[Talks] Nokia Internet Radio and Ovistore

2011-02-02 Thread michel.ribeyron
Hello

I wish to get the Nokia internet radio application on my N95-1, on the
external memory card. Up to now I have installed no application from
Ovistore. I wish help to do that and to understand and to monitor the
whole relevant process.

Please I have the following questions:
1) Is it possible to get the .SYS or SYSX application file either
downloaded to my PC or downloaded to the external memory card of my
phone?
If yes, how can this be done precisely?

2) What is the exact process which is triggered by clicking the button
"Send to mobile"? What are the main steps?
Before clickin the button, are there requirements to fullfill on the
mobile?
Are all steps accessible with Talks?

I thank you very much for detailed answers to help in using successfully
Ovistore.

Best regards
Michel

First of all, the extention for the installer is not .sys/.sysx, it is
.sis/.sisx. secondly, ovi does not allow download apps from a
pc, you must perform the download from a symbian mobile phone.

2) What is the exact process which is triggered by clicking the button "Send to

basically, the "send to mobile" is for you to send the download link directly
to your phone via sms, but however i have never get
this feature work. you dont have editional steps prier to download any app to
your mobile phone. what you need to do is,

1. visit www.ovi.com from your mobile phone.

2. you must login before you can download apps from ovi, if you does not have
login ID, please register one.

3. ovi.com is capable to detect your phone model and suggest proper apps for
you to download. when you found the app that you are
interested, just click the download link and it will automatically download the
app into your phone and by default it will be store
in your memorycard or mess storage memory.

4. finally, after the download is successful, the installer will launch by
itself.

The Talks install file supports all languages. So they will just need to
install the tts drivers that they want to use. Then switch the phone language
to what they want along with the tts.

[Talks] New Nokia C5

2011-02-02 Thread John Farley
Hello List,

I have just bought a new Nokia C5 phone, unlocked, following a
recommendation.

Today I installed Talks Premium 5.01 on it with ETI 123.

I have registered the phone for a 10 day demo licence.

Talks seems to crash on a frequent basis, long before anything of use can be
done.

For example, I booted the phone up and went into the Talks control panel to
change speeds etc. Once a got out of that it crashed.

It does not seem to matter what I do, it crashes.

I have used the Nokia software updater to check for software. As you may
well all know, the Nokia PC software is not of good accessible quality. It
did ask me if I wanted to re-install. I take this to mean that I have the
current software on the phone.

Any clues on how to make this phone work with Talks please?

Regards, John

I agree with you John. When I installed Talks 5, the latest version, sorry
I do not know the remainder of the version 1.0 or whatever Anyway then
I could not make a call. In despair after trying on so many C5 phones, all
provided by Vodafone. I have now sent my phone off to Vodafone to see if
they can install Talks. I realise that in doing this I will only get Talks
standard. Very disappointed also. I had the latest version of software, I

Don't know if I must follow some ways to read emails on my nokia e52, but
I

started using my e52 to read eamils, and I can'r read anything.

Or talks doesn't support this?

Re: [Talks] Can't read emails

2011-02-02 Thread Stephen Giggar
It is probably because you are running the other screen reader and not
Talks. That screen reader will not work with the email client on the E52. If
you have updated your firmware lately, that could also be the issue.

Also Talks is going to work with OVI Maps in the next release of Talks
acording to Blind Bargains. www.blindbargains.com

It sounds like you have the latest version of Talks and the TTS. It also
sounds like you have the latest firmware on your phone. It could be you have
a branded phone from a cell provider? Because I know many people who have
the C5 and do not have any issues like that.

Hi Steven and thank you.

I, clearly, agree with your analysis of the software on the phone.

I did not buy the phone from a phone service supplier.
I bought the phone from a UK electronics supplier as an unlocked phone. I am
not clear if that is the same as unbranded.

what turned me off mobile speak at least until the next talks version is
released is that you can not use the built in email client with mobile
speak

you have to use emoze and as all your email is transferred to their server
I

would prefer not to use emoze so I'm hoping talks will firstly read the
symbol list on my e72 and secondly will give more functionality to nokia
maps.

Re: [Talks] New Nokia C5

2011-02-02 Thread Stephen Giggar
No John a unlock phone doesn't mean it isn't unbranded phone. A unlocked
phone just means it can be used on any GSM cell provider. A unbranded phone
means it has the default Nokia firmware without any cell provider
customizing.

What you can do is to have someone read the product code in the battery
compartment and make note of the first 7 digits of it. It will start with
05. Then when you get this product code! You can do a search on it through
google to see what you can find out about that product code. This is
probably the easyest way to find out of the phone is branded to a cell
provider or not.
