[Bug 719183] [NEW] chromium-browser hangs when webgl is enabled

2011-02-15 Thread Fritz Heinrichmeyer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium

chromium-browser fails to open sourceforge.net pages when webgl is enabled
(default). I also filed a chromium bug:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=72737

Here what happens when starting chromium from the commandline:
fritz@jfh00:~$ chromium-browser http://sourceforge.net/projects/pidgin/
libEGL warning: unable to load st_GL.so
/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser --type=gpu-process
--channel=2862.0xba19c650.558368832: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/egl/egl_gallium.so: undefined symbol: drmGetMagic

sourceforge.net pages load when started with --disable-webgl

I cannot replicate the bug. It's probably fixed with the recent changes.

[Bug 719185] [NEW] [Lucid, Maverick and Natty] unable to add MSN contacts with Pidgin, e-mails addresses is not walid the presenting notification

2011-02-15 Thread Attila Hammer
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pidgin

Dear Developers,

Some weeks (I think since two weeks) impossible to add MSN contacts with pidgin.
When I add new MSN partner e-mail address, presented the confirm request
message and I clicking OK button, Pidgin says following message:
the e-mail adresses must a valid e-mail address.
Of course, the e-mail address is right.

I testing purpose created an another MSN account, and logged in. After
this I tryed adding the new created account my existing already used MSN
account e-mail address.

I attached next comment the debug log, a short part with this log file:
"(08:32:05) msn:

The e-mail addres is not putted with .purple/list.xml file the "partnerek"
group.

I found following issue with Pidgin bug tracker:
http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/13298

Lot of people see this issue with various Pidgin versions.

Reproducation steps:
1. If already have an MSN account, create an another account and login with new
account.
2. Simple try adding your existing already used MSN account username with buddy
list.

Attila

[Bug 164369] Re: [needs-packaging] Vodafone Mobile Connect Card Driver for Linux

2011-02-15 Thread Jarl
Aparently ubuntu 10.10 makes this feature request much less urgent.

In Ubuntu 10.10, a huawei moedem with SIM card is recognised by the
network manager as mobile broadband connection, and entering the right
phone number (which is "*99#" for the danish HI3G carrier) and the right
APN (acces point name), things just works out of the box.

[Bug 715510] Re: Some print jobs fault the copier with 116-357 on Lucid

2011-02-15 Thread Till Kamppeter
The fix is most likely in the libraries, but you do not see it if you

old libraries (which do not get uninstalled by installing the new ones).
By installing the new evince (Maverick and newer) you make the new
libraries actually being used.So the fix can be somewhere in libpoppler
or libcairo, according to my feelings rather in libcairo.

To test this you would need to rebuild source packages, so that you can
test the evince of Lucid with only one of the two libraries replaced. To
test the new libcairo for example you need to install the -dev package
of the old libpoppler, rebuild the package of the new libcairo, install
its -dev p[ackage and then rebuild evince. After having found out which
library brings the fix, one would need to find out which change in it
performs the fix to finally create a patch for an SRU (stable release
update) for Lucid.

I am marking this bug as fixed as it is working in Natty (and in
Maverick, too).

If you (or someone else) have found out more on what the actual fix is,
a Lucid task for an SRU should get added.

[Bug 708883] Re: Panda board shuts down during boot

2011-02-15 Thread warmcat
I added the modprobe ledtrig-heartbeat to /etc/rc.local for now,
although I'm sure there's a better place.

I cycled the power 10 times. 9 times it was normal, but one time there
was a 30s delay before boot completed. If it delayed 30s with LEDs off,
many people will think the board is OFF.

You can notice that the difference is usb node 1-1.1 enumeration
happening before local-premount or not (before local-premount makes the
delay).

usb node 1-1.1 is the SMSC USB Ethernet PHY.

Is there a race between the USB Ethernet PHY enumeration and the rootfs
being ready to use network layer? Eg, no /sys mounted at that time in
the bad case or somesuch?

   4. get the value below
    [UTF-8,CURRENT,ISO-2022-JP,SHIFT_JIS,EUC-JP]

  Actual result:
   4. get the value below
    [UTF-8,CURRENT,ISO-8859-15,UTF-16]

The value is defined in /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gedit.schemas.
But "$ gconftool --get" returns C locale's value in any locales because the
schemas is not registered.

The schemas is necessary for auto detect encodings in each locale.

@Bryan is there any chance you can try specifically your SD Card
that fails in Ming Lei's new board? There are a lot of possible
variables like x-loader, U-Boot and kernel version, even maybe rootfs
actions that can be eliminated as the sole cause of the problem if that
same card works on his device.

Right - so fixing the bug that things didn't properly wait for portmap at
boot before exposed a new bug, that portmap isn't starting correctly in your
environment.

Could you try an /etc/init/portmap.conf with the following changes?

 - add 'console output'
 - comment out 'expect fork'
 - change the portmap exec line to read 'exec portmap -d $OPTIONS'

This should give debugging output from the portmap command on the console,
so turning off plymouth should let us get some idea of why this isn't
starting up right.
