[Bug 779750] [NEW] Multiple Monitor Causes Partial Freeze
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg When I plug in my external monitor after boot and then go to Preferences -> Monitors my system has a partial freeze, everything becomes laggy, mouse is unresponsive, can't go back into monitors to change the configuration. Problem also occurs when I use xrandr command in terminal. If I reboot with the external monitor plugged in the setup works fine, but then if I go into monitors and change anything (ie. primary monitor or resolution), the problems occur again. [Bug 739469] Re: Dash search unavoidably returns offensive results
levu, I think you're creating a straw man. I refuse to believe emacs users are offended by the presence of vi in Software Center and I think if you were honest, you'd say that's ridiculous too. I know Christians and Muslims who use Ubuntu. I've never met anyone offended by the presence of Bible or Quran software in Ubuntu. Some might prefer not to see religious software but that's different than the porn button by trying to start a movie. I am not a religious fanatic but as the bug description says, there are numerous examples where not hiding illicit software can cause significant problems for Ubuntu and Ubuntu users. We should have a mature blacklist in Software Center for 11.10 (and not attempt to outright censor free software that happens to be controversial), and the blacklist should be enabled by default. I think dopewars should be on this blacklist too. While just a text- based game, the whole point is buying and drugs illegally in New York City. While I think US drug laws need dramatic reform, I don't think this is appropriate for the general Ubuntu audience. I only think there are a few apps that would be on this list. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/739469 Title: Dash search unavoidably returns offensive results -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 777853] Re: Bugs assigned to new targets are easily missed (their default values sort at the end of bug lists)
I'm concerned that its a point-fix rather than digging at the heart of the matter; there are multiple ways things (apport, direct filing, also- affects) and all would seem to suffer from dropping-on-the-floor problem. I'm speculating here but perhaps an ajax also-affects that presented the new values *to be created* during the process would help as much or more, without running into the special casing issues we will with copying the importance and/or status without a UI. (For instance, if you have triage rights, but an existing task is new, what should we default to? And if there are 2 existing tasks, which should we copy from? Should we prefer same-package different series (of the new target) or same- series different package (of the new target), and what if the existing tasks are not visible, or same-package different distro? How wide should the heuristic be?). Or we could help more bugs get triaged, so that driving-to-zero becomes a common default not something requiring special consideration. Or ... this is why I'd like some more bandwidth with Kate to understand the problem more. On a purely minimal technical level, as long as we don't break folk in different contexts doing their own triage, we can certainly tolerate the directly proposed thing, but I *suspect* either of the other things I've touched on would be higher leverage and address the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777853 Title: Bugs assigned to new targets are easily missed (their default values sort at the end of bug lists) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 779779] [NEW] Drag and drop to webview will freeze the desktop
Public bug reported: I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 with latest updates, the webkit may have some problems. The demo which works under Ubuntu 10.10 can't work under 11.04. Please try this command: curl -O https://github.com/tualatrix/tools/raw/master/examples/webkit/webkit- demo.py && python webkit-demo.py When the window is opened, try to drag any file into the webview, it will freeze the desktop under 11.04. I wrote another C demo, it behaved the same. ** Affects: webkit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779779 Title: Drag and drop to webview will freeze the desktop -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
