Re: Saving a Mono File

2007-07-27 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
I think you can just combine the two tracks and let goldwave just do a mono
file out of it.
I haven't heard any difference either.

Both Replay AV and RadioTime are great programs; and I have both on my pc.
There are a couple of advantages associated with RadioTime vs Replay. As
Radiotime (the program is actually called Redbutton) is managed via the
website, rather from within the program, you can modify your recording
schedule from any pc.
Secondly, while a recording is in progress, you can quickly jump back (and
then again forward) in 3 minute intervals so you can quickly hear someone
again.

Which program is better? Both are great; if I could only have one,
however, I'd opt for Replay AV.
But since I can have both, I do.

Radiotime is recording software. I am beta testing RedButton tuner 2.937
build for accessibility with JAWS 9. I have direct communications with the
developer of RedButton. He's in Russia.

You can definitely use the web based interface to schedule your recordings.
They have an excellent radio guide. Ask Mike P. and I agree with him.

If any of you use this program please post the bugs you may have on this
list so I can forward them to the developer.

They are listening to me and are interested in improving the software. The
developer told me he now understands the unlabeled graphics and to use alt
tags and tags after I explained it to him via email.

In January you will be able to see my Blind Radiotime blog and join my
mailing list to learn and discuss Radiotime RedButton.

2008-01-18 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
I seem to have a problem with a file i have recordedwhich is playing
correctly in booth audacity and goldwave but not in foobar2000.
In foobar2000 it only plays in the left chanel.
Though the file is a mono file so i really don't understand whats wrong.

SV: some questions about foobar

2008-02-04 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
Hits might be a bit late.
Some might say vuplayer is better.
I haven't tried this one out so i can not say anything about it.
I use foobar on my own and i really do like it.
The latest version is 0.9.5 and can be found at:
http://www.foobar2000.org but you should be aware of that they for some to
me strage reason has removed all the good hotkeys.
But you can set them up on your own.
I can not say wheter there are set files for windoweyes or not, i use Hal
and with hal you do not need any map-files or nothing like that.
I tried it out with jaws and with jaws it also worked really great.
There are a lot of foobar2000 3rd-party components out there.
Also a forum but you eed sighted assistance to create an acount.
They have this crapy verification code on hydrogenaudio.com so i haven't had
no luck to register.
Hope this helps you out a bit.
If you have more question y ou're very welcom to ask me.
I will be willing to help you as much as i can.
/Anders.

Hey listers, I am finally ready to give up winamp for good. It's a piece of

ago and was impressed with sound quality right out-of-the-box. I looked
around on the pc-audio archives and found quite a few posts but they were
extremely old. So is foobar still a good program? Are there still set files
available for window-eyes? Do you recommend something better? I do have vlc

SV: some questions about foobar

2008-02-09 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
Sorry for my late reply.
I can really recomend version 0.95.
Though you should be aware of that you have to do hotkey programming to make
it a bit easier.
There are a lot of components out there which i haven't tsted.
The soundtouch component can help you play autiobooks faster.
There is also a windowsmedia streaming plugin which makes foobar working
with .asx files an windows media streams.
Though you have to install the latest net framework.
Here is the link to all the 3-rd party components.
Though the page is rather hard to use but it works if you give it a bit
pations.
http://pelit.koillismaa.fi/plugins/dsp.php
You are very welcome asking me questions.
I am willing to help.
Though i have a lot to do in my life so i may be a bit late with my answers.

have seen your messages on the pc-audio archive and you have been using

0.95 is ok?

Soundsettings and soundcards.

2008-02-29 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
I have a m-audio delta audiophile 192 sound card.
Why can't the windows sound settings be set for this kind of card?
For example:
If you go to the sound settings in the control panel in xp and control tab
to the devices.
There is an advanced button there where you can change the type of loud
speakers for the sound card.
But i can't hear any changes when changing from stereo spekers for dsktop
computer (translated from swedish) or headphones.
The simple question is why?
I know that the delta cards has its own control panel but the latest control
panel and drivers has really been inaccessible.

Re: gold wave vs sound forge

2006-05-22 Thread Anders Holmberg
HellO!
I am using goldwave when recording.
I like the way it shows how long it has recorded and if things are beening
recorded.
Soundforge is more powerful in some cases.
THe noise reduction and pop removing for example.
Though this feature is a plugin which also costs alot of money.
Soundforge has a very good reverb but if you have Goldwave you can download
the freeverb plugin which you can install and use within goldwave.
I also use a free editor called audacity which has a very good pitch
feature.
Goldwaves pitch sounds awful to me and soundforge sonds a bit better.
But Audacity is great for small editing.

Can not select microphon from the volume control.

2006-05-28 Thread Anders Holmberg
HEllo!
I have an ac97 onboard soundcard on my computer.
Its a packardbell colputer.
I also have windows xp home sp2 installed on it.
In the volume control in windows you should be able to select microphone as a
recording source.
But when i try to check that checkbox it becomes checked an unchecked again.
This happens very vast.
THe strange thing is that it seems that all checkboxes except from the stereo
mix checkbox seem to behave in the same way.
But the stereo mix behaves reverted.
It becomes unchecked and then checked again.
I wonder if anybody here has came across this before?
Any help is highly appreciated.
THanks in advance.
/Anders.

 Hello
I'm not sure of the difference between end markers and finish markers,
 but
holding down left shift and left control while pressing the left or
 right
cursor keys will move the marker accordingly. Also, the right bracket
 key
will place the marker at the current position in the file.

Is there a setting that I should be awhere of?

M audio delta audiophile 192 and recording streaming audio.

2006-06-04 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
Is it posible to record streaming audio with the m audio delta audiophile 192
soundcard using any sound editor
If yes then i've must have done something wrong during the installation becuase
i can't figure out how to do this.
THere are no settings for example in the volume control under the menu
alternative and then properties and then recording.
I really cant explain it better.
So if you would like to help then just ask questions and i'll try to answer
them as good as possible.
THanks in advance.

Beginning to give up when my questions not beeing answerd but here's another.

2006-06-06 Thread Anders Holmberg
HellO!
Ok its really frustrating when you ask a question and you dont get them
answererd.
THis is the 4-th question in 1 month i ask which i hope will be answererd.
Maybe my questions are to complex or maybe im not getting through.
But instead of picking on folks i ask another one.
Lets say i have set goldwave or whatever soundrecording software to record from
one sound card and have another soundcard as a playback sound device.
Is it then possible to hear through the playback device what you are recording
from the recording device?
A kind of monitor option.
Thanks.

Re: VIrtual cable.

2006-06-09 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hello!
Its a kind of auto repeater.
Lets say that your audio card cant handle recording of internet
audiostreams.
Which my soundcard can not do.
THen you use it to virtually connect a virtual audio card and then you can
set goldwave to take the recording from the virtual audio card which seems
to have a what you hear feature.
But still you can listen to the stream.
Instead of playing around with real cables.
I cant explain it better.

Really strange behaviour.

2006-06-09 Thread Anders Holmberg
HellO!
I have goldwave here on my computer.
And an m-audio delta audiophile 192 soundcard.
When connecting to the line in i can hear the sound comming through.
And its been recorded rather low.
BUt when i try to raise the volume for the linein fro 0 to 50 or what ever then
the next time i go in to the control properties window it is back on 0 again.
So the adjustment doesn't take effect.
Has anybody heard of this or is it only me having this problem.
/Anders.

Hmm, do you mean by using the virtual audio cable?
There is a repeater pgorgram that comes with the program in which you define
the soundcard tha has the outgoing source and the other as incomming source.

Thanks a million. At least I also got the manual from the aor USA website
for the AR3000a.

I see that the manual is copyrighted for 1992 I think! And yet the receiver
is still manufactured. Rather remarkable for something like this to be on
the market for so long!
