I am under the assumption that this problem is related to the HPET issues others are experiencing. With HPET (enabled by default), the system becomes unstable over time.. Installed Jaunty again and tried two kernels: one with HPET enabled and one with HPET disabled. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sysv-rc Hi, we have a drbd/heartbeat cluster on which we have installed unattended- upgrades to get the latest security updates as quickly as possible on our production machine. We also have a mysql server which is controlled by heartbeat. So all rc links to /etc/init.d/mysql are removed so the server does not start at bootup, but rather lets heartbeat decide if he is the primary node and starts all necessary (controlled) services. During an upgrade of the mysql server, the server is stopped. But then for starting invoke-rc.d is called, and since the rc links are removed, it will decide not to start the server again. evolution-exchange persistently shows an old content of the trash folder (in german: "Gelöschte Objekte"). Deleting messages works in evolution, but change is not reflected in view. I controlled with the web interface of exchange server. This is the best reproduceable "model change not reflected in view" error of exchange i observed. It does not help to leave exchange, to type "evolution --force-shutdown", to use the refresh context menu (in german "Auffrischen"). It is really nice to use the exchange calendar with evolution. It would be nice if i could trust in what i see with email also. The firefox translation should actually be provided by language-pack-crh-base. Although the .xpi was imported on the 8th, firefox translation still wasn't provided by language-pack-crh-base after last Friday's full export from launchpad. If it's still possible to fix up language-pack-crh-base package to include firefox translations w/ initial jaunty release, that would be great. I'll check it in 24 hours, but it probably won't include firefox translations unless something is tweaked, otherwise it would've picked it up on the 10th. Regarding the GDM lang list issue: i. i've tried installing iso-codes-3.8 from source and the gdm lang list issue persisted. ii. i've also tried removing ';' character from the locale name, and make installing iso-codes-3.8 with this tweak, and the gdm lang list issue persisted. This probably means the issue isn't related to iso-codes. It's either an Ubuntu GDM customization bug, or a bug in upstream, although upstream i was told they didn't do anything to support any locales anymore. One more note: When i tried to change GDM locale during signon from default crh_UA.UTF-8 to some other locale, the warning verbiage included "crh_UA.UTF-8" rather than locale name. Public bug reported: Hello, I'm having a problem when trying to print on canon 2022i device. So the problem is...: The printer is set up to default A4 paper format. By default, canon drivers have US letter format, i change it to A4 and try to print a test page. Information on computer shows that this job has been printed, everything is ok. But at the same moment printer stucks, and shows error. I click on error and i see that the job is stuck cause the printer got a job to print on US letter format. I suspect that changes on drivers configuration doesn't work. It's the only problem that keeps all the computers at work being reinstalled to ubuntu. Could you please help me to solve this problem. I can say the bug is still alive, at least with my X1300 on Ubuntu/8.10 It is interesting that the Xlog file does not show any error at all. But the X hangs just before giving the login gdm window. I tried all the suggestions posted here (included the "--acpi- services=off") without success. At the moment, the only way I found to make the X work is to uninstall fglrx and choose the ati driver. It is even more interesting that this bug appears to me only recently, after one of the upgrades. I mean that when I installed Ubuntu/8.10 fglrs worked great. I could use 9.2 ati-driver version. But at some point, for unknown reasons, this hang-behavior started appearing, and now I am stuck. It is depressing not to use the card at its best. Only solution for now for me at the moment is: either to wait for at/ubuntu fix or to reinstall Ubuntu/8.04. This also happens to me, on youtube and every other flash video site I have tried. But it only happens with the sound volume notifications. The notification that I get when I pull the power cord on my laptop doesn't affect full screen mode. I can also disable notify-osd temporarily, and the same thing happens - both actions also pop up something in the center of the screen, but only the volume adjustment kills the full- screen mode. I suspect that the problem may be the volume control hot-keys themselves - the flash plugin might be interpreting the hot-key keystrokes as a command to leave full-screen mode. Except that when I disable the volume control functionality of these keys in gnome-keybinding- properties, pressing the unbound hot keys does not kill the video. So maybe it is something trickier than this. I have tried different workaroudns but they don't work. Even I have tried Ubuntu 9.04 in a USB and it does not work either, neither others linux distros.
