Problems on MacOS High Sierra

2018-01-31 Thread Steve Hawes
Hi,

I seem to be having a lot of issues on MacOS High Sierra with regard to being
able to click and scroll.

  1. Frequently the cursor changes to the compass one used for moving things
around and no matter what I do I cannot get it to change back to a pointer and
therefore cannot click on anything. This mostly seems to happen after I have
used a two finger tap to right click on something.
  2. Scrolling with a three-finger swipe is horrendously slow compared to
other applications I have open and swiping the whole height of the trackpad
sometimes only moves the display by 2 or 3 lines.
  3. Trying to scroll on the data returned from a query (again using the
3-finger swipe) will often scroll the Browser pane instead of the data pane,
even though the cursor is over the data pane.
  4. Trying to click on a scrollbar and move it does not work.

My version information is:

My OS version is MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3 running on a 27” Late 2015 Retina 5K

Can anyone suggest how to resolve these issues or are they bugs?

They seem to be incompatibilities between High Sierra and QtWebEngine. Please
try the test build at https://developer.pgadmin.org/~dpage/runtime-revamp/
which will use your default browser instead.

Thanks.

Problem creating database with Postgres 10.4 on MacOS Sierra

2018-05-28 Thread Steve Hawes
Hi,

I have just installed a clean copy of Postgres 10.4 and pgAdmin4 V3.0. When I
try to create a new DB I cannot select template0 or template1 as the template
because they do not appear in the list. If I execute:

select datname,datistemplate from pg_database;

I get the following output:

datname datistemplate
"postgres" false
"template1" true
"template0" true

The templates exist but are not showing.

How can I fix this please?

Change browser in MacOS

2019-01-08 Thread Steve Hawes
Hi,

Can anyone help me with changing the browser used by pgAdmin in MacOS Mojave.

I have Google Chrome installed and can see that there is a box for entering the
Browser Command in the pgAdmin configuration but I cannot work out the syntax
for getting Chrome to launch instead of Safari. Any help appreciated.

Many thanks

Re: Change browser in MacOS

2019-01-08 Thread Steve Hawes
Sheldon,

The /usr/bin/firefox %URL% is the placeholder text that is used as an example
for the browser command. I have tried with Chrome as my default browser and
this works fine but I want to keep Safari as the default browser but use Chrome
only for pgAdmin.

Following the reply I got from Richard Coleman and after a bit of Googling for
the correct command I have found the syntax to be:

open -a “Google Chrome” %URL%

Hope this helps someone else as well.

Thanks
Steve

Interestingly enough, I use Chrome exclusively and my Browser Command is
configured to: /usr/bin/firefox %URL%
When selecting New pgAdmin 4 Window... the new window opens in Chrome. Seeing
as firefox is not even installed, I believe in the absence of a working command
pgAdmin 4 reverts to OSX's default browser, which I do have configured to be
chrome.

Well I have mine set to launch chromium with this command:

So I would imagine substituting the command to start chrome from the command
line would suffice.

Just a thought,

Progress window not closing

Hi,

I started a VACUUM on a table from pgAdmin and a progress window opened as

Spellcheck and Autocorrect in pgAdmin interface

Is it possible to disable the browser spellcheck and auto-correct in the
