Well it's legendary - even before it's been released, so it must be good. Re: [Sursound] Hmmm - gamechanger ?
Here's my good and bad impressions: - Six channels is good (simultaneous stereo and Ambisonics recording) - Cheap and good enough (but then, what's "good enough"?) - No EQ at the inputs is good (to be verified) (the capsules on the H2 are slightly EQed, and the EQs are hard wired) - Only two channels for the interchangeable microphones? (then no possibility for a FOA interchangeable microphone) - Portable but a bit messy, with two pairs of inputs on each side That's not so bad for an upcoming product... We don't know if it's yet another "good enough" product from Zoom, but after 3 years with a Zoom H2 I got a Yamaha C24, because it's better, much smaller, and in the same price range. What I'd like is a recording device as small as possible, with 4 channels, a minimalistic display and a minimal amount of buttons (only on/off, record, play, and stop). Something hackable. Maybe it already exist in the form of a plugin device for phones or a small recording USB module (with 4 channels). [Sursound] Zoom H6 (Was Hmmm - gamechanger ?)

So for use with TetraMic you'd have to somehow lock the levels down for the four channels, send them each a calibrated tone, and then correct them in post-production. Note that the two-XLR expansion kit doesn't provide phantom power. Re: [Sursound] Zoom H6 (Was Hmmm - gamechanger ?)
One big screwup on the ST350 and 450 from Soundfield is the lack of a tone generator which is the same at each output. Would make things much easier. I asked Soundfield for it after I bought the ST350, and they hummed and hahhed and the did nothing about it. Not that I was surprised, given how glacial and somewhat sad their software development is. And their inability to discuss whether I could upgrade my 350 to 450 spec by changing either the mic unit or the box. They couldn¹t work out I was happy to buy one unit if that¹s where most of the benefits were, and couldn¹t shake the idea that I was trying to trade in an item. Which I wasn¹t. Sigh. Pain in the ass company to deal with, unfortunately.
