[Bug 78037] Re: rt2500 in feisty: problem & solution
It's possible to get the rt2500 working with NetworkManager via ndiswrapper. You just need to find a copy of rt2500.sys and rt2500.inf and use ndiswrapper to install them. [Bug 82109] Re: tablet stylus buttons default values are not the expected ones
My Intuos 3 A5 usb doesn't show this problem - all buttons are assigned their default values in Gimp or Inkscape. Your problem might come from the fact that manufacturers sometimes introduce bugs (especially in the case of a Tablet PC, where they make their own modifications). Else, you could check with serial Wacom tablet owners. In case your problem is only specific to you (or the brand of Tablet PC you're using), you might have more chances talking directly to upstream (The Linux Wacom Project). It should be possible with a few commands to get all the information on your hardware they need to update the linux wacom driver to "correct" the bad configuration of your hw. In case you have a Wacom tablet, you would more easily find owners of the same hw (they have a mailing list) who could tell you if they face the same bug. -- tablet stylus buttons default values are not the expected ones https://launchpad.net/bugs/82109 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95910] Re: update-manager 6.10 edgy -> 7.04 feisty
Yep. update-grub script was changed. At least they were considerate enough to leave a backup, which I restored. Afterwards, using the edgy liveCD and learning how to mount my rootdir, I found out that the 2.6.20 image was in fact installed. I reinstalled grub from the edgy liveCD, and edited menu.lst to add 2.6.20-12-generic... and voilá, ubuntu again! Did a few apt-get dist- upgrade and it even updated to 2.6.20-13-generic successfully... it didn't modify grub.lst though, but I don't know if it had to. Sorry that function does not update the menu item. These GPUs will continue to be maintained through the special legacy NVIDIA GPU driver releases." > This implies that the 9631 driver _will_ be maintained in the same fashion as > the 7184 legacy driver. No it doesn't. It means the 7xxx (currently 7184) driver that we already include (the nvidia-legacy-glx packages) support it. 9631 is done. Updates to it come in the form of updates to the latest driver, currently 9755. The only driver that nvidia currently supports for these cards is 7184, since they dropped support in 9755. RE: [Bug 96684] Re: Update from Edgy to Feisty multiple install failures
All the error reports said that the files couldn't be found in the specified directory, which obviously varied with the program concerned. Affected programs included open office. Everything seems to be working, including open office so I presume that the programs concerned are still using the pre update files. The original install and update were with default directories, I didn't attempt to change anything. [Bug 88923] Re: Package 'midisport-firmware': firmware is not loaded automatically
It appears that your firmware and fxload are working OK then. So the reason it is not working on boot is probably udev related I have attached my modified version of /etc/udev/rules.d/35-midisport-firmware.rules for you to try. Don't forget to change permissions and ownership to the same as your other rules if you still have a problem attach your original midisport- firmware.rules file from the /etc/udev/rules.d/ directory and I will test it on my machine to see if it works with my Midisport2x2 hardware.
