 STA is 73,
HTA 72, my gross measurement of stack and reach were ~400 +/- 5mm

 rear end is 130mm

I’ll see if I can’t get an approximate BB drop with a line

Anyone interested in trading your used 58 canti Nor’Easter, Evasion, or Evasion

[RBW] Re: Lugged Roadini and Charlie H Gallup

2024-08-17 Thread Tom
I called Riv today to ask several questions, one of which was the status on
the lugged Roadini. It seems that originally the launch was scheduled for
this Fall. However, they’re applying the Roaduno delay to the lugged
Roadini, meaning it’s likely it wont be available until early 2025. Several
other bikes are ahead of it, including Appaloosa, Gallup.

[RBW] Re: Lugged Roadini and Charlie H Gallup

2024-08-17 Thread Jay
I would be interested in a lugged Roadini If I could easily strip my
complete build, sell the frames for like 85% of what I paid (in Feb) and
then rebuild with a few modifications from my original build. Mostly
though, I would select a 54cm over a 57cm. I'm running my C17 as far
forward on the rails as possible on a straight seat post. It's fine, and I
still love the bike, but I could have went down a size (I was between
sizes). My Roadini has good welds to my eye, more about the size and maybe
the new colour scheme (that mermaid Atlantis colour...hmm, that would be a
done deal if they offered that colour).

gently. That said there are some marks on the paint that I've tried to
capture in the photos. Some have been touched up with nail polish.

Rides like a dream. I'm only selling because I've switched to a
slightly larger and better fitting Atlantis.

The headset is FSA. The 26.8 seatpost is Kalloy I think, not fancy. The
bottom bracket is Shimano UN300, 113 mm and brand new.

Located in Berkeley, Calif. Price is $1325. I'll ship it anywhere in
CONUS for additional $75. And I'll pack per Rivendell instructions.

I hear you. But 85% is La La land in my experience for a non-lugged Riv
frame. This coming from someone who sold a pristine D&D custom painted
Roadini for far less than 85% for what I paid.

Re: [RBW] Where can I read try out a ton of different Rivendell models?

2024-08-17 Thread Anthony Davila

Hey Eric, first I wanted to say I have enjoyed your YouTube videos!

I thought the Roadini with drops was great and exactly what I thought it
would be like. I tried out a ton of their models like a Hillborne, a
Roaduno, a Platypus, and some others. I really enjoyed all of them and to
be honest, I came in with the mindset that I wouldn’t like swept-back bars,
but I thought they were really comfortable and fun to ride with.

I ended up choosing the (in green) to go on that nearby trail and it was
great! Really smooth shifting, comfy posture with drop bars (I’m new to
drops and anything that isn’t a flat bar), really pretty bike, and the
thicker tires on it were great as well.

Out of all the models, I would say that the Roaduno and Platypus are
probably not for me. The Roaduno because a trip I have planned will
probably be nice with gears and the Platy because I’m not a huge fan of the
aesthetic.

As for next steps, I’ll probably be lurking on here and Facebook
Marketplace for 54 cm Dark Gold Roadinis. Not sure if budget will allow for
a brand new build from Rivendell when the new frames come out soon, but
I’ll also be looking out for those! Should be fun, and hopefully I come
across some nice deals.

Also another post on here was a little concerning as some were saying their
Roadini’s welds were a little sloppy. I didn’t notice that on the one I
test rode, but if anyone has pictures please share! I guess I could ask in
that thread as well.

Anyways thanks for being curious about my visit to Riv HQ!
