Re: [RBW] Re: SKS Longboard Fenders Atlantis?
I ordered some from RBW yesterday. Not where I can check now, but they were on the website last night. By tan do you mean the cream color that the Grilver Hillborne sported? I'd vote for that on any bike with a cream headtube. Riv will most certainly have them to sell you pretty soon. Re: [RBW] Re: Help with Serial Numbers
Doesn't the M mean it was match built, 1999 - 2000 or so? JB didn't start painting Rivendell frames until later, I will stab a guess at 1998 or 99. My 1996 A/R was Waterford built&painted, my 2001 Road was Curt built JB painted. Re: [RBW] Re: silvers v. dura-ace
You are in good company. Sheldon Brown said more than once that he preferred indexed shifting for the rear derailer. Silver friction front, DA index rear. I tried Silver friction on the rear for a while. Definitely smooth and silent, but I was never able to warm up to friction on the rear, especially when shifting over two or three cogs at a time. I hate missed shifts, and I don't have the patience to manually perfect a perfect shift that can easily be done with accurate clicks. If that makes me lazy, well..my average speed would back that up. [RBW] Re: a carbon "noodle"?
I am stiil using GB randonneur bars that were standard issue on my 1973 Raleigh Gran Sport. They have the sweep back. They are almost identical to current Nitto rando bars. As others have noted, i don't think the noodle was the first/only drop bar to do the backsweep thing. Doesn't the Ritchey biomax do that as well?
