Hello All, I've now done several Blue Ion, both 48vdc and HV storage systems. Those with experience know that the 2.0 cabinet DC cabling comes out the back of the unit. In my 48v off-grid installs I've used DLO/RHW-2 into a wireway, making a DC bus with power distribution blocks, then to inverter, etc. I loop and support the cable from the back of the battery cabinet, allowing extra should I ever need to move it(it's on casters) to access the back for servicing.
The current BI 48v system I am building is commercial grid-tie and requires AHJ inspection. Is having RHW-2 cable in free air from the cabinet to a wireway NEC-legal (i.e. without conduit)? Obviously if conduit is needed, it eliminates looping and an easy roll of the cabinets away from a wall for service. Thanks. I await the opinion of of the BI gurus of this forum. Found references on Mike Holt's forum to DLO/RHW-2 and conduit requirement, but no consensus one way or the other.
