[UAI] CFP: SCIS-ISIS2022 special session on Democratization of AI
SCIS-ISIS2022 Nov 29-Dec2, 2022, Ise-Shima, Japan http://soft-cr.org/scis/2022/ Special session on ‘Democratization: future direction’ Organizer: Atsushi Inoue, Mie University, Japan. Email: em...@inoueatsushi.net In collaboration with Junji Nishino, The University of Electro-communications, Japan AI/ML has been well democratized in our societies. As a result, many people enjoy its various advantages and merits without specialized knowledge and skills. On the other hand, specialists may or may not be satisfied with the current democratization. This session focuses on matters of democratization in a wide range of aspects, e.g. tools, education, certification, platforms, business, evangelizing, etc. We are especially interested in discussing its future direction. Any papers relevant to democratization directly or indirectly are welcome to join. Knowing its nature, we expect short papers (2-4 pages) so that authors may advocate their thoughts and positions better (flexibly and freely). Those may be expanded to full articles in post-conference publications. Needless to say, full papers (4-6 pages) are welcome as well. Expected #papers: 4-10. Deadlines of submission & notices: we follow the conference schedule. Let the organizer know when special consideration is needed. Post-conference publication: to be considered and arranged (pending contributions). Special request: ZOOM (or Google Meet) presentation support or approval (for our own support) when and where necessary. decision making. The results will be returned electrically together with the peer review reports. Authors are responsible to (or not to) reflect the results together with suggestions from peer reviewers. In case of conflicts, authors should consider comments from reviewers more so than those from editors. When too many requests are placed, only selected papers will be proofread. Presentation. All accepted papers (full and short) will be invited to the conference presentations. Authors may request their preference from the following: *Oral on-site presentation (available for full papers only). *Oral teleconference presentation (available for full papers only). *Poster presentation (available for both full and short papers). All authors in an organized session should request the same option in consultation with the organizer(s). While the program committee will try their best to respect all the requests, please be aware that not all can necessarily be accommodated due to various constraints for the conference program development. Presentation awards will be prized to outstanding presentations. About the venue. SCIS-ISIS2012 will be held in Kobe, Japan, well known as the exotic, cosmopolitan port city. The city is surrounded by a rich set of culture and nature -- Kobe beef, Kobe sweets, classy foreign residences in Kitano-cho, Arima hot spring, and Mt. Rokko to list a few -- while maintaining their economical and technological significance such as headquarters of over 100 international corporations and the world's fastest supercomputer ('Kei'). Well-situated in the heart of Kansai, many historically and culturally attractive sites, including those in Kyoto and Osaka, are within its proximity and easily accessible with our efficient transportation. With so many things to see and do in the city and surrounding area, it is the ideal location for a few extra days of pre- or post-conference recreation. Last but not least, Kobe is safe and cozy -- far from the recent catastrophe if this is your concern. In fact, this is the best place for all prayers to be united -- as the role model of remarkable recovery from the previous one.
