes to linux as I've only been doing this on my own since early this year - prior I had someone else sorting out all the installs etc. ** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877936 Title: Xubuntu 11.04 fresh installation crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/877936/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
