[Talks] Email an the n86

2011-10-14 Thread Jim L
Heya folks,

Setting up my n86 to use the email messaging feature seems like I've done
everything alright and have been able to even download my emails ok, my only
problem seems to be sending an email where it just queues itself and says I
have documents but one is I can't find them in the outbox and it certainly
hasn't sent. I tried searching the options to see if I can change it to send
immediately but can't find this option anywhere.

Can anyone please help me where to find this so my emails can send straight
away.

Regards,

Jim

What e-mail client are you using? If it is the one that came with the
phone, if you select on Inbox it does on my phones at least give a drop down
list of the folders and you could then go to outbox and check what is the
problem. If the e-mail is not going I would be suggesting that you check
your e-mail settings.

Are you sure that you are trying to plug the USB cable into the correct port
on the phone? Are you sure that you aren't trying to use the Micro SD card
slot for the USB cable?

Re: [Talks] Email an the n86

2011-10-14 Thread Jim L

Ah I got it, had to change port to default
Still bit of a challenge using talks and the n86 email
Forget setting themes to anything except basic theme, the only reason I
changed it was I couldn't access the draft, sent and outbox folders till I
changed theme to vertical, very strange.

This is with the previous version of talks as havent tried installing
updated version using the email client as when I first installed latest
talks it seemed to be more crackly than my current one

Unless you good folks tell me that the latest talks does fix these email
issues under basic theme?

Cheeers,

Jim

2011-10-14 Thread Christopher Chaltain
If you ever switch email providers in the future, you should be able to
get the port to use for out going mail from them. There's a few standard
ports and one of them is probably being used. Most of the time, you can
just go with the default. If you don't have the instructions from your
email provider, you can usually find it on line. I set my brother's up
for him for example, just by Googling his email provider and coming up
with the settings to use.
