Wrenches. I'm going to be out in the wilderness for about a week. (Yes, your member contributions have helped allow me a vacation.) One of the things I do is keep an eye on the spam & off-topic traps to make sure Wrenches' messages that are caught can be pushed through. I don't anticipate any, but if it happens I won't be around to approve until back into civilization. Anyway, keep the messages flowing and I'll see your good stuff when I get home. ___ List sponsored by Redwood Alliance Pay optional member dues here: http://re-wrenches.org List Address: RE-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Change listserver email address & settings: http://lists.re-wrenches.org/options.cgi/re-wrenches-re-wrenches.org There are two list archives for searching. [RE-wrenches] 2000v DLO/RHW-2 : in conduit required?
Hello All, I've now done several Blue Ion, both 48vdc and HV storage systems. Those with experience know that the 2.0 cabinet DC cabling comes out the back of the unit. In my 48v off-grid installs I've used DLO/RHW-2 into a wireway, making a DC bus with power distribution blocks, then to inverter, etc. I loop and support the cable from the back of the battery cabinet, allowing extra should I ever need to move it(it's on casters) to access the back for servicing. The current BI 48v system I am building is commercial grid-tie and requires AHJ inspection. Is having RHW-2 cable in free air from the cabinet to a wireway NEC-legal (i.e. without conduit)? Obviously if conduit is needed, it eliminates looping and an easy roll of the cabinets away from a wall for service. Thanks. I await the opinion of of the BI gurus of this forum. Found references on Mike Holt's forum to DLO/RHW-2 and conduit requirement, but no consensus one way or the other. [RE-wrenches] Conext Configuration Tool password needed
Esteemed Wrenches, Working on a system with 4 XW+ inverters. Using a conext config tool I used a few years ago. I am trying to set the AC output voltages on the inverters so they were within .5 VAC per the manual. When you try to configure the AC output It gives you a warning and requires a password. I have tried the password that worked with the Gateway and guessed at many others but no luck. I did a word search for "password" in all the schneider O & M manuals that had anything remotely to do with inverters, config tool, multi inverter systems etc. Anyone know the secret handshake? If I made one years ago and no longer have it does anyone know how I can reset it? Also wondering if anyone is using the new combox successfully with XW+ inverters? Looks like Schneider discontinued the XW+ line as well as the original combox. I've heard good things about the combox and would like to try out the new version if it's compatible. Thanks in advance, I appreciate it! Greg Egan Remote Power Inc. Re: [RE-wrenches] Conext Configuration Tool password needed
Hey Greg, The PW should be in here at the link. It is in the XWP NA link at the website under user manuals. https://solar.schneider-electric.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Conext-XW-Pro-NA-Addendum_Multi-Unit-AC-Output-Voltage-Configuration-and-Calibration-990-91314.pdf If it is not, let us know! I will see if it is in a file here or can check on monday! Getting close 5 pm here and that is a priority The monitor system and remote config system is called Insight Local. It can go out to Insight cloud for remote control like Optics. It works very well with old legacy grey box XW's and also with XW+ and XW pro. They knocked this system out of the park as it is all I need for my 300+ clients using XW. Alot of them do not want anything but the SCP. I make them buy a conext Home or Facility anyway for my own ease. Conext Facility was called the Gateway. They are the same and work really well. Combox is discontinued and no longer for sale! Check out Battle Born Batteries out of Reno, they have heater kits available for their LiFePO4 100 ah batteries. Just came out with a 280 ah 8D size, don't see a heater kit for it yet. Will check back in with them soon to see if it's on the shelf.
